The air was pleasant with a cool breeze stirring the water of the canyon lake. Kodiak lingered on the bank after his conversation with a merdrac. Glancing upwards, he noted the movement of the afternoon sun. The canyon would be in shadows as the afternoon drew on.
Though his business with the aquatic painter was completed, he was in no hurry to leave. Kodiak settled on the shore and watched a group of humans, not far from him, building a boat.

Ravindra closed her eyes as she soared over the canyon. There was a light breeze making her flight more enjoyable. Giggling to herself she looked down at the ground. Not too far below up ahead was the lake. A stop there sounded nice. Slowly she started her descent to the ground.
As she got closer she noticed some humans working on a boat. Not really wanting to be spotted she quickly altered her path. She landed far up from them on the opposite shore. Sighing, the teen shook her head before dipping it to take a sip of the water. She didn't notice the other painter near by.

A shadow passed over Kodiak as he lay watching the workers. Glancing up he saw a gray painter circle and land on the opposite shore. Noting the feathered wings, he wondered what would bring an aviadracus out of the forest.
Loud exclamations brought his attention abruptly back to the workers. Clumsy humans, he thought watching one of the natives hopping around on one foot.

The young aviadracus was still a little wary being so close to the humans. She jumped at their loud exclamations. Glancing at them, she couldn't help but be amused by the one jumping around on his foot. Shaking her head she took the time to look around the bank. It was then she saw the other painter.
Stretching her wings, she lightly flew over the river to be by him. Maybe it'd be safer with him then by herself. Not that she thought the humans would harm her, she just didn't want to be alone with them. Ravindra landed not too close to him and cleared her throat to gain his attention.

Kodiak heard the rustle of wings when the aviadracus took off from the opposite shore. Thinking the young female had merely stopped for a drink and left, Kodiak didn't bother to look back across the water.
He bemusedly watched the other humans rush to the aid of the first one hopping in circles. A rush of air and the sound of claws grabbing the ground near him took him by surprise. He quickly sat up and turned to see the same young painter just as she made a noise.
"Hello," he said amiably. "I don't see many feather wings this far from the forest. Are you lost?"
