"Ugh..."

Bleary eyes opened to the world, and a loud groan only followed. The brightness hurt. Who turned the sun up? There wasn't about to be an explosion or an apocolypse or something, was there? The shiny leprechaun reached up to swat the light away, but only ended up blinding himself with his sparkling arm and groaned again, flopping the arm back down beside him ... and hitting something.

Confused, Criofan cautiously poked at the object beside him. Weird, his pillows usually weren't so fleshy. And red. ...Wait, fleshy? And red? Though it was hard to think with his brain pounding against his skull, he knew something wasn't quite right about a fleshy, red pillow. He squinted his eyes and leaned in closer to see if he could figure out what exactly he was sleeping next to...

AN ANGEL?!?!

Flailing, Criofan fell right off the couch and onto the floor, smashing his head and consequently only making his head pound more. He groaned loudly, only to cringe at the sounds that emitted from his own throat. In an attempt to shut up his own loud noises, Criofan covered his mouth and squeezed loosely so he wouldn't be tempted to open that trap again.

...Where the hell was he anyway?

The leprechaun suddenly started glancing from left to right as if in a panic, shooting up so he could get a better look at the situation. That only made him dizzy, though, and Criofan let go of his mouth to push his arms out to the side for balance like he was an acrobat in training. His head was pounding, the noises were too loud, there was a strange female angel, and he was stuck in a strange place... and it was hurting to even think. Lovely. When would he actually wake up?

The flopping and the flailing and the light suddenly streaming across her face causes Amapola to curl into a tight little ball on the couch. "Gyuhh....why's the sun so bright...?!" she mutters, rolling over to reach for a pillow to put over her face.

And falling off the couch in the process.

"Aie!" exclaims Amapola as she hits the floor with an unceremonious thud. "What in the...how'd I get out here?" She looks around and starts picking herself up, unaware of the glow-bright pae in the room with her. Until she stands up.

"Ohmigosh," she breathes. "It's you." Running a hand through her hair she looks around and down at the floor, unsure of what to do at this point. "I thought I just imagined that and ohh...." She holds her head in her hands. "Ye gods, I have a headache." Gone from her voice is the characteristic cheerful squeak that makes her sound so airheaded.

Thud. Criofan groaned loudly at the noise, smashing his hands against his ears in an attempt to shut the world off. Unfortunately, it wasn't working. Even with his hands crushing his face like a crusher, the noises of the angel kept piercing like nails jabbing into his brain. Why did she have to talk so loudly?

Even Amapola's quietest voice sounded like shouting to him, and Criofan glared harshly as if that would make her shut up. Still, her mouth kept moving and words kept escaping, words he wasn't quite sure about and words he wished had more context. She knew him? He didn't know her. She was some weird angel in a weird house.

Was this a cruel joke?

Criofan cautiously removed his hands from his ears and forced them to his sides, his glare calming into a vacant stare. "Okay, you got me Magnus. You can come out now." The fae conceeded to his defeat, looking around for the obnoxious purple fae with his obnoxious tricks and his obnoxious voice... but he was nowhere to be found. The foreign room had no people except for him and this weird stripey angel thing.

Amapola sits down on the couch again, holding her hands over her eyes. The light hurts. The sounds hurt. The very air hurts. The blood throbs through her head like a stereo cranked to eleven.

"D'you remember anything that happened last night?" she asks in her quietest whisper-voice.

She's hoping against all hope that she maybe dreamed what had happened last night. Doubtful, but hoping. She hadn't had that much to drink, had she?

Ooh, Elizabeth is going to kill me....

[Sorry for the short post, it's late and I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon for a weekend at the beach. I might be able to get another reply off tomorrow, depending on how long it takes me to pack. I'll be back Sunday night, though it's possible I'm going to fall into bed as soon as I get home.]

(( I'm going to be pretty sparce this weekend myself. xD Enjoy your weekend. ^^ ))

Why wasn't Magnus coming out of hiding? This would be about the time where he would be done messing with him and just emerge laughing hysterically because he couldn't hold it in anymore. But there was no laughter, no purple, and certainly no signs that this actually wasn't happening. Nothing was starting to fade; he just felt like he was fading.

At least she wasn't talking as loudly now. The voice she was using was a little more tolerable, but it still made his ears ring like she was screaming at him. Everything was too loud and too bright, and Criofan groaned once again, smashing his hands against his ears once again to try and shut out the noise.

What was she talking about? Criofan didn't remember anything that he had done last night. All he knew was that he was in this really bright place with this strange angel stripey girl. He quirked a brow at her, before cautiously saying, "...No." The leprechaun cautiously glanced from left to right. Where was Magnus? Still in denial, Criofan wondered if this was one of Magnus' better executed tricks. The stripey angel certainly seemed to be good at faking ... something. Whatever that was.

Perhaps he could trip her up! Maybe she didn't have a solid story. He gave a lazy smirk, asking, "Why, do you?" attempting to be sly and threatening but just sounding tired and pained instead.

[Or you could be sneaky and post again tonight, lol.]

Amapola squeezes her eyes shut, not that he'd see that from behind her hands. "Unn...I remember...." she trails off, still using a quiet voice that mercifully doesn't ring in her ears as much as his did. "A party on the beach....and a very sweet drink...? I remember you, but not your name...." She isn't going to mention what else she remembers. Perhaps what she'd said already would jog his memory.

"There any way you can turn down the color of your skin?" she asks. "I've got the most brilliant headache..."

(( XD ))

She actually had a story. Though it was one that really didn't sound all that familiar, either. He did drag Magnus with the help of Texas out of the house to some sort of gathering, but he didn't remember much after that besides venturing out to the ocean. He just figured he had gone home at some point. Why was he here instead?

This was giving him even more of a headache, especially when it became increasingly obvious that there was no way Magnus was behind this. He simply didn't plan that well. Besides, Texas had planned to get his brother utterly wasted or something, right? Why wasn't smashing his hands against his ears shutting her up? The stripey one still sounded so loud...

"If I could, I would," replied the leprechaun, flatly, before cringing at the sound of his own voice ringing through his head. It felt like the vibrations of his vocal cords were rattling his entire person. It took him a few moments to be able to open his mouth and try again. "And... I don't know what you're talking about..." Criofan cringed again. "Who are you, exactly?"

Amapola breathes a sigh and leans back on the couch. He didn't remember anything. "My name is Amapola," she murmurs, putting one arm over her face. "I believe you referred to me as a, er, 'blood zebra' for the entire time." Funny. It'd sounded so much more endearing last night.

He'd also been much more charming last night. The more she hears out of him the more she doesn't like him in the daylight, and it isn't just because of her splitting headache.

"Anything to drink?" she asks politely, slowly getting up and starting for the kitchen.

Blood zebra? The term sounded vaguely familiar, but he didn't quite know why. Criofan tilted his head at her, mostly to observe her. Well, he supposed she did look like a bloody zebra. She had red and black striped skin and her hair was a dark red mane. Still, he didn't remember actually calling her anything; hell, he didn't even remember meeting her.

Still, he couldn't shake the feeling of the name being deja vu. Maybe she was right on some parts, but what did she mean about 'the entire time?' The entire night? ... Oh Guardians, how he hoped she was mistaken entirely.

"Yes. Water please." Criofan grunted out, before flopping down on the floor and making his brain rattle around in his skull. The feeling only put him in more pain, but he couldn't stay standing up or he would probably fall to the floor. In his current state, he had no sense of balance unlike usual. It seemed this whole headache was throwing off his usual lucky nature...

Amapola fills two glasses with cool water--not cold, just cool--and brings one out to Criofan. "I'd offer you something to eat as well," she murmurs, "but I can only really cook noodles."

She sips her water, and the cold hurts her teeth at first, but eventually it serves to calm her head at least a little. She realizes she's really hungry, but thinks that this...situation....needs to be dealt with before she raids the kitchen.

"It's fine," mumbled Criofan, as he slowly came to a sitting position for he could take the cool glass of water from the girl who had called herself 'Amapola' or 'blood zebra' or whatever it was. Admittedly, he probably should have ran away while he had the chance, but his head hurt too much and he wanted a few more answers. She seemed to know more than he did, and Criofan was a creature of curiosity.

He lifted the cup to his lips slowly and took a few slow slips, feeling the cool water drip all the way down his throat and into his chest. The leprechaun shuddered at the sensation, but at the same time, it felt relaxing. Even the water was helping to lessen the pain, though that may have been because his mouth was so dry.

After a few sips, he lowered the glass and glanced back up at the dark red mane. His voice came a little easier this time, "Err, so what exactly happened?" Not anything she had said had really jerked his memory yet; it seemed the alcohol had not only intoxicated him, but shot his memory of the events that spiraled out of control afterwards...

Amapola blushes deeply in shame at the memory. Luckily it isn't terribly visible due to her already deep red coloring. "Well, er..." she begins, fiddling with her glass, "We'd both had quite a lot to drink. And then you came over and started talking to me, and then I think you tried to steal my halo, but it snapped back into place and sort of took you with it? Anyway, you were in my lap somehow, and then I think I kissed you, and then you kissed me, or something? And then...well, we sort of came back here and...." She trails off and looks down at the floor. She runs a hand though her thick red hair and sighs.

"So what happens now?" she asks softly.

Okay, so he had gotten drunk. That wasn't so bad. And he tried to steal something that was obviously shiny; he couldn't be faulted for that when he was so joyfully inebriated. Yet, it was when she started talking about him falling into her and them starting to what obviously sounded like eating each other's faces and then heading back to this weird place--obviously Amapola's place now--and...

Oh.

Oh my.

Criofan's face seemed to turn a little green at the thought, and he nearly spat his drink back out into his cup. After taking a harsh gulp and gagging a little, he turned away awkwardly. Lovely. Well, pregnancies were caused by weird potions, right? Esmee only had babies after her fiance-of-sorts had tricked her into drinking that potion. So if there was no potion, there were no strings attached and he could go!

"Nothing. Nothing at all. We go about our lives and pretend it never happened." Something Criofan seemed a little too eager to do. He got up off the floor and dusted himself off vaguely... but unfortunately, his head started pounding more in the process. It felt like his brain was going to burst through his skull soon. Still, Criofan wasn't about to stay there any longer than he had to...

"Um. Yes. I think that would be best," agrees Amapola. "Especially before my sister gets home. It's still pretty early, don't you think?" she asks. Oh Guardians, what if she and Kieran had gotten home while she and...him...were....

She runs her hand through her hair again.

"Well, in an attempt to make this less horribly awkward, would you like another drink? Or something?"

Oh gods, she had... a sibling? The leprechaun went from being green to being pale. He had to get out of here. Criofan was too vulnerable and defenseless in this position, and who knew what her sister would do if she saw some random man in the house. This house wasn't even worth raiding for its treasures if there was a chance he was going to get in more trouble than it was worth; his luck already seemed to be not working today.

Criofan suddenly jumped up and gestured behind him. "Ya know, I think I'm just gonna... go," offered the leprechaun, as he began to back up towards the hallway. The sooner he could leave, the better off he would be. Then he could get away from this girl and pretend that the night before didn't happen. He already couldn't remember it; it wouldn't be that difficult for him to forget it completely.

"You have a good life." He gave her a thumbs-up and an incredibly cheesy smile before he ripped down the hallway, assuming that he would find some kind of door outside on the other end of it.
