I give you these theories:
1. Shadow uses the last of his powers to teleport himself to safety
2. The Black Arms save Shadow
3. Shadow crash-lands on Earth, but survives
4. The Shadow you play as is one of the Shadow Clones from Sonic Heroes
5. Shadow had an extra life/hits a 1 Up Capsule on his way down
