5.9.1946 - 24.11.1991 Lover of life, singer of songs
As you all know, on this day, the 24th of November, Freddie Mercury lost his battle with AIDS at his home at precisely 7pm GMT. And even till this day, his loss is still heavily mourned by family, friends and fans worldwide.
However, we all know our little bohemian is up there, rockin' away with all the other rockers of years before. So hey, Freddie, if you read this, have a good one, yeah?
And as expected on this day, his death will always be remembered. How could it not? Freddie was a pretty unforgettable guy himself whee Somewhere, somehow, someone is paying tribute to this one-of-a-kind musician.
Brian May had this to say on his Soapbox:
Brian Well, it's a day I don't like remembering here tonight. But ... What a Life !
Hail Freddie !
love Bri
I know that somewhere in the UK, John is probably mourning in silence. Roger? Well, I'm sure the guy would throw a great party in Freddie's honour. Hur, Freddie loved parties, didn't he?
As for me...well, my tribute isn't much, to be honest, but meaningful. I made a banner on the front page of the guild in memory of Freddie; he was an artist, I'm sure he would appreciate it very much heart Along with this thread.
As today is also Thanksgiving (for those celebrating), have a good one! I'm counting my blessings, and one of them is being a Queen fan 8D
So post your tributes here! Something you want to say about Freddie, written a poem about the guy...go on! Let your heart speak the truth about this day.
Any way the wind blows...doesn't really matter to me... Prince of the universe, you'll never be forgotten...

On the eve of his death, my family made a $100 donation to various AIDS related charities through the musical Spamalot. (( xd )) I hope this helps in the future!

Well, on Thanksgiving, my friends went out to eat and asked for another chair and set a place for Mr. Mercury.. I do say, the owners thought we were quite insane. We also lit a candle for him...

We also lit a candle for him... That's so cool! I didn't do anything that great. I just stayed home and watched a concert video of them...

And you know it's very difficult for me to sing Roger's "Let him go!" and Freddie's "Bismillah" flawlessly since they're on opposite ends of the vocal spectrum!

It is quite sad we lost Freddie, and it is quite sad he lost his battle with AIDs. But as Brian May said [I think it was Brian, might of been Rog], it was better for Freddie to die that see the demise of Queen.

This is really late but I just became a member of the guild yesterday.
To Freddie: You were a great singer, person, leadmen and showmen. You are by far the greatest frontman in Rock n' Roll history. Will always remeber the great music you made and how great you were. Thank you for your role in the greatest band ever.
When people say that it was better that Freddie died than see the demise of Queen that makes me a little upset. Though Queen is no longer together I will never feel that they ended. Thier music is still loved by millions and will stand the test of time. All over the world people still listen to Queen and new queen fans are made. When Iran decided to allow rock n roll music into thier market the first band to have its music in Iran was Queen. I know that Freddie loved his band, his bandmates and the music that they created and he would have done his best to keep the band together.
So in closing let us not think of Queen is band that no longer plays, but as band thats music is still great and will live on forever. I think thats waht our dear Freddie would have wanted more than anything, afteral he loved his music, his band, his bandmates and his fans.
