RP Fighting Manners
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
-Typically the two (or more) combatants take turns posting.

-If a blow is struck (or something that has an effect on the battle, like a hostile action is made) the post should end before another action is made. (Example: A second attack.)

-The other person should dodge (or react) in some way to the other person's attack before responding in turn.

-Posts during a fight normally describe a short passage of time. (Seconds-maybe a minute at tops) This is because of the second to second management of your character.

-If it didn't happen in the RP, it didn't happen. (It wasn't a clone if you didn't make one beforehand)

-For illusions please post what is happening in the real world and what is happening in the illusion. (Don't leave stuff out because someone wouldn't know it was an illusion.)

-All NPC Characters are managed by Staff exclusively. (Unless permission is given in special cases)

-Denying another person a response is god modding. (Example: I hit you with my sword, running you through- pulling it out then attacking you again.)

-If someone auto-hits or denies you an action in that respect fell free to "interrupt" their post. (Example: As you go to hit me with your sword I deftly roll sideways in an attempt to avoid your incoming strike.)

Character 2

Hostile action > avoid/take a hit, take action > avoid/take a hit, take an action... ect until the fight finishes

Not to single Razminion out, but her post (~Link~) is a good example of taking to many actions in a post.

In her well developed post we see her cast a genjutsu (after a little set up with a kunai distraction). In a fight, that's generally a good place to end it. Let people react to it.

She continues her post by sinking her teeth into her thumb for a summoning technique and summons a creature. This should have been a second post.

It's very hard to hybridize post content and fairness to your opponent. While a post can be well thought out and articulated well- it may not be a sound post. Take into consideration what people MIGHT be able to react to. (Even if it's improbable)

(I'm not beating on Raz, just unfortunately the best example of that I had at the time.)

Another thing that came up was "taijutsu combos".
A LOT of techniques are combos (in particular- the Hyuuga techniques).
This is not a hard and fast rule, but I am willing to allow combo's to hit in one post.

So it might look like:

Post 1:
Neji drops in stance and activates his Byakugan.
He yells, "Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms!!!" as he lashes out with dexterity and grace.

Post 2:
Sakura decides she would just LOVED to get touched all over and makes no attempt to dodge.

Post 3:
Neji executes the perfect 64-Palms strike... but doesn't like it.
Yadda... yadda... yadda...

I don't want people to abuse this rule.
I don't wanna see posts like this:

Post 1:
Lee rushes up and attempts to grab Sakura. He knows she wants it.

Post 2:
Sakura DOES want it and just lets it happen.

Post 3:
Lee grabs her around the wait and does a back-bend, dropping her on her head with a sick crunch. He then lets go, leaps up and does an elbow drop on her gut. Getting to his feet he kick her in the head a few times, allows himself the liberty of a quick breather before he lifts her up and drops her over his knee like he is "breaking the bat".

It may be a "combo", but it's not a single technique or action.

It's a dangerous president to set- but we just need to be vigilant.
