Marshall had walked past the alley a million and one times, He'd seen the wall as nothing but a blank canvas. Something that needed to be made beautiful. Before the shop owner painted it white it had a few scribbles of god knows what on it written in horrible spray paint by some punk a** kid that thought he had been making art, But obviously now by the white layer of paint someone saw it as disgusting. Marshall laughed to himself the first time he'd walked by the stark white wall, 'Figures, Your delinquency got painted over' He thought to himself. Today he found himself staring at the wall, Imagining how rolling green hills would look on the side, Maybe a peaceful landscape spilling out over the white, turning it into something really beautiful. He sighed and shook his head. What he was about to do he figured was way more than Illegal. The night was dark and he knew no one was around this was the perfect time to start on his crime. He'd drug a light with him to light up the stark white wall onto which he planned on putting his latest masterpiece. He was slightly tired of being the only one who looked at them. He really never was into painting till after he was left high and dry by that a*****e Aiden, Who he planned on confronting again, To tell him just how much he was missing and how perfect his life was with out the gorgeous red head. He also planned on speaking with Hiraki To tell her she was a b***h. He sighed and shook his head again to release the thoughts before he laid his drop cloth out on the ground of the alley way so he wouldn't get dirty stepping on the disgusting ground, He then slipped off his shoes and sat cross legged on the drop cloth opening his paints and putting various colors out oh his paint tray. Standing again Marshall stepped back to the end of the cloth and closed his eyes letting an image spill out in his head once he knew what he was painting he stepped forward and began. In the painting a sun was setting behind some luscious hills, in the corner under a big oak tree next to a fire were two figures which he had yet to paint fully, He was still trying to figure out which cats he knew out here in this land that he would fashion the people after. The cat was lost in his own world as he painted. He hummed a small tune, his heart song. He always sang it while he had painted.

It wasn't long before the painting was almost finished the two figures still stood there, both were blank. His paint tray was swirled with a million different shades of greens and oranges, his hands stained with the paint he'd accidentally spilled. Marshall took two steps back and stared at the painting wrapping his thumb and index finger around his chin he stared at them trying to figure out who the hell he was going to put there, on one side of his chin he had a red orange smeer where his finger had been. On the other a light green, " Oh hell." He muttered as he smeared the paint up his cheek.

Weeks. It had been weeks since Belle's family had left, or so she guess because they were gone by the time she had returned from her horrible kidnapping. There was always that tiny chill in the back of her mind that suggested perhaps they weren't coming home again, but this little Ragamuffin had to stay strong and believe that she was far to important to just leave behind, like the furniture in the house. Well, not exactly actually. Movers just came by the other day, picking up the couches and the televisions and not to mention that grand piano she loved to hear the Miss play. Belle meowed and cried and rubbed herself against those filthy humans who moved all those familiar things out and into a van. Even out of her desperation she attempted to stow away in the back of the moving van, perhaps thinking it would take her to her family, but those people. Oh, she hated them for kicking her out and leaving her with less hope then she had to give.

Belle was strolling down the block, just trying to stay away from her house as much as possible now a days. Should she go see Hermes? No, probably not. She wouldn't want him fretting over her gloomy mood or anything like that. Their emotions seemed to reflect each other in a very strange way, but she found it sort of magical in a way. Heck, maybe she should go see that little spunky bobtail Demi. They were friends but maybe the words of that blunt and sneaky girl weren't really the sort of thing she needed right now. Being alone and having time to think would be enough if she just gave it time. The perfect place to think where there wasn't so much fussing and stampeding from the humans was the alleys. Sure, they were dank and very dirty, two things Belle hated, but it was one of the few places she was usually never bothered.

Letting her feet fall, one after another in a quick and timely fashion, she carried her fluffy self all the way to one of the cleanest of the alley's where they had just added a nice coat of white paint, which helped with the illusion that it wasn't as gross as it seemed. Keeping close to the walls, Belle made sure that she made it there with no complications or anything of the sort. The problem didn't start actually, until after she arrived. Who was this? Who was this fellow in the alley way, making his mark on the beautiful white clean wall. It was the only thing she had that reminded her of the white walls of home and now it was green and orange and ugh! "H-hey! What are you doing?!" She exclaimed while racing up to the male, letting her eyes soak in the new picture painted upon the wall. Well, now it didn't seem so bad after she got close enough to see the detail and the gorgeous array of colors. "Oh wow...." she was left speechless by it's beauty, and almost got lost in the scene. Obviously she wasn't upset anymore.

Marshall Jumped as Belle Screamed him, He hadn't been expecting anyone to be walking around so late at night. He took a step or two away from her and watched her. As she turned her eyes up to the painting a deep blush took over the normally creamy white cheeks of the older cat tinting them a deep pink that looked like it would stay there forever. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to put his work up for everyone else to see. He was worried nod. He sucked in a breath gasping slightly as he didn't know he had actually been holding his breath and he closed his eyes, " Would that 'oh wow' Be good or bad?" He asked the small car softly. He might have been relatively the same size as her but he stood above her and she seemed much smaller than him. " I can paint over it if its that horrible." He muttered sucking the metal loop of his lip ring into him mouth and sucking on it nervously. He then figured maybe he should explain himself. He couldn't find the words to say as he let a million things race threw his head that he could say to the cat. He began to stutter, "I..I..I... f-f-f-figured t-t-that maybe this p-p-place needed a new c-c-c-coat of paint. It was so white and So b-b-b-bare that it needed something." He opened his eyes looking down at the ragamuffin, before he sucked the lip ring back into him mouth. His blue greens eyes anxious as he waited for her to say something.

His heart was pounding in his chest and in his head. If felt like the drum inside him would pound against his ribs to hard and explode, the young tom cat could barely remember to breathe, almost for getting to he drew in a breath a small gasp slipping from his lips before he held his breath again his cheeks tinting deeper red as he held the air in his lungs till it burnt and he let let it out with a loud wooshing sound.

Belle never removed her eyes from the scene before her now. It was like a little display of actual light, what with how realistic it seemed and the lamp Marshall had dragged there to light it up. She was completely caught off guard because while running over here she didn't expect to find this masterpiece. She had been thinking of maybe finding a few paint cans and a horrible sprayed on logo. "Paint over it? Oh, no no. Don't do something like that! It's gorgeous. Really... this is coming from somebody with fantastic taste, so don't worry." She could feel his nervousness as he struggled to explain himself but it was only bringing laughter to the younger cat. "Oh, don't worry I said. It's beautiful." She reassured the boy before stepping onto the sheet that was laid beneath the painting.

"What's your name?" She asked boldly while flicking her tail so that it curled elegantly around her feet as she sat there with expecting eyes. Of course, how could she very well expect him to share his identity with a stranger like her, even though she was the most beautiful stranger he had probably ever seen. Well, at least in her mind. "You may call me Belle," she continued to glance over at his art work every now and again, each time she looked away she felt like her eyes were stinging from the loss of such a stunning piece of work.

Marshall let out another woosh of air before he smiled his cheeks still tinted with the blush. " Thank you." He muttered turning his eyes up to the painting and sighing softly. It had turned out very well, Except for the whole part that the humans were still unfinished. He looked back at Belle. " Why hello Belle." He said bowing slightly her to show the other that he was a respectful cat. " My name is Marshall." He said with a smile. " But I think I'll let you get away with calling me Marshie." He told her walking towards his paint tray and picking it up. He looked down at the Ragamuffin and mixed his paint. He was trying to get the color just right. He hadn't really meet anyone after he shut himself up in his small shack after his heart was shattered into a million pieces by that scum bag Aiden, and When he had gone out he was far to sour for anyone to actually speak to him. He wouldn't speak to them. It took him a few seconds of mixing but he finally had two perfect shades. He began to paint long flowing hair on the female figure, The first color matching the dark color of the stripe down the females back. He added high lights matching the light color on Belle's fur and gorgeous blue grey eyes. He smiled at the cat before he began on the male figure, adding black bangs to him the hair style matching his. He stepped back and nodded. " Now its finished." He muttered to the other cat.

The male was rather nice. Not exactly as she pictured somebody with his apparel acting like but it was much more pleasant than what she had in mind. She slowly took a graceful bow, displaying her class and proper up-bringing. When he offered her to use the little nickname she couldn't help but tilt her head at the oddness of the pronunciation. Marshall was a fantastic name, but she guessed that the use of this other name would perhaps maybe mean they were closer, even if they had just met. "Well, Marshie..." She spoke with slight discomfort around the silly name but thought it was rather fun to say after all. "It's not an issue. It looks like you've been doing this for a while." She spoke about his painting skills and gave a soft sigh, coming to the realization that she didn't have a talent like this or anything else for that matter.

Bitter thoughts about being cooped up all day in that fancy house really blocked her from discovering a lot about the outside world and how life could be so exciting and vary. While she was at home all she had was the same routine everyday. Eat, nap, eat, nap, eat, go to sleep. Then wake up and do it all over again. It was a really sad life now that she thought back on it, but she did miss the comfort of it all. The way she would have somebody to stroke her fur and adore her beauty when she asked for attention. She missed the feel of being petted. Shaking the thought from her head she looked back up at the sweet looking male before curling her lips into a smile. This whole time she had been thinking he had been working. Her eyes wondered over the final touches that he had added and took noticed that it was her and him. Both of them enjoying themselves at the scene he had laid out. "Oh wow! It's- oh Marshie!" She leaned against him in a loving way. Nobody had ever done such a nice thing for her before. She couldn't blame him for wanting to paint her though. She was beautiful after all. She thought he had caught her beauty very well though, and that left her satisfied. "That's you and me? You and me and a sun set?" She was a very happy kitty right now.

Marshall took a step away from the cat after she's touched him, his face scrunched up in an awkward way. "Please don't touch me." He asked clearing his throat. The only one he'd really ever let touch him was Aiden and Roxy that once. He reached down and brushed the spot where she'd touched before wiping his hand off on the drop cloth and sighing. Now he'd have to go take a shower because he was dirty. The paint on his hands he didn't mind, yet he hated being touched. There was nothing about the feeling that he liked. " But yes." He muttered with a small sigh turning his eyes back up to the picture. " You and I having a lovely time around a small fire while watching the sun set." He told her staring at the painting. It was then that he started thinking back on her words, " I've actually only been doing this for a few months." He told her with a nod. " I've been drawing for quite some time but I just started painting." He told her sighing. He knelt down and picked up some of his paints cleaning them off on the white cloth the color staining the stark whiteness of it and marshall smiling the whole time. To him cleaning up was just about making another masterpeice. He kept cleaning the paints off and smeering the paint all over the white making sure to avoid the cat on the edge.

He tool his paint tray and began to take the colors and brush them onto the cloth making sure to empty each brush as he went. He was finished in no more than a few minuets. The male wiping his hands off lastly in the corner of the mess he'd made taking most of the dried paint off as he did. He noticed that the sun was rising and he knew that the two of them should go before they got into any trouble here in the Alley. Besides that he didn't want to get caught being the painter of the wall. " We should get out of here." He told Belle as he looked around. He clicked him lamp up and wrapped the chord up stuffing all the things into a bag pack.

What was this? He was offering her a nickname, painting her on walls, and even being a bit of a gentleman to her but he didn't want her touching him? That was slightly insulting. Was she dirty? Smelly? What was the matter with poor Belle. She looked down and began to glance over her beautiful silky fur and wonder what had made him so rude all the sudden. "W-well fine..." she said in a sore tone that let him know that she was obviously hurt by that remark. As he trailed on with the conversation she found herself being distracted from her feelings, luckily.

When it was finally her turn to reply she was some how calm again, not being able to hold a grudge on the matter. "Only a few months? My goodness, it looks like you have been painting your entire life. You have a real talent." She spoke the truth and gave him a polite smile as she continued to sit and study the art. It was like an addiction to her eyes. They couldn't get enough of it. "Wait, we're leaving already?" She asked as he announced that they should leave. "Oh... we?" she added once she discovered that it wasn't just he who he was talking about. "I can come with you?" Belle seemed full of questions. She circled him once, eying the tools he packed away.

Marshall but his lip thinking. Taking this gril back to him small shack could be pretty hectic. There really wasn't any room, and it would mean they'd be close and possibly touching. He shivered at the thought. But then again leaving her here would mean possibly her getting picked up by the humans. He sighed and turned his blue green eyes down to her. " I suppose you could." He said with a small shrug. " I don't have much room back home." He added folding up his cloth and tucking that away also. "Its a ways away from here, and you'll have to be quick on your feet. Because we have to get hidden before the humans come." He told her looking back at the light starting over the horizon. " I don't like getting caught when they're around the city." He told the cat his voice showing his nervousness. He zipped up the bagpack and slung it on his shoulders, " If your going with me Belle. Were going now." He said pulling his hoodie up over his head, His ears making the hood of the jacket lay funny." He slipped into the shadows of the walls and began on his way towards his small shack. He hummed softly making sure not to cross any of the humans that were already out and about in the city.

She thought he had offered. She thought he was trying to be welcoming and hospitable to her but obviously she was reading him all wrong because he said 'suppose'. He was guessing she could come? Belle was a bit confused by this male and thought that he was much more frustrating than Hermes. Even more so than Demi, and that was saying something. "Well, Maybe... if you're not sure that is, I should just go home." She recalled that using the word home was slightly risky for her now. It wasn't so much as a home then it was a hang out spot. She hadn't been inside in weeks, or maybe it was months now. She wasn't keeping track. She just knew it was the longest she had ever been outside before. With a heavy sigh she decided that she didn't want to be all alone again tonight. "But, if you think that you could handle me taking up some of your space... I guess I probably should come along." She followed at his heels, sticking close behind.

Marshall nodded at her, " I really don't mind." He muttered to her as they went. It wasn't long before they came to a broken down house. It has vines growing up most of and it looked from the outside like it had been left to fall apart. Marshall walked around the back and slipped threw a hole in the wall. He sighed and stretched pulling a long chord that flooded the room with light. The walls inside were white most covered with his paintings. He let out a small sigh and he stretched, very carefully the cat laid his bagpack on the ground and took out his stuff. He walked over to the table in the corner and spread out his drop cloth, to let the painting dry. He looked around and frowned at his place. He thought that it was stupid and it sure as hell wasn't worth anyone coming to see. He picked up one of his most recent paintings and stretched to hang it up on the wall to make this place more presentable fot someone to see. He shrugged. " Forgive my mess." He said looking around the utterly clean space. There was a couch in the corner with a pillow on it and a few drop cloths all the paint washed away the colors staining it in its own accord making it look like a blanket he'd spent plenty of money on. He loves this tiny space and really didn't look forward to moving out of it soon. It was far out of the public eye and now only he and Belle knew it existed. He sighed softly. " I told you it wasn't much." He said looking around again and dropping his hands to his sides with a small 'thud'

Belle wasn't sure if she should believe this frightfully confusing boy or if she should just shrug it all off and think the best of him. It seemed like a much easier thing to do, plus it would rid her of this little headache he was creating. "Well, alright Marshall." She walked along, practically on his heels as they made their long journey to his little shack. To think that Belle thought Hermes had a cramp space. This was ridiculous. The outside was dreadful but once the young princess stepped inside and Marshie actually pulled the cord to shine light upon everything she was completely caught off guard by her own gasp. "Oh- My goodness, Marshall," she spoke in her usual way. "You're drawings... your paintings. They're all so... beautiful!" She jumped up on the couch to get a look of all the art work that was scattered around the room. "I wish I could draw like this. I wish I had any talent at all," she spoke softly, as if keeping it to herself rather than telling Marshall.

Pulling her tail around her feet as she sat up straight like a dainty little lady she tilted her head at Marshall, blushing slightly. "Please, don't apologize," she liked the apology for the fact that it must have meant he was embarrassed about her seeing his place like this, even if it wasn't so much a mess then it was just poorly constructed. "So, Marshall.... I'm guessing you live here... all alone?" She began to paw at the fur on her tail lightly, getting the most of the soft feel. "Do you, have friends over often?" She followed up that question with another. It seemed today that she was very chatty. To bad for Marshall.

Marshall shrugged at the girls declaration. " I never have anyone over." He told her having an internal debate on telling the girl about what had happened to him or not, he sighed getting ready to gush. " I'm not a very social person." He explained sitting on the far end of the couch from her, "I was with this... guy." He mumbled softly, " And he hurt me badly. I haven't spoken to anyone since really. Your the first cat I haven't been totally sour to. I haven't had the patience to talk to anyone else. I just wanted to curl up and die." He sighed. " I live here all on my own. With out anyone." He said with a small sigh.

The adorable little Ragamuffin tilted her head, making it clear to him that with his statement about being with a guy hanging there she wasn't all to sure on what to think about it. What did he exactly mean by being with a guy? Like, they were friends, or perhaps it meant something deeper than just friendship. "Poor, Marshall. I'm terribly sorry to hear such a thing. I truly am." She leaped down from the couch and strolled up to his side, eyeing the man with sad eyes. "You loved him? You thought he would never hurt you and.... he did?" She felt her heart quicken in thoughts of Hermes. He would never do that to her, right? No, of course not. Belle wasn't to sure on the whole love thing but she knew he was special to her and he already made it clear that he wouldn't hurt her. By now Belle would be right beside him, comforting him with a soft stroke of her tail wrapping around his leg but there was the whole touching issue and she thought it was best to keep her distance.

Marshall sighed and nodded at her. Shaking his head to push the tears away he sighed. " Enough of me." He muttered to her watching the cat that had moved towards him. " How long have you been a stray?" He asked her looking at her collar and sighing. " And why haven't you taken off your collar? Life is so much better with out it." He told her with a nod. " I mean your so free once its gone. You get to be unbound by the rules that apply to everything...... well almost everything." He told her with a small nod. He thought back remembering his years as a house cat. The lazy days with his master, the girl always feeding him scraps from her plate, He remembered snuggling with her. God how he missed snuggling with the girl, Then he remembered her getting sick and leaving him. Then being locked away and he frowned. How had his life been so perfect yet gone down hill so fast. He would have been sad had this life not been better. " I mean I know its scary at first, but you are able to do so many amazing things once its gone."
