The Usdia yawned, feeling lethargic from not getting enough sleep the previous night; after the nightmare, she couldn't fall asleep no matter how hard she tried. Climbing up from her spot under the shade of a tree, she made her way through a bush and to a stream that wound through her forest home; maybe a quick dip in the cold water would do her good!
Staring at her own reflection in the stream for a second, she raised an eye brow and giggled at how messy her hair looked; was she thrashing about during the nightmare? Shuddering at the thought, Grace jumped into the stream, pushing thoughts of the nightmare behind her. However, when she came into contact with the water, she found that something was off; after pacing up and down the stream, she finally realized what... The water was warmer than it usually was! Had the summer sun actually warmed the stream water? Well, no matter... She can still bathe in it!
Ducking under the surface, she splashed around to wet her hair and clean her pelt, enjoying the time spent beneath the water. However, she had to resurface again after a few seconds to take in another breath of fresh air. As she did, her wet mane flopped over her eyes, and she giggled to herself, shaking her head to dry it off.
In her bid to dry her mane, however, the Usdia slipped, disappearing under the stream. This time, when she reemerged, most of her body was still under the water; her left hind hoof was trapped under some rocks and mud on the riverbed, and she was unable to free herself. Panicking a little, the Usdia mare called out, worry lacing her voice, "Anyone out there? Help!"
