Bipolar was stretched out in front of the den, letting the hot and humid summer breeze (which could hardly be considered a breeze at all) ruffle the fur on her protruding belly. The violet-pelted wolf was pregnant, and surprising even to herself, happily so. Her tail wagged as she thought about the puppies to come in the coming weeks, their wiggling warmness, their yips. At night, the nightmares subsided to dreams about her children, their small family growing larger. Especially now that her little Lithium had found someone.
She didn't know for sure, but the way Lithi moved, the way she danced... It reminded Bipolar of herself when she'd met Para. Just the look in Lithi's dark eyes-- that pure glee at the thought of a boy... It made the she-wolf smile.
She was sure that, with time, she'd meet the boy that had her eldest daughter so enthralled. With time... And she looked forwards to that day.

It was almost the full moon! That was the day she and Seiphyr had agreed upon to meet, once every month when he'd tear himself away from his makeshift family in Gomorrah to come to Agua Azul, just to be with her.
Lithium said a quick goodbye to Mother, licked her on the cheek, and danced into the forest. Bipolar was expecting, but puppies would still be a week or two off so Lithi didn't feel guilt at leaving her alone. In fact, she was planning on bringing Seiphyr home tonight, to meet Mother and Father for once and for all... She was nervous and excited. What would they think of him?
LSD... He didn't like him much, but that's what could be expected from a protective brother, right? And Phren, Phren wanted to meet him after she told her all about him. But meeting Mother and Father would be the final test.
So she pranced her lithe body into the forest, between trees and into the opening right on the edge of the packlands, where she always met him. Her tail wouldn't stop wagging as she sat down, billowing dust up around her. Oh, she could hardly wait to see him! Her heart longed to be near him...
Lithium was certain that Seiphyr was her soulmate...

Tauro and Gerda's kids were teenagers now, complete with gangly limbs and long tails...and an ex-amount of fluff and fur, for some odd reason. Gerda said nothing -- but that was normal, she couldn't speak after all -- about the father. He must've been a...werewolf or something! Either way, "Uncle" Seiphyr adored both Switch and Novik. He'd spent their puppyhood with them, with Tauro, who'd become his mother, and Gerda, who was strangely like a caring grandmother even though she and Tauro were sisters.
But now that they were older, albeit with teenage problems of their own, the year-old Seiphyr was ready to start spending some time on his own. Or, better put, with someone special... His soulmate, Lithium.
He padded through the forests, getting closer and closer to Agua Azul. He could smell Twist and Wazaam and their various children and grandchildren, but he remained indifferent. He only wanted to visit Lithi...
Ears pricked up as he picked up her scent. It always swirled with color when he thought her name and smelled her at the same time, a bright violet and white, just like her pelt. His tail wagged and he called out her name joyously, eyes landing on her. She grinned at him and he grinned back, just standing there and taking her in.
"It's been awhile," he murmured softly.

As soon as she laid eyes upon him, the she-wolf danced to his side, her entire body wiggling and wagging with excitement. She carressed his muzzle in licks and nibbles, tail wagging the entire time and small squeaks came up her throat, uninvited but welcomed nonetheless. "It has," she agreed, butting her head against his chest. "I've missed you so much."
After a moment she backed away. "How is the family?" she asked with a small grin. Seiphyr was a big brother to a pair of wolf pups, this she knew. It'd been a month since she'd seen or heard from Sei and those puppies were growing up fast. How old were they now? Five, six months?

As Lithium showed an avid display of affection, Seiphyr could only sit back and wonder why she was so attracted. What made her love him so much? What had he done, except for care for her back? Why were they so perfect together? It blew the white wolf's mind -- although happily so. He grinned and licked the top of her head, tail wagging low.
"Switch is wonderful. Getting a little bit of an attitude, but that's to be expected I suppose." He chuckled. "And Novik..." He paused, thinking of the dragon-painted boy who seemed to be fighting some sort of...inner battle. He frowned. "Novik is estranged... Their father must've been a little crazy. I think he's got a second personality lurking somewhere in his mind."

It was Lithium's turn to frown. Estranged? Sei said this as if it were a bad thing. A sudden ripple of fear ran through her. Would he think the same of her entire family? Should she not have him meet her parents? She looked away, shifting from paw to paw. "Estranged isn't always bad, you know. My sister..." She hesitated with a small whine. "She has voices in her head. And my brother can see things. I'm the most normal pup in my family, Sei..."
She took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. She had to bring him to meet Mother and Father. She wanted them to accept him...and now, even stranger, she wanted him to accept -them-. "Iwantyoutocomehomewithme," she breathed out quickly.
He looked confused.
"I want... I want you to come home with me. I want you to meet my parents." A flush rose upon her cheeks and she looked away.

It wasn't that he disliked Novik; no that wasn't it at all. He was like a little brother to him. It was just odd. Sure, Gerda and Tauro's family was a little handicapped, Gerda being mute, Tauro being sterile and their brother Laos being deaf... But that didn't cause mental instabilities. And the way Novik's gaze could go from yearning and happy to cold as ice... It was a little...unnerving.
But he realized what he'd said a little too late. His turn to blush, he shook his head. "N-No! No, I didn't mean... I didn't mean it was bad!" he scrambled out. "Lithium, I'm sure your family is perfect... I'm sure. You are..."
She said something quickly. Something he didn't quite hear. His head tilted to one side in a silent 'huh?' and she continued on. His heart dropped, then did a nervous flip... Meet her family? He'd already met LSD and he didn't like him. What if Bipolar and Paranoia hated him too... What would Lithium do?
But he squeaked out an "Okay..." and forced a nervous smile. She grinned back, then pranced off into the forest, beckoning him to follow so he did.

Lithium padded numbly, nervously, over underbrush, making her way for the dens on the outside of the territory. Where Mother had been laying. She gulped down her sudden fear at the idea of Seiphyr and Bipolar disliking each other and tried to store it away.
Sure enough, there laid Mother, looking a little confused to see Lithium so soon. Lith forced a smile and sat down. "Momma..." She turned towards where Seiphyr would come out of the forest at, waving a paw in his direction. "I want you to meet my..." What was he? Her friend? No... Her boyfriend? Maybe... Her mate. "Soulmate," she finished with a sharp nod and held her breath, searching Bipolar's face for a reaction.

Seiphyr ran after her, his legs moving in a blur, paws cracking over the ground in swift beats, but he fell still as he came to a clearing. There, laying on the earth, was a dark violet female, her belly round with puppies. She peered up at him with two, unblinking ice blue eyes and seemed to stare into his soul. He winced, his submissive behaviored side wanting to cower down, but he stared back at her.
Instead, she was the one to drop her head. She offered a smile, looking at Lithium, and then peering back over at Seiphyr. Sei's heart battered around inside his chest. "H-Hello," he said softly, giving a small bow and then moving to sit next to Lithium. He placed a paw on her smaller one. "I'm Seiphyr."

Bipolar's stomach fluttered at the sight of the strapping young white wolf, his body painted with watercolor splashes. His tail was held low, but his head high, ears pricked, eyes gleaming with...pride? And fear? She stared, then realized she was staring and looked away.
She looked at Lithium. "Is this really who you want to spend the rest of your life with, through thick and through thin?" Her own voice was soft and tender.
Lithium nodded slowly, nuzzling the white wolf. Seiphyr, his name was. He seemed like a good boy... No bad-boy types for Lith it seemed. It made Bipolar's heart feel settled. But...she couldn't judge him on her own. "Your father would want to know, you know."
And without a warning, she stood up and threw back her head in a soft howl. A recall for him to come home from hunting. She needed him; the family needed him. And she offered another knowing smile.

Lithium smiled up at Seiphyr, his paw on hers, and she wiggled her toes. He smiled slightly, but he looked frightened. Frightened of her parents? She frowned and nudged him. He licked her back.
They waited several minutes, without a reply from Paranoia. Mother looked a little surprised, but Lithium knew Para was probably hunting out of earshot. "Momma. Is everything okay?"

Seiphyr noticed Lithium's worry immediately, before she even frowned. He did his best to swell his chest, puffing the fur out largely, and plaster a smile upon his maw, though he did not feel it. Weren't fathers supposed to be overly protective of their firstborn daughters? What would Paranoia do to him? A ripple of fear raced down his spine and Lithium rubbed against him.
His eyes lingered on Bipolar's enlarged belly. Puppies. She was expecting puppies. He cleared his throat. "About how long off are you? Before they're born, I mean..."

Bipolar sat stock-still, her howl still echoing in her head as it cleared the trees and ranged through the forest. She wore a smile while she waited. Para would reply. He always replied... But he didn't for some reason this time, leaving Bipo's hopes to linger. She glanced at her daughter, then to Seiphyr, who'd spoken.
Slowly, she smiled, not showing the worry for her mate on the outside. Instead, she looked to her swollen belly. "A week, perhaps? Maybe a little longer. Will you stick around for them?" Her eyes glittered warmly.

Lithium looked between Mother and Seiphyr, watching them talk with a wag of her fluffy tail. Oh they were getting along! Her heart swelled with pride and she pranced to her paws. When Bipolar closed her maw and looked back up at the sky, she could see the worry lingering there. So she stepped forwards, nudging Seiphyr out of the way gently. "Momma... We're gonna go looking for him, okay? And we'll bring back food," she promised. She placed a kiss on Bipolar's jaw and nipped Sei's rear, setting him forwards. "Cmon slowpoke!"

Seiphyr opened his mouth to speak, to tell her that no, he probably couldn't wait a week here. He had a family to attend to; he'd promised Tauro, mother, that he'd stay with them until the pups were old enough to fend for themselves. Sure, they were teenagers, but Seiphyr was in charge of teaching them to hunt.
Lithium bounced forwards, announced they were going hunting, and danced off into the woods. Seiphyr shot Bipolar a smile and hurried after her. Catching up, he nudged her. "Are we really going to look for him?"
