Looking at his paws, Tamu wiggled his toes around. It was boring, as usual. His family always seemed to be doing something else, or were too clingy to let his young uncle play with him. Too many things holding him back. It was just so stifling to sit there all day.
He raised himself, slowly walking off in some direction, whatever it was. He didn't know where he would spend his day, but he really didn't care too much. He just had to get away, to breathe.

Pilate had grown quite a bit lately. Her legs were even more lengthy. The growing seemed to be happening almost over night. Pilate her self had hardly noticed.
On the radio active green cheetah went through the plains. Her destination also undecided, only, that she hoped there was food at the end of it. Food was always welcomed.
Movement up ahead caused her to get low on her belly. The scent some what familiar but Pilate ignored it going with her gut rather then her brain. The cheetah slowly but surely pawed her way toward the movement. Was it lunch up ahead?

The following was done on Aim:
Polette : Walking forward through the tall grass, Tamu could hardly see anything around him. In such a long time, he seemed to remain small, and he didn't really like it too much. It had made him overly paranoid, and that was a feeling he hated. He had enough paranoid cheetahs in his family, and he didn't like to see it, so he hated what he was becoming because of his small stature.
Tensing up, Tamu heard a rustle in the grass. He wasn't quite sure if he wanted company or not, but there was nothing he could do about it
Chobi: Pilate got down low on her belly and crept ever so carefully towards the moving grass. Steady she went like the pro she was starting to grow into. Her slender body knew just where to go and where to step. The creature was in her sights now and ... wait a minute. Was that a cheetah.
Pilate sat up and looked down at the little cheetah cub. He seemed... oddly familiar.
"Are you lost?" Pilate emerged out of the grass, her radio active green pelt a sight almost blinding against the dull grass. She blinked again and sniffed at the cub. She could have sworn she'd meet him before but he was so small.
Polette: So it wasn't a threat. Good. "Lost?" He eyed the cheetah up and down. Wait a minute. He knew this cheetah. But she was like, plus sized now. When did that happen?
"P...Pilate?" he had always been good with names; every time he left his family and ran into someone, he made a point to remember them forever. Though, she didn't seem to recognize him. He stared down at his small, stumpy looking legs. That's why. It's cause he's still so small.
Chobi: Pilate almost fell backwards. She knew she'd reconized that smell. She knew she knew that smell too, this was a cub she met not all that long ago.
"Tamu?" The green cheetah tilted her head. The question 'your so small' almost spilled from her maw but she held it in. Mostly because no words other then 'Tamu' would form correctly.
It was clear she was shocked by the dumb founded expression on her face.
Polette: "So you do remember." Tamu felt a bit better. He had felt rather depressed lately, seeing the uncle that had always been smaller than him grow larger and stronger than him.
"You've, uh, gotten pretty big since I saw you last." he looked up at her, trying to focus on the happy feeling of seeing an old friend.
Chobi: Pilate looked down at her legs and couldn't help but blush. She had gotten pretty big over time. It had tooken her a great deal of time admittedly though.
"Being tall isn't everything though," The cheetah rested on her haunches, "I mean the taller they are the harder they fall. And the greener one is the more they stick out like a sore paw," Pilate laughed and relaxed some.
Her bright pink eyes focused on Tamu, "So, seen any rhinos these days?" The cheetah chuckled some.
Polette: "I wish I could grow tall...." Tamu mumbled to himself. He would rather trade the stick-out factor for his shortness. He hated being small. Hate hate hated it. Cheetahs his age didn't want to be friends with him, girls wouldn't even look at him. It was horrible. He couldn't just sit around by himself, but he'd rather do that then spend time with immature little ones.
"Ha, no, I haven't." Back then, they were both small. She had changed, but he....he hadn't. "I don't think I could run away from a rhino anymore. These little legs can't run that fast anymore. They need to groooow." he stuck one out in front of it, willing it to grow longer as he stared at it.
Chobi: Pilate laid down on her belly and looked over Tamu. He was pretty small, and Pilate wasn't about to lie to him and tell him he wasn't. Not that she didn't want to make him feel better, but she'd been in Tamu's shoes before and lies were never anything she liked to hear about her height.
"Some times... " Pilate looked up for a second chewing her lip trying to think how to word it, " You know I probably am pretty small for my age still. Sure Im taller now but Im not the size of a full grown cheetah. I used to think I'd never grow but I did. " She rolled over on her back and pawed at Tamu playfully.
"Sides, you can still do all the best stuff when your small. Like the best hiding places?" Pilate smiled up at him.
Polette: "You were?" Tamu could feel a smile emerging on his face. Sure, he didn't like to do the same things that cubs liked to do, like hide, but he felt better knowing that he wasn't the only one with this problem.
"Well, maybe I'll get bigger soon, and then we can do things that big cheetahs do." his eyes slid to the side, thinking of his future. When he grew bigger, his whole world would open up, he just knew it. His grandmother would have to be less protective and let him go. Let him go....somewhere else.
Chobi: Pilate rolled back on her belly and smiled.
"Yeah we sure can, " She was glad that he wasn't so blue now and more like the cub she'd met way back when. Okay it hadn't been that long ago, but still Tamu had not been blue when they had first met.
"So you on the hunt today Tamu?" Pilate blinked at the cheetah, "Maybe .. we could try to take something down together?" Maybe hunting or doing something else would get his mind off of his height some.

Polette : Tamu flicked his tail to the side, thinking about hunting. To be honest, he wasn't even able to hunt much, mainly because his family was on the protective side. His uncle/brother was the only one he really related to, but now that he was big and leaving the den, he didn't know what he'd do. He couldn't wait for the day when he could leave and go find something else to do, someone else to be with.
But for now, spending time with this friend, probably his only friend, was what was most important to the small cub. "I think we could." He smiled, almost triumphantly, like he was rubbing it in the faces of his family. "I don't know how much help I'll be, but I'll try it out with you."
Chobi: Pilate nuzzled the small male cub, "Thats alright some times I trip over my paws and ruin the hunt. I'll try my best too," The cheetah winked at Tamu and started off through the tall grass. The cheetah paused and looked over her shoulder , motioning the small cheetah to follow after her .
Really, she had no idea where the two were going to be headed. All she knew was it better have something worth eating at the end of the tunnel. Polette: "Really?" Tamu let out a laugh. Even if his body was small, his voice had deepened. It was strange, at the least, to see such a little thing with a teenager's voice.
He followed her, marching through the grass as a short-legged animal would. It almost looked like mother and son, and Tamu, realizing this, turned his head away in an embarassed moment. "S-so where are we headed?" He hadn't quite mastered the whole 'hunting' thing, so he didn't really know how to track herds, or anything fancy. He could only kill rabbits and small things like that if he smelled them.
Chobi: Pilate was a little confused why he turned away. But she didnt question his reasoning. She just treaded onward, only glancing back at him. What an odd voice was the only thought that really spurred in her mind.
"I'm not really sure honestly. " She smiled , "It could take a while to get there but we'll find what we are looking for once we get there," The cheetah got low to the ground in a crawl like position. "For now lets just pretend we know where we are headed huh?"
Tamu not knowing the first thing about hunting hadn't yet accured to the young teen.
Polette: Following Pilate's lead, Tamu got low to the ground. It didn't make much of a difference, though, because the tall grass covered him up, either way. "It doesn't matter how long it takes, I've got time to spare." Really, he didn't want to head back home anytime soon. He'd rather stay away from the strangeness of being the only male in his family now.
"I don't know how convincing I'll be at looking like I know what I'm doing." He laughed, though it was true. A small cub couldn't look too much like he knew what he was doing, as long as it came to hunting.
Chobi: Pilate gave a soft small chuckle at that as she snaked her way through the thick of the grass.
"Just don't worry about it and you'll be fine. You'll see, " She turned back and gave Tamu a cheesey grin. When she had been a lone rogue cub wandering the lands she had to teach her self to hunt... though many of her attempts had been small game and failures. Now Pilate was a decent hunter. She goofed up every now and then , but for the most part she would return with something.
"Sides, as a cheetah you're to cool already by default."

Polette: "Yeah? I guess you're right on that." It was true, cheetahs were by far the coolest things out there. The sexy long legs, the balanced tail, the thin figure? All way cooler than a husky lion or leopard.
He widened his nostrils, trying to think about what his mother did the one time they went out together. She was larger, and had done it many times, so he didn't know whether he could do it right like she did or not, but he still tried. The only thing he smelled, though, was antelope feces. Ick. His ears perked, though. Maybe it was a clue to the location of a herd? Tamu felt overly accomplished for finding the scent, and almost galloped off in the direction it came from.
Chobi: Up ahead in the direction the two were headed was a small group of antelope. Possibly they had gotten seperated from a bigger herd but no one really cared to ask when they were hunting.
The scent reached Pilate and had the cheetah smiling a sadistic little smile. Oh, this was gonna be fun. Antelope were a good sized prey but they were also small. The cheetah's head darted back at Tamu and gave him a wink.
Onward toward the prey did the green cheetah crawl. The antelope seemed pretty oblivious.

Polette :
Following Pilate, Tamu couldn't help but feel anxious. The last thing he wanted was to screw something like this up. It was a stepping stone for him, to go after something this large, even if he was with someone else.
Creeping in a curved path away from Pilate, Tamu tried to think about what to do. He thought that maybe he could chase them towards her, because she was bigger and could take them down.
He hesitated a moment, though, before really making his move. He swished his tail to the side hard, leaping up from the grass and chasing after the antelope as best he could.
Chobi:
Pilate lifted her head in surprise. What was Tamu up to!? Why was he chasing the antelope? Pilate opened her maw but closed it. What was he up to?
It took Pilate a few moments to realise he was attempting to chase the antelop to her . The cheetah got to her paws as quickly as she could and scrambled to take a position. She wasn't gonna let his efforts go to waist. Specially after all the moping about he had been doing earlier.

Polette :
Watching the antelope run at Pilate, Tamu felt a little bit proud of himself. He almost galloped after the antelope now, lazily running it into the trap they had set. He just knew that her experience and size could bring it down and earn the pair a well deserved meal.
"Got it?" He called out after the antelope had come right up close to the other cheetah. From his distance, he couldn't very well see what was happening.

Chobi:
Pilate was ready in her posistion. Tamu was doing just perfect and everything seemed to be falling into place flawlessly. Closer and closer the Antelope ran. Pilate crouched and lept through the air grabbing the beast by its neck and bringing it down to the ground in one quick fluid motion.
She tasted the sweetness of the blood but the thing still flailed from under her.
"PHAMU" Her words were garbled by the beasts neck hanging out of her mouth, "Phamu, phuu kthhith itt."

Polette :
Tamu felt cold as his blood seemed to chill. He'd never been asked to kill something outright, but he saw it as a chance to prove to himself that he wasn't just a bumbling cub anymore, regardless of size.
Slowly trotting in closer, Tamu ran his tongue over his canines. He tried to remember how his mother brought down large beasts; usually, it was just a quick snap of the neck. He wiggled his small head on the remainder of the neck that Pilate wasn't occupying, and snapped down hard, twisting his head to the side to try and assure a break. His eyes were closed, but he slowly felt the ceasing of movement from the body that lay in front of him.

Pilate released the kill after Tamu had bit down hard. The lifeless beasts body flopped down spilling in its own blood below. The female was pleased that had gone so well.
"Alright Tamu, this is your kill so you dig in first," She smiled down at him. Her ivory daggers stained red with the beasts blood. She was thrilled, more then thrilled.

Polette :
"Really?" His eyes were wide, excited that he had finally done something without the protection of his mother. He resituated himself over the body, careful not to step in the blood-stained grass. Pausing for a moment, Tamu quickly dug into the antelope, his hunger not apparent. He hadn't realized that he hadn't eaten in awhile until he felt the sensations of the meat on his tongue.
"Today has been a good day, hasn't it?" He smiled up at Pilate, a red smear around his mouth. He loved having a friend, especially one that understood how he felt about things. It didn't really bother him that it wasn't a boy, either, because there was only one other boy in his entire family, and he had grown and left the den many moons ago.

Chobi:
Pilate smiled as Tamu ripped in. She nodded yest to answer his question.
"It sure has been~" She chimed. The lime green cheetah quickly followed suit grabbing a mouth full of meat. Pilate always loved food. A trait that she had carried with her threw out her life. Thankfully she was a cheetah and burnt off the meals she ate with running.
