 They had been traveling together for some time and the dark brown lioness had to admit that she enjoyed the male's company. She wasn't sure if she was ready, per say, to openly admit that to him but... She shook her head, there was no time to focus on such things, there was the bigger picture after all.
Without warning the female came to a sudden halt as an all too familiar smell hit her nose. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. The smell of the swamplands filled her senses and she found herself smiling. It smelled like home.
"You weren't kidding," she mumbled more to herself than to her companion. "You know, this reminds me of home, when I was a child at least."

"Really? " Though he'd spent most of his time paying attention to his "companion", Remo was slightly distracted when she spoke. Not by anything in particular, besides taking in the scent of his homelands. He hadn't realized how much he'd missed the swamplands during his pilgrimage.
"Is that a good thing? " He grinned sheepishly.

Mii'ah nodded a smile spreading across her lips. She enjoyed the company of her companion, it was the longest she had ever spent with one single person, not since she separated from her family as an adolescent. "It's most definitely a good thing Remo," she told him stepping closer to him. "Thank you," she whispered pressing her head against his neck.
"I've missed home and to remember, to smell a place so much like it..." she mumbled closing her eyes. "It means the world to me."

Okay, now his attention was totally back on track. He blinked, comically surprised by the sudden contact for a few moments before relaxing, simply enjoying it for a few moments. This was nice. But having her here right now quietly reminded him that she'd never guaranteed to stay here. Ooh, happy feeling gone.
"I'm glad you're enjoying this. " He said, managing to keep his quiet dread out of his voice. For now.
Time to come up with some awesome plan to mak her stay!

Mii'ah pulled back to study his expression. Remo was different than most of the males she used to surround herself with. He wasn't the suave type of male or a flirt, like herself, no he was more of a goof than anything else and honestly it was incredibly refreshing to her. It was perhaps the reason she stuck by his side for so long. Usually the earthy colored female toyed around with a male or two and was gone the next day.
There was something different about him that attracted her to him, she felt comfortable enough to touch him, nuzzle him, usually she simply flirted and flitted away. Things were definitely different.
"So, Remo, what do we do now?" She asked, a part of her wanted to stay but he had never invited her to and if he didn't say anything, she wasn't going to say anything. Maybe he didn't want her to stay.
Dread started to fill her.

Uuuuh. He pondered. Good question, yeesh. "I guess I can... show you around a bit! And if we run in to anyone I could.. introduce you? " He'd suggest her meeting his parents, or at least his mom, but... maybe that'd just be a little uncomfortable!
Quick, Remo, think of a cool place. A really really cool place so she'd feel like staying. Well, the whole swamp was cool! But... that didn't help much. For a really cool place, the swamp had few stellar and unique spots.

"S-sure, that sounds good," she replied pawing at the ground absentmindedly. It was the first time she had stumbled over her words of course this was the first time that she wasn't sure if she wanted to part ways from her companion. She had gone through her entire life knowing exactly what she wanted and how she was going to obtain it.
But with Remo things were very different, she felt so very lost. She felt like she didn't have much control over things and that frightened her. She was used to being in control but with him she had control over nothing.
She was falling and she didn't know how to deal with it.

"Okay, great! " He grabbed on to the opportunity quickly, glad to steal a bit more time with her. Even if he hadn't figured out a particularly fantastic spot just yet. "So, uhm, follow me, okay? " And Remo quickly jumped in to plan B.
Walk around and hope you find something neat.
Remo was having quite a few troubled now, too. Unlike his female companion, he hadn't grown up accustomed to control, but he still felt rather helpless and insignificant with this ache in his chest, the way he felt when she was around. Nothing in his life had ever prepared him for feeling like this, and now he was at a complete loss, but for once he was determined, and he'd win her over. So, he wasn't sure what he'd be winning her over for, yet, but Remo felt as if keeping Mii'ah around was extreme important.

"Alright," she replied before mumbling, "I'll follow you anywhere." She sighed and trotted slowly behind him. Everything was happening so fast, everything was changing so quickly. Remo was different than most of the males that Mii'ah spend her time with. He was nearly immune to her flirting was and frankly it was quite comforting to know that.
Still she didn't like the way he made her feel. It wasn't an unpleasant feeling, quite the contrary actually. It was a very pleasant feeling but it was one that she wasn't in control of and she didn't like that.
"Where are we going?" she asked as she quickly caught up with him. Some idle chatter to keep her distracted.

Remo was a little nervous as she walked with him, quite worried that, now that he was home, he'd become uninteresting. And he didn't want to lose her interest! So his paws seemed just a little weak as he walked along, like he were walking for the first time in hours. "Oh, I'm..." Not sure? "Just trying to get the hang of the swamp again. And if we see anything interesting, I can point it out to you. "
Woah, yeah. Lets walk around aimlessly in a swamp. During the day. It might have been a little redeeming at night, but if Remo had been trying to be romantic, he was failing miserably. And then it othered him thatthe thought ven came up. Did he want to be romantic?

She found herself laughing lightly at him when he responded to her. "It's been a while since you've been home hasn't it?" she asked bumping in to him lightly. She wanted to just stop and lean in to him and just sit there, that way if they parted ways she's always remember him. But instead she moved away from him quickly putting distance between them.
She didn't like it, but for once she wasn't sure that he liked her the way she liked him. Things were certainly becoming quite complicated and she didn't like it at all.

"Yeah, " He agreed, loosening up a bit now that he had something to talk about. It felt normal again, just talking to her like this. "It's great to be back. " It smelled nice to him. Well, other lions might disagree, but to him the swamp just smelled so nice and wet. And feeling his toes in the mud was great.
"Do you like it so far? "

Being here, in the swamps, reminded the dark colored female of home. The place she had grown up. Everything about it felt like a memory, the smell, the look...even the taste of the air. She stopped walking, closed her eyes and just inhaled deeply. She loved the scent of the area.
"It reminds me of home," she replied slowly. She stayed where she was for a minute before she opened her eyes. "It reminds me of my family."

He smiled at her while she wasn't looking. Not that he wouldn't want to smile while she could see it. But it's just, when she had her eyes closed like this, he could just look at her and it was fine. "You should meet my family sometime, they'd love you!" Well, he wasn't so sure. His family was a little odd. Sometimes. but they were good people.

"Thank you," she whispered to him moving to stand right before him. She touched her nose against his and smiled. "If I hadn't met you I wouldn't have come here, I wouldn't have be home," she told him taking one step back to create a little bit of space between them.
Now the female wasn't sure but everything about the pride screamed at her memories. For all she knew this was her home and her family had fled for one reason or another. Either way she knew she was meant to be here.
"I'd like that, meeting your family that is."
