I had the chance to watch about an hour of the "Mountains of Strength" training tapes by Stephen Hayes of Bujinkan Fame (though now he is doing some kind of To Shin Do project). It was more like a camcorder following him in classes and discussions. The discussion parts were kinda interesting, with him around a table having tea with students. The class parts and the techniques were flippin' awful. As much as things things cost I would have expected a bit more. His class was predominantly little kids. I wonder how he expects the martial arts community to take him seriously when his training tapes show his classes and some of the kids have PLASTIC swords tucked into their obi? Also note-worthy was Hayes's Uke who hammed up every little tap that Hayes demonstrated..... Anyways, transcripts of the talks would be every bit as good as the whole tape. Just my thoughts anyways....

Whoa, my whole dojang is FULL of little kids. Like, half of my class (Black Belts) is kids. But we don't have plastic swords tucked into our uniform. Occasionally we get to use bokken, but...... At least I know never to watch that.

Wow, that`s a lot of kids, we have about 60 students at my place, there is 3 different kinds of classes. There is a Young Tigers one, that is for kids 4 to 6, they do things to help the kids learn how to get ready for the training a head of them. Another one is the Kids class I`m in it, for kids 7 to 12 and we train for real. The last kind is the Adult class, it is for people 13 and up, they do the same things as kids but, more sirious. There is a class called the Family class and it`s for kids and adults.
