For Codail, few things could make her life better now. She was surrounded by cubs, both her own and not, in a home that was RIGHT. Her sister was by her side, and her dreams had started tugging at something in the back of her mind again. The only things that would make her life complete now...well, she couldn't have them back. But that was just as well. The cycle continued, and she'd let go of most of her grief.
For now, she watched over her own cubs as they slept in the den. They were such well behaved little ones...And Codail was rather tempted to join them in their nap. But she knew better. If she fell asleep with them, they'd wake before she did! And that wouldn't do.

These strange, mist-filled lands were...odd to Dagda. But at the same time, they felt like home. Like the home he'd lost so long ago as a cub. And they reminded him of someone who still held a great importance to him, someone that Muscail had pointed him in the direction of...Mother Codail. He smiled a bit as he trotted towards where Muscail had said the den was.
And when he saw her, watching over little ones as she'd once watched over him and the cubs of the Draíocht Coileán. And she still looked...He didn't know the word. He wasn't sure there WAS a word. Dagda shook his great brown head and stepped towards her carefully. "Sheperd Codail?" That was her new title. Though she was always Mother in his mind, he had to recognize her new self. "Your sister, Muscail, said I could find you here."

Codail blinked at the newcomer. He had to have been new...she'd never seen him before. But there was something familiar about him. Something that nagged in the back of her mind. She smiled and nodded to the male. "I am Codail. Is there something I can help you with, young one?" His mane wasn't filled in yet, though his size easily matched hers. And there was that nagging familiarity about him...

He smiled slightly, an action he hadn't done in far too long. Her voice was as he remembered it, strong and compassionate. "I wanted to tell you that you and your sister were not the only survivors." He bowed. "My name is Dagda. I was but a cub when the floods and sickness came to the Draíocht Coileán, but I have survived to stand before you, Mother Codail."

Codail stared at the brown adolescent, pale blue eyes wide. They...they weren't the only ones? She and Muscail weren't the only ones? She carefully moved away from the cubs, before looking him over fully. Dagda? The name was familiar...

And so was the coloring. And the markings. OH! The former Mother smiled bright and suddenly nuzzled the male. "Dagda! My Little Knight! Oh, cub, it is good to see you." She chuckled as she drew back. "But...you aren't a cub anymore. Nearly grown a mane."

Dagda froze a bit at the nuzzling, unused to the contact after so long. "I uh..." He smiled slightly again. "Yes...It's been a long time." He pawed his growing mane. "It's almost grown..." He shook his head. "How are you? The Mai-" He stopped himself. "Muscail said you have cubs again?"

Codail drew back, recognizing his hesitancy. He must have been alone, all those moons. Her smile softened, and she nodded. "I do. Five little ones, mostly boys. They are good cubs. And I do my best to raise them by the edicts of this pride, and the Draíocht Coileán. It is not easy...but I manage."

Being a mother, not easy for Codail? The thought confused Dagda. She had always been motherly. But Dagda nodded, knowing Codail didn't lie. "It is good to see you happy." He hung his head. "I...I missed you. And Muscail." He missed the entire pride. But in truth...it was Codail he'd missed most of all. "I've decided to stay in this place. It...it almost seems like home."

He was staying? Codail beamed happily at that. "Oh it will be good to have another who truly understands!" And Dagda had been such a good, sweet cub. Codail could see that base of who he was hadn't changed a bit. Only the outside he needed to survive. "You have been missed as well, little knight. Come! I can show you around, introduce you to our leaders!"

Dagda nodded. "I would very much appreciate that, Codail." It was...odd, but wonderful calling her simply Codail. He moved to her side, ready to let her lead him around. Now that he'd found her again...he would always follow her. In truth, he'd never gotten over his cubhood crush on her.

Codail had thought she couldn't be happier not that long ago. Oh how she was wrong. She was far happier now. Another piece of her beloved old home, of her beloved Draíocht Coileán, was alive and well! And she was...she was very, very happy with that. "Come...I'll show you to our leaders first. They'll want to meet you before we go wandering about."

Dagda didn't mind that at all. "Alright. Are they anything like the leaders of...of our old pride?" Of the place he'd been born into, and lost so long ago. It was also odd, knowing Codail was once again simply another part of the pride, rather than one of it's leaders. But...she seemed happy, at least as happy as she'd been all those moons ago.

The older lioness shook her head. "No...not really. They are wise, but they are not like the leaders of the Draíocht Coileán." She smiled slightly. "I actually find that a comfort. Though the Draíocht Coileán live on in us, other constant reminders would hurt too much."

The large brown lion nodded, knowing the truth of what she said. It was good the leaders weren't like those of the last pride he'd been in. "I look forward to meeting them, Codail." He smiled at her, the look a reflection of the cub he'd once been.

Codail felt...oddly complete now. At peace, completely. The loss of Anamuil was even further now. She would always miss him, but now...

Now she had family again. Now she had friends. And life was good. She was still alive, and life was treating her well once more.
