There was something about cloudy days that Thunder liked. Maybe it was because it sometimes turned into a storm, with lightning and his namesake in the sky. Or maybe he liked it when the sun wasn't shining on his back and making him sweat. Whatever it was, he was much more cheerful than most Soquili would be when it was so cloudy.
He trotted along a path that cut through the woods. He wasn't going anywhere in particular, but he liked to travel, so he let his hooves take him wherever they wished. Soon he broke from the trees and found himself by the river. He took a quick drink and started walking along the bank, wondering where he would end up today. Too bad no one was with him; it was quiet, and to him, quiet equaled boring.

Charlotte was out in what would be turning into "bad weather". She, herself, didnt mind the rain. She liked the feel of it when the heavy clouds poured water from the sky and big droplets pelted her coat. It felt nice. Of course it wasnt raining right now and her mother would surly scold her, though she was an adult now. She snorted and continued to wander through where ever she was, which, as she looked around seemed to be woods.
"Of course, I would end up in the woods, and look, now Im talking to my self." She smiled and shook her head, her white mane bouncing off her neck lightly. Gold hooves made a plodding sound, every now and again a twig breaking.under her weight. She knew she was making alot of noise but it made her feel better as she plowed through the woods in a vain attempt to keep predators at bay.

Being raised by a mother that never left the forest if she could help it, Thunder was very much at home in the trees. He knew there could be danger in the forest but he didn't really think about it. Absentmindedly Thunder let his long tail trail into the water, feeling the light current tugging it a little.
Something caught his attention. It was a noise but not a typical forest noise. Puzzled Thunder stopped and practically held his breath, flicking his ears forward. It sounded like someone was crashing through the woods without caring how much of a racket they were making. And they might have been talking to themselves too. Thunder smirked. Well he didn't have to complain about it being quiet anymore. Perhaps he could give the newcomer a bit of a surprise? He crept along quietly, stepping occasionally on something that crackled but otherwise tying his best to be silent.

There wasnt much to hear with all her crashing and cracking that she was making but for some reason she felt like she should be quiet for a moment. Those nice, gut feelings that made you scared. She laughed to her self pit swivvled her ears to catch sounds, hearing things snap, ah but those were just squirrels. She nodded nervously and, though she still made noise, it wasnt as much.
"Greeeeat Charlie, now you scared your self." She sighed and rolled her pink eyes at her own self. Her poor tail had old leaves cought in it and her mother, and probably Lorri too, would have something to say to her. Theyd tell her with a pretty tail like hers she should take much more care of it. She giggled to her self, her warriness ebbing away with her more pleasant thoughts that didnt have to do with something eating her.

Thunder seemed to be approaching the source of the noise when it suddenly stopped. He froze midstep, wondering if he had been heard. He didn't quite have the same skill of navigating through the forest as his mother did. If he did, he would have been much quieter. But it didn't stop him from trying to sneak about.
Then he heard the voice again. A mare talking to someone? No, it sounded like she was talking to herself. Thunder had to suppress a snicker. She was perfect "prey" for a prank. It sounded like she was a little nervous to begin with. He continued creeping along, stepping over underbrush and weaving through trees. Quickly he was close enough to get his first glimpse of Charlotte. The sight of the pale blue and lavender mare surprised him a little. She was definitely not coloured for camouflage. With a grin he bounded forward, aiming to surprise her.

Charlotte let a shreiking neigh as she quickly shimmied back from the blur that jumped out at her. Realizing that it was a large stallion while tring to recover her lost balance her hoof hooked a root, tripping her. She fell with a woosh into a sitting position and looked arround her, bewildered.
Charlottes eyes gazed up to see a brown stallion. "You!" Her eyes narrowed acusingly. "You scared me!" She huffed at him and promptly shook her mane from her face.

The reaction he got from Charlotte was absolutely perfect! Snorting with laughter in front of the mare he pranced around like a little colt. If someone was to tell him he was childish he would get angry, but it was true. He WAS childish, and the way he liked to play tricks on others was a clear indication of it, as well as his behavior just then.
"That was the point." Thunder stopped in front of her and grinned. Then he blinked, looking a bit puzzled by how she was sitting there. "Need some help up or something?"

Charlotte couldn't belive he was laughing at her! She could have been seriously injured and here he was, all arrogant and laughing! And whats more it started to rain. Not just some droplets but it started to pour. She usually didnt mind the rain, it felt good but now she was wet and humiliated infront of this stranger.
"No. No i don't belive I need your help!" She was glairing daggers at the stallion as she untangled her hoof from the root and stood up, still glairing and blinking rain from her eyes. "Would you be laughing if youd caused me to break something then?" Her voice shook with maddness and humiliation. "No doubt you would! You, sir, are mean!" Huffing in his direction she turned away from him, flicking her tail, hoping it slapped him some where, she started to almost trot from the stranger.

Thunder Strafe didn't know what startled him more; Charlotte's glaring or the sudden downpour. He stared at her, too stunned to move even if he wanted to. By no means was this the first time someone had yelled at him, but wow... this stranger went all out.
A wet tail smacking his chest urged him to move. He shook his head, mane dripping everywhere. "I am not mean!" With a snort he trotted ahead of her and cut her off in case she tried to leave. "C'mon it was just a bit of fun. I wasn't trying to hurt you, and you didn't get hurt. Don't be mad okay?" He smiled good naturedly this time, looking at her expectantly. The expression would have been right at home on the face of a foal trying to get out of trouble.

Charlotte stoped infront of the strange stallion, still glairing but not as feircly. "Ooooh, just a bit of fun was it?" She snorted in a very unlady like manner that clearly told him she could care less.
"Maybe one should find a different way to have fun?" Pink eyes looked up into the aqua ones and narrowed. "One of these days you will sneak up on the wrong Soquili." She looked away, still narrow eyed and said, "Well since you wont let me leave, my name is Charlotte, but I suppose you can call me Charlie." She looked back at him, a stern look on her face but it was no longer as severe. She obviously didn't stay angry too long.

Thunder wasn't fond of very feminine mares. They never wanted to do anything except look pretty, as far as he concerned. The way Charlotte snorted just made him smile more. Then he thought about was she was saying and took on a more serious expression. "I guess you're right. But I'm not that afraid of doing that." The stallion looked very confident in himself.
"I'm Thunder Strafe. Thunder for short. Nice to meet you, Charlie." He met her stern look calmly, though his smile didn't fade away completely.
