Hermes had been staring at the wall all day. His ears swished around in annoyance and his tail flicked here and there. He buried his head in his arms and made a lot of cryptic noises. "Belle." The only thing he could think of all day was "Belle." Moving to sit up he ruffled his curly red hair and sat up. He looked outside the window to see the sky painted a dark blue and the pale moon shining down to give what little light he could.
Pouting, he swung himself off the couch and made his way out the window. The calm, cool wind ruffled his fur and he smiled. "Why didn't I think of this the first time!" he happily ran off into the night, sticking to the walls so that he wouldn't be noticed. It was quiet, just the odd howl of the lonely dog or the hiss of an angry cat. Still, his mood stayed cheerful as he got closer to a certain house.
His heart started to pound harder and harder as he got nearer. "I haven't seen her in so long..." he whispered to the night. A warm breeze was all he got in reply.

It was a pleasant night, but still Belle found herself wishing to be let inside. If only her humans were back and she had the warm bed and the company of the little ones that usually put her to sleep. How the little Ragamuffin prayed for company before bed, but all this wishing only reminded her of one thing specifically. "Hermes." She let out a long sigh as she lifted her head up from where it laid on her little dainty paws. She had been curled up into a ball on the foot rug at the front door of the large expensive looking household.
Her lovely blue orbs seemed to glide around the scene, maybe in hopes of a familiar face, but all that was seen was the typical quiet night setting with occasional sounds that made Belle jump. "Hm... maybe I could... try to find my way back to his little house. Oh that thing, so tiny... but it was nice, I have to admit." She wasn't one for little, abandoned houses but maybe the fact that it was Hermes' made it so much more enjoyable. He'd be there and she'd forget about the dust and the rust. She stood up from the rug and began to paw her way down the front steps.
Surprisingly, what she ended up seeing eventually as she strolled down the walk way was somebody she wasn't to sure of. Was he approaching her? Oh, Belle didn't like this one bit. She turned and bounded up the stairs, taking her place on the door mat once more in hopes that he would just pass by.

Hermes glanced around the street before he made his way up the grand house. A million thoughts and things to say passed through his mind, and then he saw her. She was slowing leaving the rug and she had seen him, he was sure of it. He was about to quicken his speed but Belle had turned around to flee back to where she was. He stopped, his heart skipped a beat. "Maybe she doesn't want to see me..." he thought, more icicles stabbing his fragile heart. His ears flatten back and his tail hung low. "I mean... I did leave one day without telling her where I was going..."
But after some hesitations, he mustered up the courage to continue up the path to her home. Heart beating slowly, his mind so full of doubt. He walked stared at the floor and walked right up to the bottom of the stairs before he stopped and looked up to see those beautiful blue eyes. So round and bright like the morning sky. His heart quickened again, his face redden slightly. His feet and hands felt awkward, he didn't know what to do with them.
His eyes were adjusting to the dark again and he could see her pretty fur and the ribbon that she always had around her neck.Swallowing hard, he softly said "Hello Belle"

A lump was forming in her throat. It got bigger and bigger with every step this silhouette took. Sure, he had stopped for a while, Belle had seen that, but he was still advancing. The closer he got the more familiar that tail seemed, and those ears. They were so cute. Did she know who this was? Her instincts and the scent she was starting to pick up screamed yes. After he had stopped himself at the bottom of the stairs she widened her eyes to clear up her sight of him. Oh dear, that couldn't be, "Hermes?" She quickly stood up on the rug, nearly jumping to her feet. "Is that you? Oh yes! Yes, it is you!" She spoke with enthusiasm and excitement as she carried herself with a slight bounce in her steps down the stairs again.
It had been an awkward departure the last time they said goodbye, or rather hadn't said goodbye. Belle had woken up in that little house to find nothing to cling to and without so much as a clue to where he had wandered away to. Sure, she was upset at the time, and left to come back to this 'for sale' home, but she never stopped wondering when the next time she would happen to see him again. Feeling like he'd come find her when he realized that she was worth finding. "Hermies, what are you doing here?" She asked curiously with a slight smirk on her lips. "Did you- ... did you come to see me?" She asked a bit unsure what his answer would be but then again why else would he be traveling around here.

All the thoughts, things he had wanted to say, everything was emptied from his mind. He opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out and he looked away nervously. 'I must have left a very bad impression...' he thought to himself sadly. Turning back slowly he smiled a small trying smile. "Yes Belle, I came to see you" he said quietly. He wanted so bad to hug her tight. She was so close, he could almost feel her warmth. He wanted to explain that he hadn't meant to leave her that day. That he tried to get back as fast as he could.
"Um, if you want me to go... I... I know it's really late... I just... I just..." Hermes wanted to hit himself so hard. 'Why can't I just tell her everything? Jeez I must sound like a big duffus!' "Belle" he looked into her eyes and stopped, heart skipping again. He shook his head quickly, shut his eyes and blurred out "I'm so sorry I left without saying anything! I'm so sorry I didn't come back fast enough! I'm.. I'm... I'm sorry I left you alone" he finished lamely. He peeked out to see how she was taking this.

Belle bit her lip and smiled happily as he explained to her that him coming all this way just to see her. It left a glowing feeling inside of her that made her want to balance up on the very tips of her toes or maybe even spin and twirl around like a dancer but she managed to keep her feet grounded and her expression some what serious and under control. However, when he began to stutter around with his words and began making excuses to start leaving she was left all confused and lost. He came to see her, but already he wanted to talk about leaving. How could he possibly do that to her? Now that he was here and she was all glad, but maybe she just wasn't showing it enough. She quickly reached out and grabbed his hand, "No!" Maybe that outburst was a bit to sudden and eager but she didn't want him to go.
He locked their eyes into a serious and slightly uncomfortable stare, each of them not really knowing what to do at this moment. She almost wanted to break down and apologize. She wasn't sure what for but she felt like if she did it would make him stay with her. She didn't want to be alone tonight now that she had this wonderful gentleman before her. She was seconds away from opening her mouth and begging him not to go before he beat her to it and began to spill out his feelings in such strong emotion.
The ragamuffin let her glassy blue eyes widen as he quickly came out with that apology. "Oh... Hermes..." she spoke softly, thinking of what to say. "I shouldn't have been jumping to conclusions. It seems like you never meant to leave me alone... so how can I stay upset? Besides, it was stupid of me to get all flustered about it in the first place. I'm sorry." She apologized in turn. Now that the air was starting to feel a little lighter she leaned into Hermes and rested her chin on his shoulder. "I'll forgive you if you forgive me," she trailed off in a small whisper since they were so close now. It was strange how this didn't feel like any other friendship she had before. This was definitely something different.

Hermes' rainbow eyes widened at the "No!" but then softened again. He listened to all her words. His shoulder tingled where she rested her shoulder. Without thinking his arms wrapped around her small body. He had gotten bigger since they last saw each other. Not caring if she was going to protest, he hugged her tight enough to still be comfortable.
Nuzzling her ears he started to purr happily. The deep rumbles in this throat felt pleasant. "There's no need for you to be sorry" he muttered, " you haven't done anything wrong. I was the idiot who didn't come back. " Feeling guilty he tightened his grip for a second and relaxed again, ears flattening and unflattening. Thinking about it now, he really enjoyed her company. She was a lot different the cats he's met so far. They were all pretty mellow, and calm. He's also never met with them more than just the one time. It never really mattered. Only some nights he would get a little lonely. Longing for some company.
It was hard being in his family. The times they had together were few or even non-existing. The only person he could even feel close to was Morph at first, but then he hadn't seen him since that day. He had found Nyx, his only sister out of chance. It was nice to see her, to catch up with what he missed out... Suddenly he started to shake his head to get rid of all the thoughts. They don't matter right now because, the one person who ever made him feel wanted was right here. He pulled away from Belle and looked her in the eyes, his own filled with seriousness and determination "I won't ever leave you alone like that again. Not even if the earth was to start moving or if the sky was to fall. I'd find a way to fly you to safety." He hugged her close again, trying his hardest to convey his feeling.

The emotions racing through Belle were something she had never quite felt before, and she had to admit she liked them a lot. It was a strange mixture of feeling spacey and feeling completely ecstatic at the same time. It was a good thing she wasn't acting as jumpy and jittery as she felt deep inside of her. She'd probably frighten the poor fellow. However, when Hermes began to let out a soft rumbling pur Belle found herself tightening her grip ever so slightly, just to let him be aware that she was enjoying the feeling of being close enough to hear it. When he began to speak about how she was wrong to be the one to apologize she drawled back her ears. "Hermes, I-" she was cut off and choked back her words to let him speak. She valued his words so much more than her own. Whatever he had to tell her, she was willing to bet all the cat n** in the world that it would fix things. Well, hopefully it would.
His promise. His promise to never leave her alone. To never leave her alone in the most serious and disastrous of situations. It caused blush to gather in her cheeks and the wobbling shakiness to come back to her knees ten times as powerful as before. She leaned into him for a second round of hugs, running her hands over his shoulder blades in a tender way. When he finished up with the last sentence, it really caught her heart on his line, and he was reeling her in. He'd save her? He'd go threw the impossible task of figuring out how to fly just to save her? She was sure she was taking this all to far but she wanted to hope a little. She wanted to blow things out of proportion and get the best of this cozy feeling she thought was love. "Hermes... I'm so glad to hear you say that," she spoke in a soft whisper because she was all choked up with happiness. Pulling back just enough to see his gorgeous gold green orbs she reached up and brushed a lock of hair from his face. "I'm glad to say I'd do the same for you, Hermes."

Hermes' listened to her words and smiled as he heard each one. He didn't know why, but he couldn't stop smiling because of her.
When Belle brushed away the hair from his face, electrical currents were sent down Hermes' spine. Without thinking, he moved in closer, eyes closing as he neared her pretty face and kissed her on the lips. A light kiss, and still he felt the softness of it. His mind exploded. It seemed like nothing else mattered. He pulled back a little, kissing her on her cheek before he pulled back enough to see her properly. He gave her a shy smile, not really knowing what else to do.

Belle kept her blush on her cheeks and her smile on her lips. The perfect night seemed to be such a relaxing setting for such a mood as this. With every inch closer, the young girl felt her stomach twist and tighten. Obviously, she felt more and more nervous but she liked the feeling. She actually enjoyed the sort of sickness Hermes brought to her. The kind of shiver down her spine that made her crave more. As she watched curiously and studied his eyes shutting she thought she would follow his lead and flutter her eyes shut.
She leaned forward slowly, making sure not to move to quickly for fear of she might smash their faces to hard together. Of course, when his lips pressed against hers she curled her toed with happiness and shivered, tightening her grip on the shoulder of his shirt and pulling him closer to her. After the dreamy little kiss she leaned back and opened her eyes lazily, leaving them half lidded. The kiss on her cheek caused Belle to shrug her shoulders and giggle. "Hermes..." she spoke but she hadn't realized how speechless she actually was. Her hands remained where they found themselves during the kiss. One on his shoulder and the other clutching onto the side of his shirt.

Hermes laughed softly at Belle's expression. His hand closed on hers and he squeezed it tightly and fondly. Hermes gazed up at the night sky, taking in the softly glowing forms of the stars and thinking back on the events that just happened. His mind spun a little and he felt a little giddy. A smile spread across his youthful face. He kissed her once more on the lips, a little stronger this time.
Smiling at the younger cat, his eyes brightened. "Belle, have you ever seen the night market?", he asked, excitement in his voice. He hadn't been to the plaza in awhile but, oh! He still remembers the night-time wonders of it all. The busy people, animals running around the place and all the beautiful lights. He had enjoyed the bustling atmosphere and wanted to share it with Belle. After all, he wanted to show her everything he loved so that she may one day love it too.

Another kiss was more than enough to make her daintily lift her leg back behind her in that typical romantic kick. "Heh," she blushed as she twisted a little, glancing down between their bodies to avoid any foolish looks she might give him. So young, and already starting falling in love. Hopefully, it wasn't just puppy (or is it Kitty) love. She used to hate leaving her house, and having no people to take care of her every need, but if it weren't for being left behind she would have never of had this experience, or these new friends of hers. That small change in her life seemed to of been for the best and she wasn't mourning her own like she used to. Not anymore.
The handsome boy seemed to light up like a light bulb as he questioned her about ever traveling to the night market. She didn't even know what that was, so of course the answer would have to be, "No..." She tilted her head ever so lightly before running her thumb over his knuckles in a sort of flirtatious fashion. "Is it a fun place? Could you show me? Oh, I would be so happy if you would." She asked with enthusiasm growing with each and every word spoken to him. Hermes was always a blast to be around, and with a proper setting, she was sure tonight could be the best night of her life.

The moon was now half way across the sky. The clouds had multiplied. Their soft formless shapes covering and uncovering stars as they travelled to unknown destinations. The night was quiet now. The dogs had stopped their mad barkings, the fights had all ended. If you were to listen carefully, you would be able to hear the sounds of happiness radiating from Hermes' soul.
"Or course I can" he said as he let her run her thumb over his knuckles. She was the cause of the pleasent electrical currents running where she had touched. "We can go whenever you want. I know there's a festival coming soon to celebrate the harvest moon. We could go then? The moon turns a strange yellow colour on that day, there's also a lot more food to go around as well as special decorations... " Hermes kissed her again on the lips and smiled "The fire lights in the sky is so beautiful... You'd love them!"

Belle couldn't help but let her leg kick up sweetly at another kiss being pressed to her lips. Once he pulled away, which she wasn't to happy about, she forced out a smile and nodded. "It sounds perfect. You know, if could be our first date." She fluttered her eyelashes sweetly, already figuring this meant they were a couple now. Besides, who wouldn't want to go with her on a date? She did everything to keep herself presentable but she had to admit it was difficult. Now she had a specific boy to look pretty for now. Hermes. She would try every trick in the book to look as radiant and gorgeous for him as possible.
"Well, do you have to be somewhere? I mean... for now can't you just... lay with me?" She stood there and waited patiently for an answer. Would he want to keep her company or did he have other plans? To be quite honest, she would be upset if he refused or made up excuses but if he had to go then he had to go. She just waited and waited, her grip on his hand squeezing tight and she begged him with her blue eyes.

Hermes' heart almost stopped beating at her pleading eyes. His own softened and without any warning, swept her off her feet. "And where would this lovely lady like to rest? Under the safety of the porch with the luxurious rug to keep you comfortable? Or would you prefer to be able to view the world from higher grounds, like the roof for instance?" he purred.
He liked how she seemed to just fit into his arms. Like he was made to hold her. He smiled to himself.
