Taradhia was loving every moment of the Festival. It was so nice to see new faces and make new friends, especially within his own Clan. Instead of going to view the Tree Ceremony, he waited eagerly on the edge of the Shadow Clan lands, in order to welcome new members. Now that he was older, he felt that he had certain responsibilities within his Clan, and this was one of them.

Smiling, he gazed out over the lands. He could see lions in all shapes, sizes and colours moving in all directions. All of them had met with Tawa'di, who had revealed to them the Clan that they were destined to join. It was a wonderful thing, to see the Pride so alive with new blood. He hoped that new lions would continue to join, and that the pride would continue to thrive.

Having just come from the Tree Ceremony, Mileli was on cloud nine. Tawa'di had such an incredible aura about him that she had been in awe the entire time. She was glad that her wandering feet had brought her here, and that she had finally found a place where she could safely rest her wings for probably the rest of her life. She truely couldn't be happier, which was quite obvious as she walked with a skip in her step. Now all she had to do was find the area of land belonging to the Mantis Clan.

Quite a few new lions had been sent to that Clan, but in her excitement at the whole event she had lost track of the ones she had seen get sent to that Clan. She wasn't worried though, as she was sure that the Ela'wadiyi lands were safe. All she had to do was find an existing member, and surely they could point her in the right direction.

It wasn't long before Taradhia spotted yet another lion heading in his direction. She was a pale female, and she seemed to be moving with a lot of vigor. When she got closer, he could see the happiness of her face. Ah, another Shadow Clan member! At least, that's what he first though, since she was heading in the direction of the Shadow Clan lands.

"Hello there!" He called out to her, before giving a big wave of his paw in order to get her attention. He decided to move to meet her halfway, as it wouldn't be polite to make her walk all the way to him. Smiling, he started heading in her direction.

Because she was in a world of her home when the other lion called out to her, she couldn't help but jump. "Oh!" She gasped, before laughing out loud. "You startled me!" She called back, as her rosy pink eyes looked ahead and focused on the large white male before her. With such a fantasticly large mane and incredible tattoos, she was certain that he had the blood of the Ela'wadiyi running through him. And luckily for her, he was coming in her direction.

When they reached each other, Mileli smiled pleasantly. "Greetings! My name is Mileli, and I'm a new member of the Ela'wadiyi!" She felt so good introducing herself as a Pride member. She had never been a member of a Pride before, so everything was new and exciting. "Am I in the lands of the Mantis Clan?"

Taradhia bowed his head in greeting towards the female. "Welcome to the Ela'wadiyi Mileli. My name Taradhia Subiani." When the female mentioned the Mantis Clan, the adult male let out a small chuckle. "Oh dear, it looks like you're heading in the wrong direction. You're actually in the lands of my Clan, the Shadow Clan."

He noticed straight away the lovely markings on her back. They resembled feathers, and they almost looked like tattoos themselves. The markings made him look down at his two front paws, which had a bird tattooed on each. He was sure that his friend Terema would love this female's markings.

Mileli seemed like a lovely girl, so the least he could do was take her to the Mantis Clan. "Come on, I'll show you the way." With that, he motioned for her to join him at his side, before heading in the direction of the Mantis Clan lands.

Mileli's ears dropped a little when she was told that she was in the wrong place. She was sure that she had headed in the right direction based on what she had been told at the Tree Ceremony, but she guessed she must've taken a wrong turn somewhere. She didn't feel bad for long though, as her new friend Taradhia offered to take her right to where she needed to be. "Thank you!"

As the pair walked, Mileli couldn't help but keep looking at Taradhia's tattoos through the corner of her eye. They looked really great on him, as she could see that his coat underneath was without markings. Because she already had quite a lot of markings, she decided that she would probably not have any tattoos. "Is it a bad thing if a new member chooses not to have any tattoos?"

Taradhia turned to Mileli as the pair continued walking. "Of course not." He said with a smile. "Although tattoos are an important part of our culture, it isn't something that absolutely has to be adopted by new members. They are only required of those that are born in these lands." Saying that, he motioned towards her back. "I think that your wonderful markings could actually be mistaken for tattoos."

After he mentioned her markings, he again looked down at his bird tattoos. "I got these bird tattoos in honour of my best friend Terema, who is a member of the Bird Clan." He said with a somewhat sheepish smile.

Mileli breathed a small sigh of relief when it was revealed that she didn't have to get tattoos if she didn't want to. "Maybe I'll just get a few small ones at some point." She said with a happy nod. The tattoos were very beautiful, so it would be a shame if she didn't even get one.

When the male mentioned her markings, Mileli smiled even wider. "Thank you, you're too kind." Her markings had always been very popular with others, but she had always been humble about them. Some had gone so far as to say that she had been blessed by the Goddess of Birds, but that compliment was really just too much for her.

When her attention was brought back to her new friend's bird tattoos, she leaned in to get a closer look. "They're very pretty! Your friend must be so honoured that you got those done in thought of her."

Taradhia continued to grin sheepishly. "Actually, I haven't shown her them yet." He wasn't sure why he hadn't yet shown Terema the tattoos, or told her true meaning of why he got them done. Maybe he was worried that she wouldn't like them or something? It was very hard to say. He would have to show her eventually though. Maybe after the festival?

When he realised that he had just gone off on his own train of thought, Taradhia laughed and shook his head. "I'm sorry, that was rude of me. Please, tell me a bit more about yourself. Like, where did you come from?"

"Aww, you should show her! I'm sure she'll be very happy!" Mileli said with a smile, hoping to reassure Taradhia that it's a lovely thing he's done and that he should show his friend as soon as possible. She actually thought it was very romantic too, which may be why the male lion hadn't shown them to her yet. It didn't take a genius to spot that sheepish grin.

When Taradhia changed the subject, Mileli just laughed. "Don't worry about it." When asked about herself, the pale lioness shrugged her shoulders. "There isn't much to tell really. As soon as I was old enough to look after myself on my own, I started travelling. I've visited many different lands, but I never stayed long enough to learn about them." She sighed softly. "Now, I just want to settle down. I fell in love with these lands as soon as I entered them, so I'm glad to have been accepted."

Although Taradhia was definatly the adventurous type, he had only ever adventured within his own lands. He had never left them, nor did he had any desire to. "You must've seen many different things. You will surely have some great stories to tell." Saying that, he stopped and smiled at her. "Your wandering feet can finally rest."

After a while more walking, Taradhia then turned to his new friend and motioned ahead of them. "We are now in the lands of the Mantis Clan. Keep walking in this direction and you will come across the dens." Smiling, he turned to Mileli. "It was very nice to meet you Mileli." He chuckled. "If you remember the way, please feel free to come and visit me. Farewell Mileli." With that, the white lion turned and started heading back to his Clan lands.

"Great stories?" Mileli had never really thought about that. Because she had never really stayed anywhere long enough to get to know others, shw had never gotten the chance to tell anyone about her travels. Now that she thought about it, she did indeed have a few good stories to tell. "Thank you!" She beamed, suddenly feeling quite proud of herself.

When they came to a stop again, Mileli cast her gaze over the Mantis Clan lands, her new home. When Taradhia turned to her, she smiled and bowed her head gratefully. "Thank you so much for bringing me here!" She laughed. "I'll do my best to come visit you. Goodbye Taradhia!" With that, she too headed in the direction of her Clan lands.
