The Story
It's now 2034. While our technology has advanced, our culture has regressed. Crime is worse than ever, and cities everywhere are covered with a film of filth, scandal, and greed. That's when the nations' leaders all agreed upon one thing: Gladiator Island. It's an island off the coast of California, formerly known as Santa Cruz Island. It is part of the Channel Islands of California, all of which have been converted to gladiatorial prisons and military bases: Anacapa, Santa Barbara, San Miguel, San Nicolas and San Clemente are all military bases, solely there to ensure that no one tries to escape from the islands. The other three islands, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa and Santa Catalina, are all Gladiator Islands. Santa Rosa is home to the largest ever coliseum. There criminals are released and forced to battle each other, and if they don't, wild and rabid animals are released on them, killing all of them. Santa Catalina is one large, never-ending race course. There criminals drive vehicles as large as homes, armed to the teeth with weapons, the entire vehicle rigged to blow if the driver decides to try and drive off into the sea or take a pit stop. There are teams on each vehicle, taking turns driving, performing maintenance, etc. so that there's no need for pit stops. On Santa Cruz, however, it's all one large death trap. The island has been made into a lush forest, filled with wildlife and danger. There are traps everywhere, from quicksand to tar pits to spike traps and swinging logs. Hundreds of criminals are released on the island each week, and most die in the first day. Blood is shed so often on the island it has another name by the locals and military: Red Island. Everything, from the rocks to the trees, has been turned red from the blood. Blood constantly leaks into the surrounding waters, causing sharks of all kinds to inhabit them and induce them into a constant feeding frenzy. Those people foolish enough to try and swim away are swiftly killed, eaten alive by sharks. All of this, from the classic gladiatorial death to the 'survival' death course, is all aired live, constantly, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, without interruption or commercials. Everything has happened on this island: love, sex, drugs, birth, life, and, obviously, death. There have been many witnessed attempts by criminals banding together to try and leave, and every time it has failed without intervention by the military or government. So, you, a newcomer to Gladiator Island, will surely not be able to... right?

The Setting
It's Friday, September 1st, 2034.
It's dawn, 6:35 am local time, the sun is just about to rise.
It's currently a bit chilly, but it's expected to warm up quickly. The sky is clear.
You are one of a two hundred and thirty five prisoners just arriving to Santa Cruz by way of prison transport.
The ship is just landing, and you're about to be set loose off onto the West side of Santa Cruz Island.

The Island ^Obviously, a picture of Santa Cruz. Thank you, Wikipedia.^Alright, here's Santa Cruz, current day. So, just imagine the entire island red and covered in a dense forest. See that little tip on the left side? That's where we're starting. Somewhere hidden on the island is a stash of weapons to give an advantage to whoever finds it. Keep in mind, they are not the most advanced weapons of the age, and are useless to anyone off the island. Alright, now here's a list of the dangers on the island. As we find more, I'll list more. Also, just to make sense, they purposefully breed dangerous animals and release them elsewhere on the island to maintain the extreme level of danger. The Law
1. I am God of this RP. If you disobey me, thou shalt be smitten.
2. Literacy. I intend on it. You know, good spelling, grammar, at least four sentences. It's called spell check. Firefox has it, Word has it, invest in it.
3. No godmodding. I'll godmod you out of my RP if you do it. There's no powers, either. Just normal people.
4. Activity. I demand it. Many of my RP's died because of this. If you're going to vanish, tell me.
5. There'll only be four spots, including the one I'm taking. That's right, only a few people. No more, no less.
6. As always, romance is allowed. Just don't bump uglies. Nobody wants to see you get freaky.
7. Violence. Duh, it's gonna be there. In fact, it's gonna get gory. That's right, gore away.

The Gladiators_Street_Name_[Ninamori Hideki]_The_Alias_[Father, Mori]_Title_[King of Hearts, Father]_Gender_[Male]_The_Look_[Mori]_Age_[27]_Personality_[He's sadistic, cold, and evil. Well, so says the news. That's how he is to those he dislikes and hates, also his victims. He's ruthlessly intelligent and suspicious of everyone and everything, not knowing the word 'trust'. He can be quite warm and welcoming, in fact, he's known as a partier and often has a posse of people who are just attracted by his atmosphere. He's a slippery one, though, and it took the government years just to pin a single crime on him.]_History_[Hideki was raised on the streets of Tokyo, living in the slums and ghettos. Hideki began his own little empire of crime when he was only fourteen, starting his own bousouzoku gang. They mainly just defaced property, and started a few fires. Hideki killed his first person at the age of sixteen, by way of a Glasgow smile. He then dug out his victim's heart, keeping it for himself. By the age of eighteen, Hideki's small street gang had officially become an empire, with connections in far away cities. Hideki soon became the leader of what was now becoming a full-on yakuza. They began smuggling drugs and selling them to make money, and by the time Hideki was twenty-three, it was a full-on operation, complete with bribed police. Hideki's yakuza, known as the Ninamori-gumi, grew exponentially, and quickly overcame all others. Five months ago Hideki finally was able to be pinned to a series of crimes, and was found guilty.]_The_Crime_[Murder, extortion, theft, racketeering, assault, and just about everything else. Hideki's murder M.O. is a Glasgow smile, and then removal of the heart.]_Other_[His first name is Hideki (above it is written how the Japanese would read his name). He also has an expansive collection of his victims' hearts, all held in a hidden location, each in their own individual jar filled with formaldehyde. Wits, reflexes, and a steady aim are the law in his world. While talented, Gavin is one to exaggerate his performance; fortunately for those around him, he's a quiet one because he holds himself so high above others. He speaks rarely, but is prone to mentally insulting and degrading those around him, nitpicking at every little detail that stands out as a flaw or weakness. Despite his obsessive-compulsive drive to discover the shortcomings of others, he is stubbornly fixed on the idea that he is halfway to perfection, which is more than almost anyone else can say.... except Gandhi, Jesus, and Buddha.]_History_[With his parents divorced since his birth, Gavin went to live with his father, and his mother disappeared as fast as she possibly could. Gavin's father, Derrick Metzger, was a very laid back man with one goal in life: get by doing what he liked to do. He was critical of Gavin to no end, and made sure the boy learned at least two things in life: Gavin was to be seen and never heard 'n wasn't worth his father's turds in the toilet. Needless to say, the two never quite saw eye to eye. Gavin always knew he was better than his father, and as he progressed through puberty, these feelings were greatly amplified and solidified by his body's development. The Arizonian boy, fed up with his father's constant abuse throughout the years, finally beat his father senseless on the night of prom after Derrick scared off eighteen-year old Gavin's date. The younger Metzger was shortly thereafter emancipated by court order, and so he enlisted in the Army with the goal of becoming a sniper. He was unable to pass the aptitude test, and was discharged not long after due to emotional instabilities that arose in social situations. With no place else to vent his frustrations, Gavin Metzger turned on the unwitting citizens of Arizona. His new sport became hunting the folk of his home state, whether it be with rifle or revolver or knife.]_The_Crime_[9 Counts of Major Theft. 16 Counts of First-Degree Murder.
