It amazed him that Ista Weyr seemed to revolve around chaos. There was hardly any semblance of order and with a new batch of Candidates Impressing (most importantly his roomates, M'rik and B'lin) new ones were already being shuffled and herded in. Why didn't the sharding Weyrleaders call of Search already~!? There were too many Candidates and not enough rooms or beds for any of them! On the one hand, he now could lay claim to a bed and refuse to budge. . . . Never again would he lay his head on the floor like some canine, hmph. But as evening fell and exhaustion took over the candidate, from the sorrow of the morning to the feast in the late morning and afternoon, Darcir could only stare as his things were tossed haphazardly out in the corridor.
WHAT WAS THE MEANING OF THIS!?!?! Brows knitting together and a scowl forming on his features, the man pushed his way back in to his old room only to discover not just two new faces, but four! "What's going on!? Who are you?" He demanded, his voice more of a snarl than anything. He had every right to be upset, to be angry at such rude behavior.
A red haired boy, about as old as he, looked over and shrugged. "New room assignments I guess. They directed us here and said it was vacant, that everyone had Impressed and someone would be off to get your things." An awkward silence as Darcir digested the information, both horrified and appalled.
"Looks like they made a mistake." Chimed a softer voice.
Darcir's outrage was enough to cause Liu to warble her concern. "Look, I'm sure the Candidatemaster can - - -" Dark eyes burned and Darcir heard no more. Turning his back, he picked up his clothes (still horrified someone had taken such liberty with his personal belongings!) and stomped down the hallway in search of someone who could better explain.
He couldn't believe someone thought he Impressed. . . . Rather, he assumed, it was more than likely they just plum forgot to jot his name down on the room assignments. As he had thought earlier, so much chaos and now he was stuck in a hallway or . . or. . . . Faranth only knew where they'd put him now. It was humiliating enough that his two roomates had both Impressed, and he had not, and yet now he was being rehomed like he was a nobody. A NOBODY!
It took longer than he liked, but eventually he was directed to a new room. Though it had been a bit time consuming finding someone who could reassign him properly, it wasn't long enough for his sour mood to lessen. His pride had been offended enough for the day, and all he wanted now was to find a free bed waiting for him and to sleep. The day was draining enough without all this fuss and some good shut eye might help shrink away the depression of his family's belittlement, Ilabell's tears, and his wounded pride. . . .
It wouldn't be the same without the stoic B'lin or the obnoxious M'rik. . . Pushing his way in to his newly assigned room, Darcir paused just a moment to see who all resided within. It had better be clean and there most certainly needed to be a bed. . . . He was sick of floors, sick of everything Ista at this point and it showed.
Liu crooned worriedly, burying her face against his cheek and rubbing her head affectionately. Hmph. What else could go wrong this day?

Bachi did not have to move. There was no suffering coming back to a room with his older roommate who had become too old to stay and had not Impressed at the last Hatching.
There was a brief exchange of goodbyes. In essence, it was very awkward. From the way they'd squared up their shoulders and sniffed before offering their hands to shake, it was evident that neither of the two were that heartbroken that they wouldn't see the other again.
"I'll see you sometime," was the last thing that was said before Bachi watched his short-lived roommate head down the halls of Ista Weyr.
Almost a full candlemark passed before anything different happened. Bachi had wandered off at one point and come back again; it seemed a necessity that he be present to accept and adapt to any knew guests he would be having.
The awkward, solitary silence was finally broken by the sounds of footsteps and a rather angry looking face. Instantly Bachi took on a similar scowl. He half expected news of being moved around to a different location again.
When no commands were uttered, he fixed Darcir and spoke with a great deal of rudeness to his tone. "Are you my new roommate?"

Liu chirruped questioningly, her eyes whirling faster as she peeked at the voice. Empathic little creature she was, she wasn't entirely clear on Bachi's intentions; though she was accustomed to those whom sounded rough or snippy, the young man whom had sneered at Darcir was a curious sort.
Darcir, on the other hand, wanted to get angry. His brows knit further and any irritation he felt from earlier was now placed a top of Bachi. Who. In. Faranth's. Name. Was. This!?!? His jaw clenched and he took a long moment to let his gaze burn in to the boy.
My oh my did he ever miss Merik and Balin now! Though Merik . . or M'rik at this point . . . . was obnoxious and didn't seem to know how to shut up he at least was amicable. And B'lin had been quiet and didn't seem to say much but that had been easily tolerated. In fact, it was a trait Darcir was beginning to prefer more and more. . . .
But to be greeted in such a fashion, no hello, no cordiality, just pure accusation and in a highly rude tone. . . .well. . . that was just not right. Though he often looked grim, Darcir did at least try to be civil, and thankfully for Bachi, such a demand would work in the other boys favor. He wouldn't lose it, but his displeasure was instantly felt. "Unfortunately," he admitted with a small snort.
Eyeing Bachi, giving him one last hard look, the man shook his head. What were they thinking having him pair up with this little brat. Maybe though. . . just maybe his rude mannerisms could be forgiven. It had been a pretty rough day on everyone and goodness only knew that Darcir's mood was just as foul as the next. Perhaps this other boy-creature was just taking things in stride. . .
Liu chirruped once more, looking from Darcir to Bachi and back again. There already was tension, she could only hope things came to a peaceful resolution soon. Moving towards the only available bed remaining, he set his things down. "Are you it or is there a third and fourth assigned to this room as well?" He didn't need to explain himself, not to this stranger yet, and he decided the best way to deal with rudeness was to be curt but civil and ignore him unless absolutely necessary.
After a moment of falling quiet, he did add, "I'm Darcir." Hmph. There. See? He was trying to be nice.

At the tone of this man's voice, Bachi's muscles tensed and his arms crossed. He felt threatened, and he wasn't about to deny it.
Silence reigned as he sized up Darcir before the headshake caused a small twang in the taughtness of tension. Bachi was ready to spring into an upsetting argument that never came.
All Bachi got for his upset and posturing was a question. It was a question that he wanted answered as well. "Just us." It felt good to know something and to make sure Darcir knew as much. Then, sudden realization hit. "I think. No one else is here."
That corrected, he finally unbunched his overtense figure and got to his feet. For a little bit, the floor was more interesting. Then some of the scant furnishing.
After what he determined to be an appropriate amount of time, he slowly extended his hand to Darcir. "Bachi," he said gruffly in an attempt to close the trading of their names.
The chords of his wrist were taught due to the clench in his fingers. "I sleep there," he mentioned as an afterthought and his eyes moved over to his small collection of things and the cot they rested by. "You can have what space is left." It was said as an insult, perhaps, but there was quite a lot of space left. Bachi had never taken up much space and didn't collect very many things.
