Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst SCHTHACK ServerBasically, a lot of the IRC Guildies and I are playing this game. The game is fairly dated, and is, quite possibly, the most annoying thing to get set up (we figured it out though eventually, and would be happy to help out other people), but so far, the people I've introduced it to have been enjoying the game. It's an Online RPG (ORPG), but not a Massively-Multiplayer Online RPG (MMORPG), and the focus is team-based PvE combat/exploration. A PvP mode and storyline quests also exist. So... Yeah... I'll just leave this link here... Did I mention it's free? If you do decide to play with us (so far, "us" is Kalsie, Vivivi, Peeks, Savvy, and I), just go to the website and download the "PSO: Blue Burst" client free from them, then register for an account. There is one hiccup that is kind of an easy fix regarding the shortcut that we can explain how to fix. Oh, right, it's only for Windows, alack, and it doesn't run on WINE, so... yeah...

Tried downloading it, my antivirus took one look at it and said " ******** YOU " then deleted it on me. I turned it off, tried downloading it again, and then my antivirus rebooted itself, deleted the file, then turned itself off again >_>
ESET must REALLY hate PSO...

You use ESET? The virus on it is a false positive because of the way they compressed the installer and some of the files of the actual game. Sad your antivirus is being a b***h to it -- AVG gave many of us problems. We just set an exception up.
@Tae: He has a Windows XP desktop, but he's waiting for his new school laptop so he can play on that.

I turned off my anti-virus and downloaded it, and then it wouldn't let me open it because apparently it couldn't read from source... No matter how many times I tried downloading it, it refused to download correctly. Oh well though, I suppose it happens.

So it's just that first file, huh? I may or may not end up joining you guys, depending on whether my laptop will play nice with it.
EDIT: Okay, so it runs the first time well enough, but then it keeps giving me errors about loading maps. Specifically, it says "Cannot create file datamap_city02_00_00o_s.dat."
So what is it that I'm missing here?

Are you running vista, Erve? If so, you need to right click and choose run as administrator.
Also, everyone has to right click the launcher, select "properties" and copy the target into the "Start In" box, omitting the "online.exe" at the end, and keeping the quotation marks.

Nah, I've got XP Home edition. But I'll keep fiddling with it until it works.
EDIT: And seconds later I find a way to make it work. Amazing. Maybe now I'll whip up a character and see how it goes.
