 Kronos had managed to break away from his 'new' family. He liked them well enough, despite the fact that they were all a little off, but he knew he was exactly normal. No one esle spoke like him. He frowned slightly thinking on his mother and his brothers. He missed them sorely. Currently, with his father he had 4 half sisters, another sister, a half brother who thinks he's a boy and his brother. In a family of oddballs, how in the world did he still not fit in.
Kronos stopped plopping down where he stood and sighed, "Why world," he whispered, though he wanted to shout.

 Things weren't always as they seemed. At least, in Midori's opinion. The sun was hazy, but at the same time it was hot. It was cloudy, but sunny. The earth was a strange thing, and indeed, it wasn't what it seemed.
Just like the creatures who inhabited it.
The black cheetah was crouched behind a fallen tree, green eyes focused steadfastly on a locust in front of her. It appeared to be...Shedding? Was that the right term? Ah, the glories of nature...It was...Hm, it looked quite tasty...
Before the female had a chance to decide whether or not to eat the creature, however, a moving bundle of fur in the distance caught her gaze. She stood, forgetting all about the locust, and began to sneak up on the creature. One had to be stealthy when one was observing something unknown...One never knew what something could be, after all. It could be dangerous... It could be...
"A cub." the cheetah said almost inaudibly, once she realized what it was. But she remained stealthy. Surely she was invisible.
Standing in the middle of open savanna.

Kronos heard a light russle and startled slightly looking around. He saw a small snake slither by and laughed at his silliness. He was to far from him family and a small shout, if he could manage it would be enough to bring in the calvery.
He gazed across the savannah until his eyes fell upon another cheetah. He smiled at the mostly dark cheetah. "Hi," he whispered out another attempted shout.
He frowned deeply hoping the cheetah had heard him and doubting she had.
"Hi," he tried again whispers softly. His frown only deepen at his inability to control his voice.

Midori stopped in her tracks, head tilting at the tiny whispering sound that brushed her ears. She clearly saw the cub's lips move to form the word "hi", but barely any sound came out. Then he did it a second time. Was something wrong with his voice, she wondered? Or...
Was he just being stealthy...?
Hm. She would have to speak with the cub further to find out.
Tail curled behind her, the cheetah female made her way closer to the cub, not looking at all threatening. Besides, it didn't matter how she looked, because she was completely "invisible" from her amazing techniques. Of course.
"Hello," Midori greeted back, revealing herself (though she was already completely visible in the first place; it was all in her head). "Are you a ninja?" she asked plainly.

Kronos smiled as the other approached at him. 'She had heard him.' He watched her walk over and was happy that she seemed friendly enough. When she greeted him he once again whispered hi, but he face became rather confused when she asked if he was a ninja.
"A ninja," he whispered, "Is that some kind of pride? I really do not think I am a ninja. Are you a ninja? What does a ninja do?"
The whisper of question flowed out softly but with a certain aire of curiosity to them. Kronos stood up wiggling slightly with excitement.

When one asked what a ninja was...What was one supposed to do...?
As she thought about it, she wondered if it was alright to explain what a ninja was to the cub. If he wasn't one, which he said so himself, and he obviously knew nothing of ninjas...Was there some hidden code of secrecy wherein one didn't tell another about the secrets of being a ninja?
Head pulsing slightly at this point, the female's eyes narrowed and she blinked, ears turned back as she thought.
"A ninja..." she began tenuously. "Is...Shadow and stealth." she finished, tail tip furling. But there was so much more that made a ninja a ninja. There were many things...
Or perhaps there wasn't that much, and it was all in her head as usual. But of course, she was unaware of that possibility.
"Ninjas can be seen and heard one moment, and silent and hidden in the next."

Kronos listened intrigued by the female. "Shadow and stealth," he whispered to himself, not really realizing he spoke aloud.
As she explained, he could help but think a ninja sounded a lot like hide away. He played with his siblings before. Kronos looked at around until he spotted a patch of taller grasses and ran over to the jumping right in and trying to hide himself.
"Like hide away, right," he whispered popping up out of the grasses. "I love hide away. Do you want to play with me? If your a ninja I bet you would be really great at me."

When the male cub disappeared in the grasses, Midori's mouth opened into a small "o". Her eyes remained unusually emotionless as always, but judging by the rest of her, she looked a bit surprised.
So, the cub...Was a ninja? Or wasn't he? Perhaps he had said he wasn't merely as part of a mission he was on? Were cubs ninjas? Hm. So many questions.
Oh well.
"I do not think ninjas play." the cheetah answered calmly, with barely a hint of uncertainty in her voice. But why didn't they? This cub was bringing about so many questions; questions she'd never asked herself before. But why hadn't she asked these questions to herself before? Oh. There was another question.
It was a strange day.

Kronos frowned and sighed. Ninja's didn't play? He wondered why not and thought it sounded awfully unfair.
He came out of the grasses looking a bit sad, but then he smiled and whispers, "Than what do ninjas do? I play all the time. All cubs do and I think hide away is the best way to learn stealth."
Kronos grinned suddenly realizing a way to get the other to play with him, "Well if you can't play, then surely you can practice. I have to make myself a shadow and you have to use your ninja-ness to find me. Then I can try to find you."
Kronos sorely hoped ninjas were allowed to practice. Like he had to practice pouncing and stalking.

In truth, Midori was actually quite relieved when the subject switched to practice. The subject of play was very unfamiliar to her, and it was a bit unnerving for her to talk about it. It brought forth many previously un-asked questions to her mind, and strange feelings of "why not".
"Ah." the masked female began, staring down at the cub. "Yes, practice." she said. "That is good."
She shuffled backwards a bit and hunched down in the grass, waiting for the cub to scurry off and hide. It would be a test, indeed. She would have to use her senses to find his presence. She would not rely on scent or sight. It was all about one's aura. And she would find him based on that. At least, that's what she told herself.

Kronos smiled brightly, "Okay. Ninja practice it is."
Kronos scurried off into the grasses careful not to make to much noise. He was headed for a nearby tree that had a hollowed base. He grinned and giggle slightly as he slipped into the tree and settle down. His soft giggles were barely audible and he had to remind himself that he needed to stay quite, even though he was really excited about his ninja training.
He sat wondering if they female had started looking for him yet.

Midori promptly closed her eyes, remaining completely still where she lay in the grasses. She folded her ears back, attempting to close them off from the sounds around her. She began slowly, one by one, turning off her senses in order to focus solely on aura sensing alone. She was extremely skilled in that field, and practicing it was the joy of her life. She loved being a ninja and everything she stood for, and practicing was her reason for living.
In truth, all that aura nonsense was a load of bollocks, but Midori believed it with all her heart.
So it was then that, after a few moments, the female cheetah stood up, eyes closed and ears still folded. And she began walking. She breathed slowly so she wouldn't pick up many scents, and what scents she did pick up, she believed she couldn't smell anything at all. She began walking more, moving forwards, tail stiff behind her as her paws moved soundlessly over the ground. She kept walking, walking, walking, walking..."Feeling" for an aura.
Her walking took her far away from the long grasses and into a wooded area full of rotting trees and insects and birds. Still, she kept walking.
And she didn't stop until she was farrrrr away from the little cub she had decided to "play" with, probably never to see him again.

Kronos waited for a very long time for the female. She sighed as he became tired and began to drift off to sleep. He sorely hoped she would find him soon.
When Kronos awoke he noticed the sun was getting very low in the sky and he'd been in his hiding spot for a long time. He quickly climbed out and looked around for the female, but did not spot her. He was going to look for her, but he heard his family calling for him. They sounded worried.
He turned heading off towards home whispering, "Ninja should definitely learn to play. Its much better than practice."
