Ellandra drifted into wakefullness, not entirely sure of where she was, or why there was a weight draped across her. At least, not until she opened her eyes and realized that the weight was Faolan, who had managed to turn himself into a blanket somehow during the night. As she blinked up at him, she recalled how she'd come to return to Farstep, and guilt struck her through the heart again. "Oh, Faolan," she murmured very softly, not daring to try to move him off of her.
Meanwhile, Rhian was still asleep, cuddled up to Ziazan with one wing spread over her sibling, sleeping the sleep of the dead - or at least of a deeply exhausted flutterby. She likely wouldn't wake until forced to for something or other.

Faolan snored softly in his sleep, draped over his wife. His face was peaceful and calm, as if in the deep recesses of his mind, he was aware Ellandra was next to him. One ear twitched every so often, picking up little noises either real or in his dreams.
Sprawled out on its back, Ziazan was the opposite of its owner at the moment. It's eyes were open and face turned towards the doors of the cabinet bed, still sucking its thumb as it listened for sounds within. One arm rested casually around its sister, not wanting to disturb her sleep.

Ellandra couldn't resist - she reached up and very lightly stroked the visibly twitching ear. "I'm so sorry, Faolan," she said quietly, watching him sleep.
Rhian snuggled closer to her sibling, not even talking in her sleep as she was so worn out. However, a bit of color had returned to her wings and her antennae were no longer flickering, so she seemed to be doing better.

A small shudder went through the young man at the stroke to his ear and he began grinning and making soft happy noises in his sleep. Slowly, golden eyes opened. "Mornin'."

Ellandra blinked up at Faolan, tears gathering in her eyes as she spoke a quiet, "Good morning," to her husband for the fest time in what felt like forever. She trembled a little, those tears starting to spill over and down her cheeks. "I'm - I'm s sorry, Faolan. . ."

"Shh, love," he soothed, stroking the woman's cheek. "Donnae matter. You're home now. Ah wis stupid. Cannae exactly blame you fae leavin'. Joost donnae do tha' again, alreet?" He gave an easy grin, though some worry still showed in his eyes. He chewed his lip a moment, then looked around before focusing on Ellandra again. "How'd Ah get back here now, eh?"

"I won't," Ellandra said, reaching up and placing a hand over the one Faolan was stroking her cheek with. "And. . . Keagan carried you here last night, after you fell asleep. . ." She bit her lip and closed her eyes before continuing, "Y-you should probably rest some more. . ."

"Ah feel alreet now," Faolan said, stretching a bit before curling up around Ellandra again, careful not to lay on her this time. "Da carried me? Really? Didnae think he cared tha' much."

Ellandra snuggled close to Faolan, sighing a little. "Please, don't strain yourself. . ." She was still so worried about him, and still feeling utterly despicable. Nevertheless, she nodded. "Yes, he carried you. . . . I think - I think he cared for you the entire time. I think he was really worried, from what I could tell."

"Well, much as he pretend he donnae like me, he's still me da an' Ah guess tha' counts fae somethin', yeah? Must've worried him fierce, though, to take care o' me like tha'. He ain't nursed me none since I was a boy."

Ellandra sighed again and blinked a little. "I think. . . I think you had everyone . . . very worried," she said, tears rising to her eyes again with the unspoken thought of 'And it's all because of me.'

"I didnae know what t'do wi'out you, lover," Faolan confessed, giving a soft sigh. "I felt so empty an' alone an' it overwhelmed me. I'm not sure I would hae wanted t' gae on livin' if'n you wasnae comin' back." He moved a little so he could hug her close, then gently wiped at her wet cheeks with his thumb. "Nae tears, me lass. You wis reet t' leave me like tha'. I didnae treat you as I should hae."

Ellandra sniffed and somehow managed to bury her face against Faolan, the tears still coming. "N-no. . . . I - I wasn't . .. . I thought I - I was.. . . . thought it was b-best for. . . . for both of us. . . . b-but. . . it wasn't. . ." The guilt was rising now, threatening to choke her, but she gathered herself after a moment and hugged close to Faolan. "And you're not to blame. . . I wasn't - I wasn't talking to you like I should have been. . . let's - let's just. . . . . not let either things happen again. . ."
Meanwhile, on the bed with Ziazan, Rhian let out a snore and fluttered her wings, sitll sound asleep.

"Nae, love. Wonnae be lettin' tha' sorta thing happen again. I shoulda been discussin' things wi' you more, too," Faolan said, curling more around the woman. "I got distracted, though. I wanted t'be sure Lee would be alright on her own. I forgot tha' she ain't my first priority, an' I'm sorry fae tha'."
