"Pi-geooooooot!"

The call of a lone Pidgeot cried through the air, the avian flapping its large wings as it dropped down a package and swerved away from the large log building and off into the sky. "Oh it came!" chirped a Meeka as her ears perked to the large bird's cry. As she quickly opened the door to obtain the wrapped box, the package was still set amongst the air. It came flying down and hit the poor orange haired female in the face, causing her to fall back. Medley's eyes opened wide to the sudden gesture and quickly ran to the side of her knocked out sister, dragging her backwards into the general store she had just left. "Seriously, I think you always get yourself into trouble..." she muttered under her breathe all the while as she continued to drag her sister back to the safety of the building.

Having finally pulled her back inside, Medley set a cold towel on her sister's forehead, waiting for her to gain consciousness. She also had removed the package that had hit Meeka in the head and opened it up to reveal the contents inside, which was more stock for the shop. "Catherine!" Medley called, which caused the feminine Mewtwo to teleport into the shop's front. "Huh?" yawned Catherine, stretching as she stared down at the little girl. "What's wrong Medley? Did Meeka hurt herself again?" Medley gave a solemn nod as she turned the package up towards the Mewtwo. "She got hit in the head with this and is out cold. Could you take it to the back please? She will wake up soon. Somehow my sister is always capable of surviving these concussions." Nodding her head, Catherine teleported away. Medley turned her attention back towards Meeka who was finally stirring with life. "Awake now?" she asked to which she earned the reply of a quaint nod. "Aye, that lil' package sure gave me a good whop on the head!" she laughed as she picked herself up. Medley frowned to her sister, who just seemed to be brushing off her sudden injury. "Well, whatever." she said with a shrug as she turned behind the counter. "Get yourself off the floor, we might be getting some customers soon."

"I'm telling you, I know there's a store around here!" The young trainer named Opal told her Gastly floating alongside her. The Pokemon just rolled her eyes. Gast-gastly... Gastly! The girl shot an angry glance at her Pokemon. "Oh, don't give me that look, Nerezza! I know for a fact that there is a store in this area. So stop with the sass, all right?" The Gastly stuck out her tongue at Opal, then grinned and licked her. The girl felt her body freeze, but she knew that it was a gesture of kindness. "Yeah, yeah," she smiled, poking her Gastly. "Love you too."

As they continued to walk, they finally came upon the store. Grinning at her Gastly, Opal continued to the store in time to see an unconscious girl being dragged through the doors by what the trainer assumed was the young girl's sister. The trainer looked at her Pokemon. They shared a concerned glace, and they both rushed into the store. As Opal entered, she saw the two that she saw earlier. Feeling her Gastly beside her, the trainer looked at both of them. "Uh, is everything all right? I saw that she was unconscious..."

Medley eyes shot up to the trainer who seemed to have entered into the store. "Ask her yourself." she said, waving to Meeka who was still upon the floor. Meeka jumped to her feet and twirled around, giving Opal a warm and gracious smile. "Aye, I be alright." she laughed, her hand whipping out in front of her to offer the other a standard hand shake greeting. "Welcome to me general store!" Keeping a smile plastered on her face, Meeka's eyes arched to the Gastly that seemed to belong to the other. "She's a female, aye?" she asked, her face twisting in thought. "She be healthy alright! Oh errr, dun' mind me. Heh. I be a breeder, so I kinda get lost in thought sometimes." she laughed again.

Medley sighed lightly. "Sometimes? Talk about all the time." she muttered under her breathe as she packed some shelves.

A lively whistle preceded Roise, a happy tune full of pep. It was her day off, so she wore civilian clothes and let her hair hang loose beneath a wide-brimmed hat. She'd set out before Cab, her room mate, had risen so she could engage in secret activities - gift shopping. Cab had recently gotten her first pokémon, even won a battle, and Roise wanted to celebrate. She had a mind to visit a local general store where she might find something Cab could use for her study and adventure.

"I wonder if they're busy today," she mused to herself when she saw one young girl quickly disappear through the door. Roise was in no hurry however, having missed the incident of the falling parcel.

"Good morning," she said as she came in, her eyes sweeping the area. Even on a day off it was hard not to record the details of the room and people and pokémon in it. She wondered which of the other two might be the shop owner, the third being the one who'd only recently arrived.

Opal was startled by the shop owner's sudden kind and welcoming attitude. Cautiously taking the girl's hand, she noticed her staring at her Gastly. "Yes, she's my Nerezza. Would you believe that we've only been together for a little more than a week? Inseparable, we are." Opal looked over to Nerezza for confirmation of this fact. The Gastly returned her trainer's gaze and hovered to the shop owner. Studying her for a second, the Pokemon grinned, baring her sharp teeth, and licked the girl. Gastly-gast-gastly!" Opal laughed and poked the Gastly who smiled at the gesture.

"So, you're a breeder? I don't think I ever met one before. What exactly do you do, I mean, besides... well... breed?" Turning a light shade a pink, Opal unconsciously fixed her hairband while noticing out of the corner of her eye a very cheery looking person walk in.

Meeka granted a smile to the next person who entered into her store. "Howdy!" she said with a small grin towards the newcomer. Nodding her head and giggling lightly to the Gastly's greeting, Meeka patted the ghost Pokemon. "She be a good partner alright! With Breedin', well..." The red haired trailed off into thought as a Raichu toddled into the store front, its mouth opening wide in a vague yawn. As it wandered passed Medley and to Meeka's feet, it tugged on the end of her dress. Casting a smile down to the young Mouse Pokemon, Meeka picked it up and hugged it to her bosom.

"Well, I raise Pokemon too." she said, patting the Raichu's head. "Breeding is more about learnin' about Pokemon that anythin' else. Like I learned that a Raichu of any species knows a grass attack called Grass Knot ta use against Rock Pokemon to protect themselves in the wild. Sometimes I-" Before she could continue, Medley came rushing into the store, having come from outside. "Meeka...Ebba...stuck...fence..." she said as she heaved for breathe. Putting down El and rushing to the back, Meeka gave a worried look. "Ah, excuse me fer a minute." she said as she rushed passed her sister and the rows of berry trees she had planted out back. Behind her store was her first Pokemon, a Stantler named Ebba, whose antler's were caught in the fencing surrounding her home. The other Pokemon owned by the Breeder were grouped by him, trying their best to tug the poor Deer Pokemon free. Sighing, Meeka laid a hand on the Stantler's back. "You 'kay there buddy?" she asked, stroking his back gently. "Stannnnnn." piped out Ebba, who just wanted to be free.

Roise returned Meeka's grin, but only listened with half an ear as she spoke to the other customer. Breeding wasn't really something she had an interest in, nor was strategy. Once she got her partner she'd stick by that one, training until he was strong enough to take on anything that happened in the line of duty.

She browsed the wares, deciding not to intrude upon the conversation until she needed help for anything. However when the two - sisters perhaps? - rushed outside to leave the store unattended, Roise's interest was piqued. She gave the other shopper a smile with a curious bend to it and went back outside to see what the commotion was about.

They weren't outside the front door so Roise wandered to the back. My, my. The poor Stantler certainly wasn't having any fun, and Roise's mind began working. Simply sawing through the fence would require repairs. "Need a hand?" she asked, while inspecting the fence to better understand its construction.

Opal listened to Meeka with honest interest. Besides battling, the trainer was equally intrigued with learning about Pokemon, taking care of them, and befriending them. But the Raichu bit piqued her interest. "Really? An Electric type can learn a Grass move? That's really neat!" Thinking on this, she started browsing the merchandise with Nerezza at her side. When Meeka rushed out, Opal eyes shot wide open and began to follow her out.

As Opal started out, she saw the other shopper give her an odd smile that made the color momentarily rush to her cheeks. Nerezza rolled her eyes and gave her trainer a light, but firm shove toward the door. Suddenly wheeled back into reality, she rushed out of the store doors to a small mass of Pokemon huddled around a Stanler stuck in a fence. Opal looked at Meeka, then to the group of Pokemon, then to the other shopper, then to the Stanler. Fingering her hairband ribbons, she kneeled down so that her face was level to the stuck Pokemon. Opal stroked the Stanler's head, hoping there was some way to get it out.

Catherine teleported in, having making sure that all the humans who had entered into the store before was gone. "Ebba's in the fence again?" she asked Medley, who sighed and took a seat back by the counter. "Yea," she replied as she smothered back some hair. "He got his antlers stuck again. But that is the least of my worries. Shouldn't you be back upstairs? You are suppose to be a hidden, not shown." Catherine's bottom lip puffed up. "Hmmph! Do you know how boring it is to be stuck upstairs alllll day? You and Meeka meet people all the time while I have to stay upstairs and stare out as the other Pokemon play." Beckoning her over to take a seat, Medley patted her head. "I'm sorry Catherine." she said, her eyes growing somber. "You'll only have to deal with this for a little bit longer until the Rockets get off our trail." Catherine just nodded her head, and wagged her tail about. "If you say so." she replied.

Ebba felt a sudden rush of happiness when Opal laid her hand upon his head. He let his tongue lull out of his mouth and licked her face, Stantler slobber and all. Meeka giggled lightly, seeing as her Stantler seemed to have lightened up after seeing another girl. Pointing to several of her Pokemon, Meeka gave instructions. "Poji, get the jam. Ella, wake yer poppa up. Chevalier, take El inside. Ver, I'll be needin' yer help too. Heila, bring the rope." Having followed their owner's instructions, Ella woke up and brought her father Kiru, Poji brought a bottle of Pecha Jam, Ver set beside Meeka, Chevalier dragged the eager Raichu away and Heila brought some rope. Turning towards Roise who offered assistance, Meeka just grinned again. "Naw, don't wanna git yerself tangled in this mess. That Stantler there is a little hyper...if you get what I mean, heh." she replied with an honest chuckle afterwards.

Taking the rope, Meeka tied it to the back of Ebba than gave it to Kiru to hold. Snapping the lid of the jam off, Ebba's ears perked to the sound and began pull back against the fence, taste buds tingling for his favorite snack. Kiru assisted the deer in the pulling, tugging. Finally, the Stantler squirmed out of the fence with much fight and pulled free, tackling his owner for the jam she held within grip. Giving it to him, Meeka laughed as the Deer Pokemon forgot all about his troubles and set out to eat his jam, licking inside the jar for the sticky treat. "Its 'kay now, everythin's alright." she said to loosen any knots of worry.

Roise chuckled at the Stantler's reaction to what must be a favorite treat from a safe distance, and was glad she'd opted not to pet the stuck pokémon. She detested getting slobbered and liked to stay looking her best. Seeing that all was well she decided to go back to her original reason for coming out to the shop. Shopping! "Well done," she said before heading back to the front of the building and the door. It was nice to see things taken care of and put to rights, even if she'd had no hand in it.

When she entered again, she went back over her mental list of what she'd like to get for Cab and wondered which items were likely to be in the shop.

((No reaction to Catherine since I'm not sure how fast she can get out of there.))

Opal smiled at the relaxed feeling that emanated from the Stanler, and laughed when he licked her face. She didn't mind the slobber. It was a token of appreciation from the Deer Pokemon. Standing back to let the hustle and bustle of Pokemon by, Opal noticed how much they cared about each other. Silently, she hoped that one day, she would have Pokemon that cared for her and trusted her like these Pokemon trusted and cared for each other and for Meeka.

Opal felt a heated gaze from behind her. She didn't need to turn around to know it was Nerezza. She can read me like a book... Opal thought. She turned around and gently stroked her Gastly. Gast-gastly... The young girl smiled. "You don't count. You've trusted me and cared about me since day one. And I care about you and trust you back."

Still "holding" her Gastly in her arms, Opal went back inside to hear Meeka's sister talking to some unknown person. Curiosity overruling her train of thought, she started through the door, only to be pulled back by Nerezza, who shook her head. Opal understood, knowing that it would be rude to interrupt someone else's conversation. When the two stopped talking, Opal cautiously went inside, only to see the shop owner's sister behind the counter. Thoroughly perplexed, she went up to the woman. "Um, excuse me, but weren't you talking with someone earlier...?"

Catherine teleported away as soon as she sensed the other humans making their way back into the shop. She had only switched her location to the backroom, where stock of the shop was kept. As she warped into the room, she clumsily misguided her thoughts and fell on top of some boxes instead, causing the contents inside of the boxes to clatter and clash with the ground below. She moaned in agony, having hurt herself a little too bad with her mistake. She began to curse next, spouting out harsh words as she didn't hold in her telepathic thoughts.

Medley shrilled up from Opal who approached her and waved her hands in front of her all the while. "Oh no, no!" she cried, with small stutters. "T-There was no one here! I, uh..." Pointing to El and Chevalier quickly, Medley laughed sheepishly. "I-I was talking to Chev and El. Yep, yep! No more pooping in the corner Chev, you hear that, no more!" The Poocheyena gave Medley a look before hurriedly running up stairs that lead to the second floor of the store.

Meeka was too lost in thought as she entered into the store. "Hmm..." she mused as she wandered over to Roise. "So, what exactly are you looking for?" she asked, wanting to be of help.

Rather than answer the question, Roise's investigative nature went into full drive. "I don't smell any poop," she said casually, while silently cursing herself for not paying more attention as she'd gone through the door. Of course there'd been voices, she just hadn't thought anything of it and now she wished she had.

"So which is it? First there's no one, then it's a pair of innocent pokémon." Her eyes strayed to the stairs, perhaps whoever had been here had gone that way. It never crossed her mind to think why she was suddenly questioning this shop owner. It was a mystery, and one she wanted to hide. Many possibilities ran through Roise's mind - she could be hiding Rockets. Or hiding someone from Rockets. Or it could be entirely unrelated to the two - some petty thief. An unattractive family member. A lover. With each as likely as the next, at least to Roise, and she wanted to get to the bottom of it.

Besides, catching Rockets might land her an official partner sooner.

Opal flinched away at the woman's sudden anxious and seemingly secretive behavior. The trainer bit her lip. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, I-I..." Stammering severely, Opal wondered if she said the wrong thing at the wrong time. Whatever it was, she clammed up and continued looking for the items she needed in silence.

While her trainer went shopping, Nerezza knew in her figurative gut that something was out of place here. Her eyes glanced over to the other shopper, who seemed to be questioning the shop owner. What is she, a policewoman? But noting her furvative behavior, she reasoned that that must be what she was. Looking around, Nerezza's instincts told her that there was someone powerful present. She didn't know whose presence it was, or where it came from, but she would figure it out.

Meeka shrilled up just like her sister to the woman she was beside. "Ahhh...Chev...poops outside." she tried to say with reason, grinning nervously as she inched away. She shot a look to her sister, who twiddled her fingers on the counter in various ways. It was a secret language invented by Meeka and her sister while young. It still wandered with them as they aged and hasn't grown old either. Nodding her head at her, Meeka turned to Opal than Roise. "Would any of you like any sweets?" she asks, smiling warmly. "I can gladly cook up some brownies with some Magost berry bits if you like. It might sound odd, but it is quite good! You two should definitely try some..." Meeka avoided Roise's second question completely, trying her best to be oblivious and not give a response.

Tottering her head towards El to head to the back room, the Raichu waddled to the back to check out his friend. "Aichi?" it asked as it approached the ivory Mewtwo, sniffing as her to make sure she was still breathing. Catherine giggled as El's nose tickled her cheek. "I'm fine, El." she said as she pulled him into a hug. She whipped up into the air with him and tickled him, causing to cry out with laughter. Catherine giggled as she set him down. But in doing so, her shoulder nicked another box and caused it to tumble. Pokeballs and Antidotes spilled out into the floor and Catherine's face puffed up with anger. Using Psychic, she began to pack away the contents upon the floor, tiding up the mess she had caused.
