Ista Weyr was spectacular to behold, with its partically enclosed Bowl and expansive tropical grounds. It was seemingly explosively carved out of an extinct volcano; stony 'fingers' reach up from the Rim to brush the clouds. The beaches that ran the length of Ista Island were a mixture of both black and white sands. The air was always hot and heavy with humidity, and Ista was notorious for ferocious, battering winds that came in off the ocean. All in all, it was a place prime for living. Wings often came from other Weyrs to use the area for drills; Ista rarely experienced anything other than warm, sunny days.

It was not vastly different from Southern Weyr, but after spending the last eight turns here, M'zaji found himself calling Ista Weyr home. He leaned back into his beach chair, eyes cast out to the horizon. The sun setting streaked a myriad of sultry hues; crimson battled with tangerine for supremacy, while mauve and goldenrod were content with the background. The bluerider sipped at his chilled, fruit cocktail and sighed happily. He wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

<< What if you get chosen for the new Weyr? >> astute Kaedrelath gently interjected into his rider's thoughts, offering a seriously possible chance. The bluerider pursed his lips, and shrugged. He looked over at his blue, sprawled across the sands a few lengths away. Would you like relocating? I've grown so comfortable here at Ista, I don't know that I'd want to move, rider admitted to dragon. Kaedrelath warbled softly, soothing his pensieve lifemate. << I was only bringing up the possibility. Its hard to say whether or not we'll be chosen to go. How will they choose which pairs go, and which stay? And when? Ista cannot go on for much longer like this, Kaedrelath warned with a low, discontented rumble.

M'zaji agreed all too heartily with his blue. A new Weyr was the right move; he supported Helirra and D'tai in this decision. But the new Weyr was already occupied. The Senior Weyrwoman's queen had ceased rising to mate, and without a clutching queen... The Weyr would surely fail. Therefore, Favan was being asked to transfer. This new Weyr surely had to have room for a wing or two at least, to alleviate some of the stress on Ista's beholden. The rider frowned and chewed on his straw. What if the new Weyr was taking only Favan? Not necessarily a bad thing; M'zaji was sure there would be plenty at Ista Weyr who would be glad to see the goldrider off.

But a power-crazed queenrider was the least of their worries.

<< Things will work themselves out, the blue dragon assured his rider, but the rider was not all that convinced. With a sigh, and another sip of his cocktail, M'zaji made himself forget about the Weyr's troubles for the time being. There was a beautiful sunset, and he was going to enjoy it!

"I think it's a terrible idea Mine, that woman and that gold? I mean... well of course I'd obey her if she ever noticed me and told me to do something but only because I have no choice. She's a brute, and her rider's no better. That Weyr, wherever it is, is in for a nasty shock."

L'thor sighed and patted Raith's neck as they circled in search of a nice spot to set down. "I know love, I agree. Not a chance I'm going along with her, if people are in fact being taken, unless there's a really juicy reward on offer. Mark you, this place isn't exactly stellar right at the moment; food might be better at Favan's Weyr." They would have to wait and see he supposed, nothing else for it. Maybe he would just go along with whatever V'kain decided... though that would be difficult, as the brown rider probably already had dibs on doing whatever it was he did. Ah well.

"We could set down there," Raith pointed out after a moment, "I don't know Kaedrelath well at all but it looks like he's got a nice spot. Besides, he is rather handsome. I shouldn't mind being chased by him at all!"

L'thor shrugged; he had plenty of big decisions coming up soon, leaving this one to Raith sounded good to him. Having reached a consensus, the pair began to circle downward, their usual love of flashy steep dives forgotten in the pensive mood that thrummed between them. What next? Would they only take riders to the new Weyr, or would they want to bring some candidates over too? If they knew where the Weyr was they might have a better idea, but as they didn't all that was left to them or anyone else was gossip and speculation.

As they approached the ground, Raith bugled a greeting to the resting blue. "Good evening Kaedrelath, I hope you don't mind if Mine and I join you and Yours." If he did, well, he could put up with them; she'd touched down now and wasn't about to leap into the air again.

L'thor's thoughts were similar; he knew the rider - M'zaja or something - about as much as Raith knew his blue, but he'd never heard anything too vicious said about the man that he recalled. "Good evening," he called as he released himself from the straps and hopped to the ground, "L'thor and Raith looking for a nice spot to relax, do you mind if we join you?"

The stretch of beach that M'zaji and Kaedrelath had settled on was not without its fair share of Istans. Beach chairs and umbrellas littered the area; but, it was the most sparsely occupied. The bluerider had sought out solitude, specifically, which was an odd thing. M'zaji was a friendly, out-going rider who was rarely without a friend or companion of some sort.

Kaedrealth rumbled disconsolately; << I am with you. >>

M'zaji grimaced at his own folly. Yes, Kae- I know you are. I didn't mean that you were unfavorable company, he hastily tried to smooth his blue's proverbial ruffled feathers. The dragon snorted, eyeing his rider speculatively- but his attention was snatched up by a spiralling-downward green and her rider. M'zaji shaded his eyes against the brightly setting sun to watch the pair land. Kaedrelath warbled a pleasant greeting to the green; she was vaguely familiar. Then again, so was every green at Ista Weyr. Unfortunately, he didn't remember names. << Good evening! For your company, such fine company, I don't mind at all- and I cannot speak for my rider, but I would assume he'd enjoy your rider's company greatly. Its rare to find him alone! >> he informed Raith, his voice starting out like cascade of happy musical notes, peals of glee ringing off a set of windchimes as a warm summer breeze ran through.

As Kaedrelath suspected, M'zaji did not mind L'thor's company at all! The bluerider made a show of getting out of his chair, careful not to spill the last half of his cocktail, grinning the entire time. "No, not at all! I'd love some company," he assured the greenrider warmly. "I'd offer you a chair, but.." he trailed off, gesturing with his arms spread wide open to indicate the lack of unnoccupied beach chairs. "But, feel free to sit! I have a blanket in my bags I could spread out, or you could go wrestle someone's chair out from underneath them- or, you could have mine!" The bluerider spoke quickly, his words tumbled out unfettered. Was he... a lightweight? Well, yes. He was; and the small amount of alcohol he'd had made his tongue loose and his mood friendly, warm, and easy.

M'zaji grinned at L'thor, and stuck out his free hand. "L'thor? I think I've seen you around Ista. Well, probably, considering just how many people are in the Weyr," he remarked sourly, a grimace to emphasize his point. But he recovered quickly, a smile back on his face as though a grimace had never been. "Well, I'm M'zaji, and that blue is my Kaedrelath! Nice to meet you, properly!"

Raith gave a rumbled of pleased amusement as L'thor freed her from the riding harness. "I'm glad! Mine isn't often by himself either, he likes to talk far too much to be alone all the time. Oh, I'm Raith by the way in case you didn't know; it's getting so hard to keep track these days." She had no doubt she would have been unable to recall the blue's name were he less distinctive; she might be a lovely green, but her markings weren't exactly what one would call striking. Besides, even if he recognized her he might not have known her name; as she said, it was getting so easy to lose track these days.

"I've heard that problem might be solved soon though," Raith commented as she settled down. "Some people are quite sure that a large number of riders and others will go with Cheoth's to her new Weyr... wherever that might be." Nobody seemed to know that piece of information, come to that nobody really seemed to know anything at all other than that the power-hungry young goldrider was to have her own Weyr to play with. All in all, it was a fairly worrying situation.

L'thor grinned at the other man's greeting - clearly somebody was in the midst of unwinding - and tossed Raith's straps off up the beach; they wouldn't come to any harm in the dry sand. "Not to worry," he grinned as he dropped to the ground and folded himself into a comfortable lotus position, "I rather like sitting in the sand." He fancied a drink himself now, and fortunately he had the means to acquire one. In his weyr there was a wine skin, still mostly full, sitting on the table. After a few moments of thinking very hard about it, the wine appeared before him along with a rusty coloured flitt. Almost the moment he relieved the brown of his burden, three more flitts appeared with various greeting calls. As Rust had already claimed his lap - and curled up shyly to hide his face from the stranger - the other three plopped themselves down in the warm sand beside him and demanded attention.

Grinning ruefully at M'zaji, L'thor fussed over them as fairly as was possible with only one hand; the other was busy with his wine. "Ah-ha, as you see the fair has arrived. The browns are Rust and Dancer, and the blues are River and Dusk. As you can see, they're quite a handful." How had he ever let himself acquire four flitts? He wouldn't give any of them up of course, but that didn't mean keeping the quartet happy was plain sailing; demanding little beasts they were. "Useful though," he added with a wider grin as he raised his wineskin to the blue rider, "very useful if you have a tendency to leave things behind in the weyr."

Kaedrelath was certainly a distinctively-colored blue; down from his nose, dark blue brightened to a clear, almost electric blue. He threw his wings open to readjust them, leaving them half-open to better soak up what little sun remained. << Raith? A very nice name, for such a nice green, >> the blue smoothly complimented, adding a gentle croon for emphasis. But his happiness turned into displeasure, a dissatisfied rumble tickling his throat. << There are far too many to keep track of, >> Kaedrelath agreed, almost hesitant to speak the obvious truth.

His reluctance to support Cheoth, depsite the fact she was a gold, was plain. He snorted dismissively, rustling his wings as he adjusted them again. He lifted his head high, craning his neck to peer around the beach, as if checking to make sure the gold in question wasn't around. << I, for one, would be more than happy to stay at Ista. I am happy here, and M'zaji thinks of the Weyr as his home. It is, of course, my home- I was shelled and hatched here, I have lived nowhere else. >> It was a lengthy speech, by a dragon's standards, but it was something the blue felt strongly about. Both he and M'zaji would put up a vehement fight if they were asked to transfer.

As long as M'zaji wasn't in his current state, at least.

The bluerider was happy. More than happy. He had pleasant-seeming company, and it had begun to cool off thanks to the sun sinking below the horizon. He was secretly grateful that L'thor had assured him the sand was a comfortable enough seat; the bluerider liked the beachchair he had secured for himself with a few dirty looks and hasty motions. Careful not to spill his drink, he returned to sitting in his chair. After a few moments, the bluerider was about to offer his companion greenrider a drink.. but was beaten to the punch. By a firelizard, no less! With nothing short of incredulity etched across his face, M'zaji was at a loss for words. Firelizards could be trained to retrieve objects? That was.. pretty freaking awesome!

"I didn't know they could do that," he admitted with a slow grin, pointing first at Rust then at the wineskin L'thor now held. "Can all of them do it?" He asked, pointing at the other three 'lizards. M'zaji had no firelizards of his own, therefore was woefully ignorant of their talents and skills. "I don't have any," he informed the greenrider quite matter-of-factly. It wasn't that he didn't want any- he wouldn't mind having one, or two even. He just hadn't ever had the opportunity.

Raith crooned in return at the compliment but swiftly sobered and sighed heavily at the blue's words. "Yes, this is our home... Despite how things have been or late I think L'thorMine and I shall remain. It is, as you say, our home... and I think Cheoth and Hers are... are... not quite prepared to command a Weyr." And that was putting it as polity as she was capable of. Of course she would obey the gold if given an order, that was only natural, but it didn't mean she had to like the fat brute.

L'thor chuckled and gave Rust some more fuss for behaving so well. "Rust is best at it, most reliable, but River is quite good as well though he's a bit dappy and sometimes brings me the shiniest thing in his vicinity instead of what I wanted. If I want something heavier than one can carry alone, though, Rust - and again to a lesser degree River - is good at chivvying the others into helping him." Dusk, he suspected, was just too lazy to want to learn the concept of 'fetch' and Dancer... well he was just too busy being happy to pay attention to anything more complex than a general summons. "You can do more with golds and bronzes of course as they're brighter, but I wouldn't swap my boys for a shiny thing that can search out anyone in the Weyr you can picture for them or whatever." Honestly he didn't know if the larger flitts could do things like that, he'd never asked anyone who owned one, but he didn't much care what they could do. Greens, browns, and blues were the best when it came to flitts; he imagined having a gold sitting on your shoulder for any period of time could get quite tiring.

Raith's sober mood was one to match Kaedrelath's. The blue had quickly become quiet and pensive. He watched his rider for a moment, as though M'zaji's current carefree and relaxed demeanor would spread. The dragon snorted, and sighed heavily. He returned his attention to Raith, snaking his head around to face her. << She is a queen, yet.. She should not have her own Weyr. >> It was like Kaedrelath was stating rocks had wings. He sounded confused, and troubled; a frown would certainly alight his face if anatomy allowed it.

His rider, on the other hand, was beginning to abandon worrying. This greenrider's firelizards were far more interesting, and entertaining! "Rust is that brown, right? And River is that one?" M'zaji inquired, pointing at them in turn. "I'm sure that little trick of theirs comes in handy pretty often. If I had a mark for every time I forgot something in my weyr, and ended up needing it- well, I'd be filthy rich!" M'zaji exclaimed with a wry chuckle. "How'd you end up with so many of 'em?" To M'zaji, four firelizards was a healthy-sized fair. He had none, so, four was definitely a surplus.

It was a strange feeling. Her nature compelled her to follow Cheoth or any gold without question but her mind disagreed. "Indeed... But we can't help what is given to her I suppose. At least we have the choice of remaining here." Or so she assumed. It was still possible that there would be no option, that Cheoth would be told to just choose some riders to take with her. She didn't want to go; she didn't like Cheoth, and this was her home. Trying not to feel too worried, the green settled more comfortably into the sand. She was sure they would be allowed to choose, fairly sure, a little sure, it was quite probable... Surely they would have a choice. Surely.

L'thor sent feelings of comfort to his lifemate, there wasn't much else he could do for her right now, before returning his attention to his own conversation with a grin. "Well. Before I became a candidate I was a Trader; we traveled coastal routes mostly, and my sister found a nest of flitt eggs on the beach one day. We took them meaning to sell, but they hatched before we got the chance. I was on watch at the time and had managed to impress River the insane light blue, and Dusk the fat lazy dark blue before anyone else arrived. Rust in my lap here is River's get; he flew a green some while ago and the green's owner and I had something of an epic hunt to find the clutch. I found a clutch eventually of about the right age, but there was only one living egg so we played dice for it and I won. Dancer here I won at the last gather betting on a runner race... I never meant to end up with four," he concluded with a laugh and a shake of his head, "but when I got Rust's egg and then Dancer's I got attached to them before I could give them away."

No more flitts for him, not even if he found a really tiny egg that was sure to be a lovely green. He must not allow himself to be tempted, four was more than enough.

Kaedrelath was in the same mindset as Raith. He was not a queen, therefore, felt compelled to obey and follow Cheoth simply for the fact that she was a queen. Any dragon would have felt the same way, except for another gold. But, principally, the blue disagreed with everything that Cheoth did, and stood for. On that same note, M'zaji was on the opposite end of the spectrum as Favan. She was a power-hungry, ambitious woman with no regard for anyone, or anything but herself. The blue dragon snorted derisively, rumbling with discontent. << Why does our conversation revolve around something so unpleasant? >> he inquired of his companion, his tone relaying exasperation with the gold. << It is a rather nice night, and we should be enjoying it, >> Kaedrelath admonished gently. He readjusted himself, tucking his wings close to his body as the sun dipped further below the horizon. It was fruitless to try and catch any rays, now.

With a deep frown, the bluerider looked down, straight to the bottom of his glass. It was empty. "Well, that's a shame," he muttered with a sigh. Wiggling the glass down into the sand, M'zaji made a mental note not to forget it. But, someone would find the glass in the sand sometime tomorrow; the bluerider had a horrible memory. He brightened as L'thor went on to explain just how he had come to be owner of all four firelizards. "You used to be a trader? Huh! That sounds fun- a lot more fun than I had growing up. I'm from Southern Weyr, its where I Impressed Kae. My Mum and I lived down there, my Da was some sort of Journeyman, I don't really know. Never met the guy. Anyway! I was apprenticed to a local weaver for some time, but nothing ever came of it," he explained with a waggle of his thick fingers, indicating his lack of skill at weaving. "But, even at Southern, I never got a chance at flit eggs. Funny, innit? But, you seem to have had a fair bit of luck with 'em! Good for you!"

The bluerider leaned back in his lounge chair, making himself comfortable. His fingers itched to be around another drink but.. He was just way too comfy to get up and obtain another.

Raith made a soft noise in the back of her throat, somewhere between an amused rumble and a happy croon. "You're right. It's a lovely evening, and the future looks bright! After this move, there won't be so much competition for good sunning spots and food. Life will improve for us, and for Ours. Cheoth... soon she will not be here anymore, there's no reason to dwell on her." All in all it was a good situation now she thought more about it. So long as she wasn't forced to go to the new Weyr - which L'thor thought was highly unlikely and realistically she tended to agree with him - Cheoth would never be her problem. Until this had come up, it had looked as though she would become Ista's senior queen some day; no longer.

"Yes," L'thor smiled and nodded, allowing himself a touch of nostalgia, "it was a good life. New horizons every day, new friends, sleeping out under the stars when the weather was good... I miss being on the road sometimes, but of course I wouldn't swap what I have here to go back there." He hadn't really needed to add that last bit; any rider would understand that no matter how much you might have liked your life before Impressing, you would never wish that your life had turned out differently. How perfect to be bonded to a dragon, especially one as lovely as his was.

"I suppose you'll have to keep your eyes peeled," L'thor went on with a grin after a few moments, taking a swig of his wine. "I heard there's supposed to be a wild gold laid a clutch somewhere on the beach. Maybe if you have a look you'd be lucky enough to find it, or if somebody else does they might want to sell one or two of the eggs. I think I might do that if any of my boys manage to catch a female again, I really don't think I could handle anymore: I get little enough of my bed to myself these days as it is!" A little green though... if there was a way to know for sure what colour a flitt would come out, he would certainly be tempted, very very tempted.

Offering a soothing croon to Raith, the blue dragon extended one of his wings and beckoned her closer. He usually was not a fan of physical contact, but he was enjoying their conversation and certainly would not mind a cuddle with such a gorgeous green. << Right! It is lovely, >> the blue readily agreed, his whirling eyes shifting from the sunset to Raith, then back again. << I do enjoy watching sunsets, as does M'zaji. It is so very relaxing to come out to the beach at night, watch the sun set and the stars come out.. I do love watching the stars, >> Kaedrelath admitted, as though there was ever a doubt. His hide mimicked the night sky, so it was only logically assumed that he was a fan of star-gazing. << Tell my, Raith- do you like watching the stars? >>

Well, he had to agree with L'thor there! M'zaji did occasionally miss his old life, and his mother even more. But he wouldn't trade Kaedrelath to be able to have even a day back where he had come from. "It was a good life," M'zaji copied L'thor with a slow nod and an easy smile as he reminisced. "I can't say I often slept under the stars, but I do miss my Mum, and Southern. It was a nice place to grow up- though, I suppose its as crowded as we are."

The bluerider couldn't help but frown as he thought of his childhood home in the same state his current home was in. It was a troubling thought. Southern Weyr had always been such a happy, carefree place in his mind. To think of it overridden with people, with food in short supply and sickness ever-prevalent.. It wasn't pleasant. M'zaji forced the thoughts away and latched onto L'thor's next words. "Oh, yes! that wild clutch. Well, I went beach-hunting maybe a sevenday back. There were quite a fair amount of people out doing the same thing, and none of us had any luck. Not to my knowledge, at least," the bluerider admitted to the greenrider with a shrug. "But, if someone does find the clutch, I am definitely interested in buying an egg or two. I don't want to be greedy, mind you. I don't even have a preference as to which color!"
PostPosted: Wed Aug 26, 2009 7:19 am

Well, she was never one to say no to attention from a handsome blue! Raith rose to her feet and padded over to settle down beside Kaedrelath. "Yes, I like to watch the stars, and sunsets too. Life seems so much simpler when you're stargazing, or when you're flying, especially at night. Seems like there's nothing in the whole world that could really be a problem, or it does to me anyway." That was also the case when she was flying very very fast and pulling off daring aerial stunts, but that was a feeling of elation rather than peace, quite a different thing.

What might his old home be like at the minute? It wasn't a fixed place of course, rather it was a group of people. He hadn't communicated with any of them for a couple of turns now, they'd drifted apart he supposed. They couldn't imagine what his life was like now, and he could barely remember how theirs was. Maybe he should track them down sometime soon though, just to say hello. River and Dusk might enjoy seeing their clutch mates again, after all.

"I suppose chances are somebody will find it eventually," L'thor chuckled as River climbed up his shirt to settle on his shoulder. "I've seen more people than usual down on the beach when I've been out flying, I suppose that's why. Unless she's a really clever little queen, or unless the whole thing was just a rumor, I'm sure one of the search parties will stumble across her clutch in the end. Getting her to give it up, of course, could be quite a challenge." If it was a green that wouldn't be an issue, the silly little thing would probably have utterly forgotten her eggs, but gold flitts were famed for being protective of their clutches. Whoever found the eggs, L'thor suspected, would be in for a good scratching when the mother found them poking around.

Kaedrelath crooned happily when Raith accepted his offer for a snuggle. He covered her with one wing, and gave her a quick nuzzle cheek-to-cheek before cocking his head and listening to what she had to say in response to him. The starry-colored blue rumbled a pleasant agreement with the green; watching sunsets and star-gazing was certainly peaceful! << It is also more enjoyable with such a pleasant companion, such as yourself, >> he complimented her simply. Maybe the blue was feeling some of the effects of his rider's several drinks; the male dragon was not typically so smooth and suave. << Its easier to forget stress and troubles when there's something as beautiful as a sunset, or a sky full of twinkling stars, in front of you. >>

M'zaji's mind wandered and he thought of his mother; what would she be doing right now? The bluerider was startled to realize that she'd be considered old, by now! He was closing in on thirty turns, which would make his mother close to fifty-eight, or so. Regardless of age, Miarelle would probably be going about her business as usual, smacking lolly-gagging kitchen workers with a spoon, adding a pinch of spice here, a dash of seasoning there. The woman practically ran Southern's kitchens, in all but rank and title. She liked having the control, but didn't want to have the responsibility in case anything went wrong. M'zaji chuckled, remembering how odd his mother was- but his chuckle turned into a sigh. He needed to find time to visit her, and soon.

He couldn't help but brighten as L'thor went on about the wild gold's rumored clutch. Lately, the bluerider had tried to convince himself that that was all it was; just a rumor. Without any proof of the clutch, how could he be sure otherwise? "Surely with the amount of Istans gone out looking, it should have been discovered by now. Either she's one sly, clever little gold- or there was never a clutch, only a rumor," the bluerider observed with a pensive frown. Maybe he'd make another trip out onto the beach.. Wait. What was he talking about? They were out on the beach now, just making idle conversation- why not search for the clutch now?
PostPosted: Wed Aug 26, 2009 8:03 am

Raith smirked, as much as a dragon ever could, and turned her head to better regard the handsomely marked blue. "Mmm, extremely beautiful stars... and I have to agree. Dragons aren't meant to be alone, of course we always have Ours, but the company of your own kind is needed as well for real happiness. Well, that's how I feel about it anyway, I know not everyone enjoys socializing." She never had understood loners. Having a bit of space to yourself when you wanted it was nice, but to prefer being alone all the time? Very strange indeed, she didn't think she could live without casual conversation, or just easy silence in the company of one she knew well.

L'thor nodded, wincing slightly as dancer decided he wanted shoulder too; the brown was far heavier than River, and thus had to make more use of his claws to climb. "Even if this clutch is just a rumor," he said, absentmindedly stroking Dusk who was still curled up in the sand, "somebody is bound to find a clutch in the end. Flitts might be more common on the coast of southern, but as three of my dear pests evidence, there are those who lay here on Ista." It would be nice to find a clutch; he could give one to Veyes, one to V'kain, maybe sell any more that there were, extra marks were never a bad thing.

While Raith presented her argument very validly, Kaedrelath had to politely disagree. He rumbled thoughtfully, and canted his head to the side. << Being alone isn't always such a bad thing. While you're right, we dragons are not solitary or unsocial creatures.. I do not mind spending time alone. It can be as quiet and peaceful as the moment we share now, >> the blue spoke quietly, and very matter-of-factly. If it were a matter of choosing between unpleasant company and no company, the blue would certainly chose to be alone. By no means did he prefer to always be alone, but it wasn't ever a negative thing to want some alone time.

M'zaji watched as the greenrider's firelizards vied for his two shoulders, unable to stop himself from chuckling quietly. He gestured to his own shoulders questioningly. "I have two shoulders, too- if you don't want all four of them sitting on your head," the bluerider offered with a wry grin, though he wasn't so sure the 'lizards would be so keen on snuggling up to a stranger. "I don't doubt that there are clutches out there on the beach- just maybe not this one, specifically. Its been a while since I first heard any rumors.. Wouldn't the clutch have hatched by now, anyway?" It had been several sevendays, at least. How long did a firelizard's clutch have to sit before the eggs were hard enough to hatch? M'zaji could honestly say that he had little to no knowledge of firelizards, much less their flight to egg to hatching schedule.
