Hatsui Prologue

Night had fallen across the dessert nation of Hokkan, and most of the residents of the Imperial Palace had retired for the evening. Deep inside the Sergalio a few where still awake, one not of his own desire. Hatsui sat in a chair infront of a table sprawled with assorted star maps. Something was bother the frail man, he couldn't seem to sleep. He carefully pushed back his chair and rose. He walked carefully across the cool tiled floor to the door way and pushed open the screen. A warm breeze caressed his pale skin as he stepped out onto the walkway. He looked about, and heard giggling from a few rooms away, some of the girls must be talking. Some people believed he lived in the Sergalio to keep him out of the way, for some didn't believe in his powers even though he had proved his ability of foresight many times before. He believed he lived here because it suited him, he was a tool to his prince, must like the concubines where to the Emporer, he was called when he was needed, and this life suited him fine, he adored his prince and would do anything to make him happy. He looked to the sky and soon found the constellation he desired, Genbu, he studied them for a while before turning to return to his room. He approached a small table and poured some water from a basin into a glass. As he lifted it to his lips, he felt it, but it was too late. The cup fell to the ground with a crash, Hatsui's body following.

A concubine had just stepped out of her room a few doors down when she heard the crash and proceeded thump. She walked down to Hatsui's room, the door still slid open and gasped when she saw him lying there on the floor, of course she had heard of the sickly mans ability, but seeing it was different. His green eyes where rolled back and his eyelids fluttering rapidly, his mouth was open and twitching as if he were trying to speak and his whole body was twitching on the floor. The concubine became even more alarmed when she saw blood begin to stain the deep green robe he wore, he had handed on the broke cup. She backed up and yelled "Someone please help! Lord Hatsui is hurt!" A guard hearing the concubines yell came around the corner quickly, and a few other concubines who had been talking came from there room. The guard entered the room and saw the Prince's oracle on the floor, he also knew of the strange fits the man fell into. As the two watched Hatsui's whole body seized up at once, his back arching off the floor before he collapsed unconscious on the floor. By this time the Sergalio's healer, a formidable woman, had arrived, she knew of the boys fits also and how clumsy he could be. "Move out of the way girl." the woman pushed aside the concubine. She knelt down with a basket and lifted up Hatsui's head, his breathing was heavy but even, and as she started to try and remove the man's robe she saw something, a single tear rolled down his face, and smile caressed his pale face.

She's finally coming...

The Prince had been asleep, dreaming of a world where everythign was back to how it should be, when he awoke with a start. His eye felt like it was burning, though he didn't quite understand why. His mark hadn't bothered him in quite some time, so it was strange for it to act up now. He gave it a rub, before reaching over at grabbing the headwrap he always wore. Well, it appeared that Sora was up. He wasn't going to be able to get back to sleep until he knew exactly what was going on. As he stepped out of bed, he heard the familiar rustle of bedsheets from another room, as well as footsteps. He had hoped he wouldn't wake her, but it seemed that wasn't the case. A young woman's face soon appeared in his vision, as she looked at him with concern. Atleast, as much concern as soulless eyes could show. "My lord, are you alright?" Had she not been enthralled by him, he wouldn't look at her, but after so long, he hadn't been able to find a cure for what he had done to her. He doubted that looking at her was going to change things. Moving over to her, he gave his dear Keiko a pat on the head. "It's alright, Keiko. Go back to your bed and get some sleep." Nodding, she slipped back into her quarters, and after a moment, he could hear her soft breathing. He really had to be careful how he worded things with her. Due to the magic, she had fallen asleep at his feet before, and it only made him feel awful.

Pulling on a robe, the young Prince left his room. There was just something that was nagging at him, and the best person he knew of to ask about such things was his own oracle. It had been sheer dumb luck that he had happened to come across Hatsui that day, so many years ago. The man had been so ill. He chuckled, softly. Some might call it fate that they were destined to meet. They would have met sooner or later, it might as well be sooner. However, as he headed into the seraglio, he noticed a bit more hustle and bustle than was usual, and an odd sense of urgency. That worried him. Something had happened, and he had a distinct impression it had to do with Hatsui. He started to rush, careful to keep his eyes from locking with anyone's as he made his way towards Hatsui's room. Sure enough, there was a crowd standing outside of the doorway, whom soon parted when the saw the Prince coming. He quickly stepped into the room, seeing the healer sitting near Hatsui. He knew the woman would take good care of his oracle. "What happened?" he asked, taking a glance at the young man. Oddly enough, Hatsui looked... happy. What was going on in those visions of his?

The healer hadn't even noticed the Prince's arrival, she was too busy removing the oracle's bloodied robe to dress the wound he had inflicted upon himself. "Someone get be a basin of warm water!" she turned and hollard and then stopped, "Your majesty, I'm sorry I didn't see you there." she bowed her head before turning back to Hatsui, "It appears your oracle was being as graceful as ever, and fell onto a piece of glass..." she took a cloth from her basket and brushed gently against the wound on the boy's side, she found the fragment and carefully pulled it out, Hatsui barely even moved, even though the wound seemed quite painful.

Watching the healer tend to his oracle, the Prince supressed a soft chuckle. He knew the young man had a tendency to not pay much attention when his seizure like visions struck him. Though, given how often Hatsui hurt himself, Sora was wondering if he shouldn't put him in a room with nothing but cushions. It might help prevent such nasty injuries. Carefully, the Prince lifted Hatsui's head onto his lap, while the healer tended to him. "Why does that not suprise me?" he said, softly, watching Hatsui's expression for any sort of change. He never looked the boy in the eyes, not wanting to do what he had to others so long ago. It was clear he was worried about him. Hatsui was his close friend and confidante.

A servant girl arrived the the requested basin and set it down beside the healer. The woman took a clean cloth and dipped it in the warm water and began to wash the wound tenderly. After she pressed a clean cloth to the wound and began to wrap it. Hatsui's breathing had returned to normal as he laid there still in the Prince's lap. After the healer had moved her things out of the way, and removed what remained of the cup she stood and turned to the doorway where the girls still lurked. "Don't you girls have other things to be doing? Like sleeping? Shoo!" She cast up her hands and the girls scattered from the door. She walked over and closed it, knowing they would have to redress the boy, and not needing the whole sergalio to see him. She walked to the cabinet and opened it removing the folded robe, she then walked over and set it on the bed, before kneeling to assist the prince in moving the boy, not that the Prince couldn't easily lift the boy himself, by Genbu, she would have probably lifted the boy up if she had needed. "Lets get him changed before he catches a chill."

Carefully hoisting the young man, Sora allowed the healing woman to aide him in doing so. He wouldn't have had a problem doing it all by himself, but if he did, he doubted she would let him. The healer was a very brash woman, and he respected her for that. As soon as he was laid on the bed, the Prince nodded. The last thing he wanted to happen was for his seer to become ill. "I'll take care of it. You can go." He was stronger, and while he didn't doubt the woman could handle it, he thought that his dear Hatsui would be quite embarressed to know he was stripped in front of the woman.

The woman boed respectfully to the Prince, she knew the man took no shame in caring for his Oracle, and doing things that any normal noble would leave to a servant, it was almost romantic how the Prince cared for the young man. She gathered her things and slid open the door to once again come face to face with two young concubines still lingering. "I said SHOO!" she tossed up a hand and the girls went running, she sighed and turned back to the room. "Good night your majesty" with that she slid the door closed.

Hatsui rolled his head slightly and let out a small moan. He hadn't woken but he was slowly slipping back into reality. Depending on the vision, it could take him a few minutes or a few hours to wake up. One could time could be recalled of him predicting a terrible wind storm in the southern province, the boy didn't wake for close to half a day and when he did it was with a loud and terrifying scream as if he were trapped in the storm yet still.

Once the healer had stepped out of the room, the Prince took a better look at his Oracle. He shook his head, sighing softly. He had worried the Prince with the wound, which made Sora wonder if he should find some sort of soft floor for Hatsui. Given how often he fell, it would atleast make him easier to tend to. A soft chuckle slipped out of his lips, as he leaned down to stroke the man's hair. "What am I going to do with you, Hatsui?"

Carefully, he moved the man so that he was propping Hatsui up with his chest, disrobing him and tossing the bloody garment to the side. He looked at the man for a moment, before redressing him, keeping Hatsui's head in his lap. Sora took very good care of his Oracle. Hearing Hatsui moan a bit, he let his hand run through the other man's hair. "Come on, Hatsui. Wake up."

Hatsui's rolled to one said again as another small noise escaped his mouth. He was regaining conciseness. As his senses returned a smell came him, that soft wonderful smell he knew so well, his Prince's smell, and something was touching him, softly stroking his hair. He just wanted to lay there a while, but he heard a voice, no his voice, his Prince's soft wondrous voice, asking him to wake up. His eyes fluttered open and he looked up, he was lying in his Prince's lap, when did that happen? When did his Prince even get here? Oh, right, his vision, WAIT! His Vision! Hatsui sat up suddenly, but fell back down instantly as a pain shot through his side, he clutched it, feeling bandages beneath his robe. Oh gods, he has done it again, gone and hurt himself. He would hear about it from the Prince, he was always so clumsy. But no! He was getting distracted again! "My Prince! I've had a vision!" he looked up at the Prince then quickly averted his eyes, knowing his Prince's sensitivity to being stared directly in the eyes.

The Prince was about to tell Hatsui he shouldn't move when the young man sat up quickly, which only caused him to sigh, shaking his head a bit. He cared for Hatsui, but the boy didn't know how to take it easy. When Hatsui made even a motion of looking up into his eyes, he quickly shut them, putting his hand on the man's head to tilt it down before he opened them. Due to his powers, he didn't want to entrance Hatsui, though there were times he wondered if he hadn't already done it. Hatsui was exceedingly loyal to him, and really only to him. Looking down at Hatsui, he nodded. "I figured as much. What did you see, Hatsui?"

Hatsui moved his sights to the wall across from where they lay, he had gotten used to not talking to his Prince while looking at him. He took a deep breath and let out a shaky sigh, he was a twitter with the information he had to give and was trying not to move around too much since his side hurt. "She here, the Priestess, she has descended to us! Oh my Prince, she is magnificent! i have seen her, come from the skys like a graceful bird! She is here! I have seen her amongst the great tree, she is in Koku Village my lord!" Hatsui's eyes glittered with excitement, his one hand reached up to grasp his Prince's hand squeezing it lightly.

Letting the young man continue to use his lap as a pillow, the Prince stroked Hatsui's hair, listening as he spoke about the Priestess. It would explain why his eye burned so much earlier. The Priestess had finally come to Hokkan. Looking down at his Oracle's words, he nodded, all the while smiling. "That's wonderful. Though you should rest now. You need to heal. I'll get you a tincture before I leave tonight which should help." The Priestess was there. He was very excited. As Hatsui grasped for his hand, he returned the small squeeze, looking down at his little seer. Soon. He hoped that once the Priestess had summoned Genbu, his curse might finally be lifted. In the morning, they would leave for Koku Village. For now, however, they both needed rest, though the Prince doubted he would be able to sleep.

He could feel his Prince now shared his excitment. He listneed as his Prince spoke. "You are too kind my Prince." Hatsui sat up, this time slowly, grasping carefully at his side. He knew his Prince would go at haste to find her. "I think I would be best here, making sure things are prepared for when you return with the Priestess." he closed his eyes and smiled torwards his Prince. "I will consult the stars and see if they will aid us in calling forth the other Senshi." He went to try and stand before sitting back down. His side was throbbing now, he really needed to learn how to control his power, or be less clumsy, either would be beneficial.

Sighing, the Prince watched his Oracle sit up. He was very very tempted to tie the man down to his bed just so he wouldn't move around and aggrevate his wound. "The only thing you are doing is getting some rest." His seer was stubborn in his desire to help him, but he didn't want the man to do so while he was in so much pain. "Rest. I mean it, Huizhong." The Prince was very serious, only using Hatsui's real name when he was concerned. He sighed, closing his eyes and putting his forehead against the other man's, his hand resting atop his head. Hatsui felt a bit cold, which he supposed was only slightly better than being warm. "I'm worried about you. I don't want you to push yourself so hard, not for me. Please, take care of yourself. I'll find the Priestess and bring her here."
