Just on the Greatest Hits album, I can tell you it is doing very well in terms of sales. After only 4 days since its release it is already #5 in Australia. In the UK it is #6.

Tom's 5th Journal Entry
"I took a few days off to get a breath... I am in Santa Barbara enjoying the silence.....David went to Palm Springs, Atom moved into a new house and Ryan went to a few concerts.....we have been getting everything ready for a December 13 launch.....a song on itunes, angelsandairwaves.com with a merchandise store, and a trailer for the movie that will download with the song for your new ipod.....i am making a part of our website to have limited edition merchandise, extra songs, preview of the record, streaming concerts, free music, exclusive t-shirts...etc....it will cost a yearly subscription of about 20 bucks, but you will get a free t-shirt and a poster designed by the artist from Star Wars.....unless you are a p***y and too scared to join the future....I am so excited for you and for us....i felt a little down this past year....my addiction to music left, with all the changes in my life I was quite lost for a few months. But something I learned was to connect the dots as to how you ended up where you are, and the one thing that hasn't happened yet is the future.....I layed there one night and imagined the most brilliant day, all that was left.... was for me to make it.....the best way for me to share that with you is for you to get lost as well...but in my head, and in our music....if you can imagine golden sunsets, with spinning planets, and a shower of stars, that is our movie.....if you can feel excited, strong and heroic....that is the music.....what you do with it is up to you........Angels and Airwaves"

" hello party people. i'm back and i have terrific news. this new podcast, the one with my voice on it and some music on it, the one you may be about to listen to, well, it's not all that great. i know it. my engineer knows it. brendan and his wife know it. and you'll know it soon, too. and it's my fault. i take all the blame. just because the entire content is made up of me talking to the motion city soundtrack guys and the motion city soundtrack guys picked the music doesn't mean that anything should be put on motion city soundtrack. i mean, if i had to say that someone else was responsible, it would clearly be motion city soundtrack. but alas, i am the one steering this ship. and yet you can still count on some quality music and quality conversation. overall though, the podcast is a little undercooked. or overcooked. i don't want to tell you how you like your meat (or tofu for my vegetarian friends). the truth is, the motion city soundtrack guys did come through with some rad bands (this is me smiling, the maple state, limbeck). my wife, however, came through with a brand new black video ipod and an invite to a halloween party at carrie fisher's house. which is the main reason why on most nights i go to bed with my wife and not the guys from motion city soundtrack. anyway, here's what i'm suggesting: download the podcast, then download the new kevin federline jam (best song ever!), then eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. somewhere in there you'll find something above average to make up for the rest. remember, himynameismark might not always bring you great joy, but it'll always get you what you paid for....and special thanks to the motion city guys for letting me interview them, play their music and later that night ruin their show by inviting me on stage. oh yeah, and for those of you who've been picking up the black sidekicks, might i remind you that i paid $300 less for mine. man, that kind of made me sound like a bit of a jerk...a jerk who got a free sidekick"

Nothing much to report from the podcast. There wasnt much talking and whenever there was, it was with Motion City Soundtrack who featured throughout the entire podcast. Most of the podcast was just filled with songs.

"TOM DELONGE is getting ready to launch his new much-anticipated new band
Angels and Airwaves. Although DeLonge and his bandmates are still working on their debut album, which isn't expected to be released until April, an exclusive song will be made available through iTunes on December 20th.
"We're going to release a six-and-a-half minute song, a trailer for the movie and possibly a video, as well," DeLonge tells Kerrang!. "It will all be available through iTunes. The Song is called 'Valkerie Missile' and it's kind of a flagship track for the band. Choosing a song was hard for a day or two, because it will be the first thing people will hear, but we all came back to this one. It's really exciting and I can't wait for people to hear it."

There is a really cool interview with Tom all about Blink in the latest issue of Kerrang.

It does seem like Tom misses the Blink 182 days. Here are just a few cool highlights:
"Mark was always really, really good with words, so alot of times I would ask him for help with things..."
- Tom talks Mark and song writing.
"We were in the booth singing and Mark did this naked handstand," laughs Tom. "I'm holding his legs and his d**k's right next to this expensive microphone!"
- Tom talks the good ol' days with Mark.
"This is such a great song. Mark wrote this song. He wrote a really cool guitar riff... The song was originally called Peter Pan Complex..."
- Tom talks about Whats My Age Again.
"Anyone in our genre would be lying if they said they werent influenced by Blink 182."
- Joel Madden (Good Charlotte) admits he is a huge Blink 182 fan.
His girlfriend Hilary Duff also admitted she was influenced to become a singer after being at a Blink 182 concert and seeing the reaction of all their fans.

"podcasting is hard work. really it is. besides having to instruct my management to get me permission to use whatever songs i want, i also have to keep my engineer company while he edits the recording and bleeps the s--- out of my voice. well this week everyone else's hard work was worth it. we've got metric and moneen and dinosaur f---ing jr. and possibly the best podcast ever. EVER. i'm seriously psyched and i hope you will be too. in fact, when you're sitting around the table on thursday with your family and friends, getting ready for your thanksgiving feast, you're going to want to explain to that family and those friends what you're truly thankful for. my podcast. and if you could be thankful for two things, well, feel free to be thankful for the first season of lost, which i bought off itunes and watched in four days. really people, for my money, it really doesn't get much hotter than 42 minutes of commercial-free matthew fox...except of course for 42-minutes of commercial-free matthew fox in the wilderness. and with that said, i'd like to wish happy birthdays to travis, my sister anne and my mom (who's birthday festivities are outlined in this podcast). until next time..."
