Earth Alliance GAT-X105 Strike Gundam Description: Of the five prototype Earth Alliance mobile suits secretly developed at satellite Heliopolis, only this one escapes capture by ZAFT forces. The Strike Gundam is equipped with the same Phase Shift Armor as the other GAT-X units, rendering it almost invulnerable to physical attacks, and its shield has an anti-beam coating to protect it from energy weapons. The Strike can also be adapted to a variety of combat situations by attaching different Striker packs, and since these weapon modules also contain backup energy batteries, they can be used to recharge the mobile suit itself in mid-battle. With the young Coordinator Kira Yamato at its controls, the Strike's performance far exceeds anything its designers could have expected. Orb Union MBF-M1 M1 Astray Description: The final production version of the Astray series, designed for use by the Orb Union's national defense forces. The M1 Astray was developed by Morgenroete, using technology that the company obtained from its work on the Earth Alliance's GAT-X series. Based on the prototype Gundam Astray, this machine has been redesigned for mass production, and is equipped with a backpack flight unit inspired by the Strike Gundam's Aile Striker pack. The M1 is more than a match for the mass-produced mobile suits of ZAFT and the Earth Alliance, but its production and deployment have been delayed until its operating system can be adapted for use by Natural pilots. ZAFT ZGMF-1000 ZAKU Warrior Description: The ZAKU Warrior, whose name stands for ZAFT Armed Keeper of Unity, is part of a new series of mass production mobile suits developed by ZAFT after the end of the previous war. The ZAKU was originally intended to use a nuclear engine, but after the conclusion of the Junius Treaty it was redesigned with a conventional battery system instead. Its overall performance is nonetheless very high, and it can adapt to a variety of combat situations using specialized Wizard backpacks. In the hands of an expert pilot, the ZAKU is a match even for the newest Gundam mobile suits. The DINN is capable of independent flight in Earth's atmosphere, allowing it to carry out aerial attacks or provide air support for ZAFT's ground forces. These machines are also stationed aboard Vosgulov-class submarine carriers, providing ZAFT's naval vessels with substantial air power as well. Similar in design to the high-performance command mobile suit CGUE, which was created by the same designers, the DINN is equipped with variable-geometry wings and a variety of anti-air and anti-ground weapons. Earth Alliance GAT-01 Strike Dagger Description: The Earth Alliance's first mass-produced mobile suit, which was based on data from the prototype Strike Gundam. The Strike Dagger's operating system is designed for use by Naturals, making it possible for ordinary Alliance soldiers to pilot these complex machines. Its design has been greatly simplified due to the requirements of wartime production, and it thus lacks the Phase Shift Armor, Striker pack technology, and overall high performance of the original Strike. Nonetheless, these incomplete machines soon prove their worth in mass battle against ZAFT's own mobile suit forces. Although nominally commanded by Natarle Badgiruel, this ship is actually under the control of Blue Cosmos leader Muruta Azrael, who uses it as a base of operations for his trio of powerful new Gundams.
