Physical Description: Standing around five foot five, Alhambra is of fairly average height. She is of lean, athletic build only lending her very slight feminine curves. Her hips are just barely wider than her shoulders. Due to her habit of wearing looser, layered clothes, it can be sometimes hard to mark her as a girl. Her skin is a rich, warm dark tan naturally which only ever gets a light burn if she stays out in the sun all day. Her eyes are a foggy gray that can appear lighter or darker depending on the light and what she’s wearing. Her earthy cinnamon hair has a fine texture and, in the short, messy cut that she gave herself, it whips around in strong breezes. Plus, it keeps out of the way when she’s working.
After she impressed to Ista, she elected to keep her layered look in spite of the increased heat. She’s found a love of lighter, breathable fabrics in mostly natural tones.
She is never seen without the necklace her grandmother had made her. (Something similar to a shark tooth necklace sort of deal.)
Personality: Alhambra is a gal who doesn’t know how to do things part way. She feels with everything she’s got, works hard, and plays hard. She is outgoing, competitive, energetic, and loyal. She can be wickedly protective over her friends and those few possessions that she holds near and dear to her heart. Whenever she gets around people, it is a safe bet that she will have a big smile or grin on her face. (An expression that is somewhat of a trademark of hers. It is seldom that folks see her looking sad or upset, as she is generally optimistic and likes letting those she knows think of her as the strong one to go to if they are feeling blue.) Alhambra loves a good chat and a friendly competition. (She may be competitive, but she doesn’t let losing get her down. She can always get ‘em back next time!) Definitely a daytime person, Alhambra loves being about in the morning and in the warm afternoon and early evening. She starts to calm down into a somewhat more chill version of herself as the sun begins to sink behind the horizon. While she still emotes fully, instead of having enough energy to do laps through the Weyr, she is more likely to be seen just hanging out with friends, studying, and generally enjoying herself in the company of others. She enjoys being around people too much to let herself be alone for too long. If bored or feeling lonesome, she heads off to find the largest group of people to mingle and socialize.
History: The older of two children born to Camria and Jimothy of High Reaches Weyr. While she lived mostly with her parents, she had many friends amongst the weyrlings and sometimes would spend a night or two with them, never without asking or at least letting her parents know first, of course. Her mother helps run a little stand with her uncle, who was a journeyman baker. Her father is a Woodcrafter with a specialization in carpentry. Alhambra and her younger brother always enjoyed it when their father sat down by the fire during the colder nights in the Weyr and would carve small figures for them of dragons, dolphins, and on occasion people. (His usual projects were larger pieces, such as some furniture, utensils, and sometimes framework for homes and such, meaning his smaller carving were usually fairly simple with some basic details.) She rarely had any trouble in doing the chores that were given to her, especially if there was a definite break or reward for any good work she may do, even if it was just some left over sweetbread from her uncle’s stand.
All in all, her childhood wasn’t drama-filled or traumatic in any way. Her family wasn't overly wealthy, overly poor. Everything was pretty much normal. At least until she turned fourteen. She had been apprenticing as a Smithcrafter for a little over a year and was bustling about doing chores for her apprenticeship. It was early in the afternoon when a dragon that she hadn’t seen or heard of before came to the High Reaches Weyr. A sturdy looking dragon rider and his lifemate were surveying the crowd and pedestrians around them. Alhambra was one of those pedestrians. She was on her way back to the Hall, but was flagged down by the rider as she was passing him by. His dragon had indicated her out of the crowd. The girl was shocked and amazed that she was picked out of all the gathered people. Looking about the faces of those gathered, up to the rider and his impressive dragon, and then down to the bundle of things in her arms that she still had to bring to the Hall. She gave one of her big famous grins, chuckled a little embarrassed, and explained that she still had to finish the task at hand. After all, she had a job to do and she had set herself to finish it. Alhambra promised up and down that she would be back as soon as her feet could carry her. On the way back to the Hall, she spied her younger brother with a few of his friends. She asked him to tell their parents for her after she told him what had just happened. That was how they found out. Her family met her near where the rider was waiting, her uncle included. Her uncle gave her a pouch with some choice pastries from his stand and her parents hugged and kissed her. Her mother began to cry which warranted some further hugging and consoling. Her brother, who wasn’t known for being as affectionate as his elder sister, gave her a big bear hug and wished her all the best. She still writes her folks back home to keep them updated about how she’s doing and what she’s up to.
If things don’t pan out and she doesn’t impress by the age of twenty, she intends on staying in Ista to pursue Glass Smithing, providing a journeyman or a master in the craft would be willing to pick her up. If not, then she’ll either take up in the kitchens or go back to High Reaches to work with her family. (Although she has grown quite used to the warmer weather of Ista, so she may move to Ista Hold where her grandmother lives.)

-She has a bit of an unfortunate habit of developing crushes on straight girls.
-Either doesn’t realize when she’s violating someone’s personal space, or chooses to ignore it. (She has been known to sit or stand very close to those she’s fond of. Even so far as to drape herself across a lap or over a back. Or maybe steal a kiss if she’s feeling particularly amorous or mischievous.)
-If given the chance, she would prefer to sleep snuggled up against someone. (Think like a puppy. The less space there is between, the better.)
-She has some basic cooking skill from being around her mother and uncle.
