I love a good parody religion. They always have great websites and GREAT arguments. Oh, it's fabulous.
I want to make a list of popular spoof/parody religions.
1. The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (Pastafarianism)
2. Invisible Pink Unicorn
3. The Church Of Google
4. Frisbeetarianism
5. Jediism
6. Haloism
7. Raptor Jesus
If there are any more that you wish to add, feel free to suggest them. Also, discuss the merits of these (completely true) religions.

Well, since you've got the cult of the Jedi's on that list you should add Ninjaism and Piratism. Ninjaism ftw! ninja

MissDemeter Haloism, yes, one of my friends is haloist. (haloist?) But I've never heard of those other two. Could you possibly provide a link? I actually just made them up. However since you asked I searched about it... Turns out that there's a tiny community for Hogwarts: Church of Hogwarts And there is no religion called Starbucksity. I made it up. (There were fusses over a anti-religious quote on one of Starbuck's cups, however: Anti-religious Starbucks?)

If I see a religious quote, I just sneer at it, and go "pfffft, god." There's no reason to complain that a company has quoted an atheist. That's unnecessary.

My friend back in high school had a nice little parody religion going called Moypism. It centered around "Moyp the Crab" who would sail around the world on the Ship of Fools (or drive the "Car of Fools" if on dry land) handing out cheese crackers and bagels (with your choice of topping) to those in need.
It's not much of a religion right now as it doesn't have it's own website nor does it have many converts (at last count there were only 5), but in 3000 years it will be the predominant religion of the world according to him.
Now if only I find the picture....

There are people who really DO consider themselves to be Jedi. From what I understand, it's an officially recognized religion in some places, but it's supposed to be more of a philosophy than a religion.
To my knowledge, discordianism is another parody religion that seems to have been turned into an actual belief system.
I consider myself a Pastafarian-flavoured atheist. wink
