Rex is a 20-year-old security guard. He's 6'2" and doesn't let you forget it. He likes beer, reality TV, girls, and (reluctantly) guys. He doesn't like having to do stuff or having to get up off the couch. He hates having to do both.
Rex was never a smart guy - he barely scraped through high school (mainly hanging on by his grade in gym), and despite his mother's desperate attempts he hasn't even thought about going to college. A few months ago he got a job as a security guard at a very popular designer clothing store on a busy street in Aekea. Rex likes this job because it's busy enough not to get too dull, but never too involving either - none of the kids who swarm it really have the guts to mess with him.
He lives (well, lived) alone in a tiny basement apartment, and spends many of the nights he isn't working out in the clubs. He's an easily social kind of guy - people like him despite the fact that he's not the smartest or most pleasant individual around. Because of this, he's got lots of friends - but none of them are particularly close. His romantic relationships are much in the same vein. Few of them flourish for any longer than a month.

Rex's tiny apartment looks like a teenage boy's bedroom after an explosion. Unless one of his girlfriends decides to make a project out of cleaning up, it's an absolute mess. Empty beer cans and pizza boxes litter every unused corner. The furniture is mismatched, often ugly, and sometimes suspiciously stained.
The whole apartment comprises of a narrow living room, a kitchenette, a bedroom and a bathroom. There is a small-ish window high up on the wall in the living room, an an even smaller one in the bedroom.

Rex's journal is a battered navy Moleskine notebook he keeps with him most of the time. It has a scattered entry or two, but for the most part he uses it to record girls' phone numbers and addresses.
