And our battlefield is...
Playground Field The field look like an average playground. There was mostly grass all over the place, but where the jungle gym, see-saw, swing set, merry-go-round, monkey bars, and trapeze rings were set, they had deep sand underneath and in small radius about them. A safe distance from most of these objects, there was a sand box with much deeper sand with a couple of plastic shovels and a bucket. Here and there were small puddles of mud. Scatter around were a baseball, a soccer ball, a football and many differently color and sized balls. A tree stood at one corner of the playground with an unnecessary tire swing hanging from its strongest branch. (Credit to Tristam Lockhart for field idea + description)
This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to NORMAL type attacks.

Raina entered the stadium again, this time with Branimir at her side. She was here to battle with Alessa and her murkrow again and help them train. Their last battle had been a pretty unfair fight with Ayirwen having a type advantage but this time it would be more even. As she stepped up to the trainer podium and pressed the button that would choose their battlefield she pondered over any advantages Branimir might have against the other pokemon. Once the playground field had been switched in she sent Branimir out onto the field to wait for Alessa and Beth to arrive.

Alessa was very glad to have another chance with that trainer. She made a silent decision to take this even more seriously this time. She stepped on her podium rather solemnly, then greeted Raina. “Thank you for this. We will give everything we have.” Her Murkrow was then released immediately. “I’m sure she will benefit greatly from this.” If something was certain, it is that the experience she will gain from these battles, no matter how hopeless they are, will make her extremely useful in the wild. Rare Pokémon tend to be powerful.
“I’ve already seen your face before” mumbled an annoyed Beth. On the bright side, Arcanines being fire types, she didn’t have a particular disadvantage today. She flew in circles before perching on top of the jungle gym, judging it to be strategically better.

Raina nodded and smiled kindly at Alessa when she arrived. "No problem, Branimir and I are challenging one of the gyms so we need all the practice we can get. Good luck!" she called and then nodded to Branimir who rose to his paws and waited for the first command.
Judging the field and positioning of the pokemon Raina decided to start off the battle with a fire attack. "Branimir, use flamethrower." she called out to her arcanine.
Upon hearing Raina's command Branimir approached the jungle gym, crouched down, took aim, and unleashed a powerful stream of flame towards the murkrow.

“Well then, good luck with the gym, miss” replied Alessa with a friendly grin. She started to have a precise idea of what she should do in these duels… The amateur trainer witnessed the flamethrower engulf the gym with a hint of hope. Phew, as expected, her Pokémon withstood fire attacks better. The jungle gym, however, didn’t. Half of it fell extremely slowly halfway under its own weight. After this attack, she shouted: “Go! Thunderwave now!”
Shaking her burnt feathers off, Beth took a good look at Branimir. She approved the woman’s order… she felt a very faint pride to have taught her human some kind of strategy. The crow spread her wings, leapt, and glided rather fast towards the Arcanine, bursting with electricity.

"Thanks." Raina replied and watched as Branimir unleashed the first attack of the battle. She laughed as the jungle gym collapsed on itself, one less perch for the bird to use. As soon as Raina heard the command she called out to Branimir "Dodge it!" but she was too late, the murkrow connected with Branimir and he became paralyzed, unable to move at all.
Raina shook her head and waited for the paralysis to wear off. It didn't look like the attack had hit very hard.
Branimir growled in frustration as he tried to move his now frozen limbs and retaliate. Great... not even two turns into the battle and he was paralyzed, at least it felt like it was already wearing off.

Done. However, the dog seemed ready to move again. They had to act quickly. Think fast, Alessa, think fast. Maybe lowering his attack was a valid strategy… yeah, sounds good. “Use Featherdance, and don’t miss!” ordered the woman.
“Stop suggesting me not to miss, honey, do you seriously think I’d do that on purpose?” croaked dryly Beth as she turned around. Her wings flapped more than necessary, and from her white wings were shed a large amount of snow-like down. Much like a Canadair, she poured these white feathers on her way, and, of course, on her paralyzed opponent.

Raina glared at the bird as it shed feathers all over Branimir, lower attack power... just what they needed. Shaking her head she tried to think of a way to retaliate while Branimir was still on his way back to being able to move. When she saw his paw twitched she decided.
"Use thunder fang!" she called out to him and suddenly the previously statuesque arcanine was leaping into the air, fangs crackling with electric energy and he attempted to bite down on his opponent.

At the moment Branimir closed his jaws on the bird, she flapped nervously until she was just out of reach. That was close. A sneer directed at him added insult to injury.
“Yes!” Alessa almost started to dance. She pointed at the Arcanine. “You can counter-attack now! Use Mud-slap!” she shouted with conviction.
Beth didn’t reply this time; she was too full of herself to publicly admit it was the best attack in that situation. Perches were useless from now, everything she needed was on the ground. Her flight resumed, she flew low enough to take a sufficient amount of mud between her talons and hurl it violently in the face of her target.

As the blobs of mud came sailing towards him Branimir reared up on his hind legs, pivotted and shot off to the side out of the way, leaving the mud to splatter across the grass. Turning back to his opponent he smirked his eyes glistening with amusement.
After surveying the situation Raina called out once more "Branimir use Thunder Fang again!" she knew if he could just land this attack he'd have an advantage.
Hearing Raina's command the large canine once again took off towards his opponent, who was now at optimal level for a good chomp, with his fangs crackling with electricity.

Such big fangs, holding such a powerful discharge… too bad he won’t hit this time. He might be master fire and run fast, but the air was Beth’s playground. 3 dimensions to her disposition in order to dodge. She only felt harmless static electricity on the tip of her wing as she unexpectedly turned left. Silently, like the sneaky nocturnal bird she was, she gathered a lump of mud in another puddle and came back to release it on the dog.
Ah… here it goes again, the bird acted before Alessa could talk. That Murkrow seemed to be doing that a lot. She didn’t mind because another Mud-slap was exactly what she wanted her to do, but she seriously needed to get a grip and assert her authority as the trainer. She smiled awkwardly, pretending that was her intention all along.

Raina frowned as the mud hit Branimir and momentarily blinded him but he soon had his face cleaned off and was searching for his opponent. Once he had eyed the bird he started towards her, listening for Raina's command.
After a few moments of thinking Raina decided on her next move "Use Thunder Fang one more time, make it hurt!" she called out.
Upon hearing Raina's command the arcanine gathered up the electric energy again and charged at the murkrow, fully intending to cause pain rather than paralyze her this time.

It was a smart move to have reduced his attack power previously. The fangs didn’t miss her wing; nonetheless, while it stung and left her a bit numb, she could still move it. Beth flew out of his reach.
Alessa wouldn’t let herself be bossed around by her own Pokémon, this time. She leant forward to see the action better, and shouted “Good! Very good! Keep doing this!”
The Murkrow croaked back, irritated by her human. “If you don’t have anything new to tell me, shut up.” She only got away to come back full-force, holding another fresh handful of mud. It must have been humiliating to be weak against an almost useless lump of soil.
