Tell us about your favorite food! What is is, why do you love it, who makes it best, where's it come from, special memories, whatever you like!

Beans on toast and a nice pot of Earl Grey. Why hi there, British stereotype! xD

My Nana used to feed me beans on toast as a child, and it's on her that my mum blames my tea addiction. It's a bit difficult to find proper tinned beans in the States, but they are available online either through British specialty stores or Amazon.

They're my comfort food. When I'm sad or sick or upset, I'll often turn to them for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Thickly sliced, buttered wheat toast with lots of beans, topped with black pepper and cheddar cheese, grilled so the cheese is melted--is there anything more delicious and comforting?

And to add a minor wtf to the mix, I'm not actually British. razz

Just had my favorite meal the other day, actually, and I believe there might still be left-overs! Hooray! I always request this meal for my birthday. Weiner schnitzel and spaetzle (or "German egg noodles" I guess...). We usually use pork instead of veal for the schnitzel because it's cheaper, and I think my mom bakes it more often than she fries it. But it's soooooooo delicious! We discovered it in an Austrian restaurant by accident--and what a lovely accident!--because my dad saw the word "weiner" on the menu and thought it was the hot dog we saw another girl eating (none of us speak German at all). I think we had spaetzle at our former-foreign-exchange-student's house... I think her mom made some for us... I can't remember, really. But man, I could eat this stuff till I die!

This is spaetzle (pronounced shpet-zluh).
This is a spaetzle maker.
This is delicious weiner schnitzel.

We usually have apple sauce and/or mashed potatoes with it, so it's a very beige dinner. C:

I also love cheese tortellini with pesto. That's a lot easier to make than the German meal, so I get it a bit more often.

My favorite snack was passed on to me by my mom; it was her favorite snack in college. Carrots, peanut butter, and raisins. Like ants-on-a-log, but with a different vegetable. So. Good! (Btw, I was practically raised on peanut butter.)

Favorite dessert is chocolate mousse, but we only get that on Christmas. So for the rest of the year, I indulge with Tillamook's Udderly Chocolate ice cream. It's the best of the very best.

I love, love, LOVE sushi. I can't get enough of it.

California rolls are cool and refreshing, avocado rolls are tasty as hell, and eel and avocado is just amazing. My favorite type of sashimi is mackerel, I love the fishy taste. Una-don is really good for a meal: broiled eel over rice. blaugh I'm going to miss Snappy Sushi so much when I move to Chicago. It's got really cheap prices and the quality is amazing.

For a food that I could eat every day and not get tired of, I would definitely say eggs. You can make them so many different ways! I love mixing some egg and cheese in the microwave, then dipping into the cheesy goodness with some toast. The best eggs I ever had were in Pennsylvania. Eggs Benedict with crab meat. Mmm. Too bad the restaurant doesn't serve that anymore, so even if I wanted, I couldn't go back and get any. emo

I love California rolls! When I went to visit my friend (in California, haha), she took me to a restaurant called... either I Love Sushi or We Love Sushi, or something like that.
Best. California rolls. Ever. Maaaybe because they'd been deep-fried and then drizzled with this delicious spicy sauce stuff that was yumyumyumsogood! I miss it so much...
Funnily, I was only introduced to sushi a few years ago.

My local friend introduced me to eel. Not sure what kind it is or what name it goes by, but yuuuuum! I should remind her that she owes me some...

I quite like sushi too, when I can find vegetarian varieties. I really ought to learn how to make it myself, since I keep the rice for it, as well as nori, on hand for onigiri. ninja

I just love food in general. xd

But depending on the TYPE of food, I do have some favorites.

My favorite fruit is the apple.

My favorite dessert is cheesecake or anything with that texture; but cheesecake is at the top of my list.

Above all else...

My favorite food, all by itself and not like, a meal, is fruit. Almost any kind, any time, is welcome. Not a big fan of green apples or melon but almost everything else is game! smile I especially love berries and bananas.

Lady Jade: I totally hear you on the cheesecake thing. OMG yes cheesecake.

may you know joy

My favorite food by far is the steak parmesean my parents make. I normally don't have plate-after-plate-after-plate of food but when they make that, I could eat the whole pan.

It is practically orgasmic; I think I gain 10 lbs everytime we have it. *Laughs.* It's the only time I really don't care if my pants are suddenly 2 sizes too small.

There's a take-out/delivery place nearby where I live called G&G's Quickbite, and they have this sub called the "Hot Fat Chicken." It includes chicken, Parmesan sauce, hot sauce, mozzarella sticks, Cajun fries, on toasted white sub roll. It's so yummy and spicy, and on top of that the 18" sub only costs 10 bucks; so I tend to get an 18 incher, eat half for lunch/dinner and save the other half for my next meal. 3nodding
