I play alto saxophone and I want to switch to clarinet. I don't want to switch to Bb clarinet because I'm really used to playing an Eb instrument. So I want to play Eb Soprano (Sopranino?) Clarinet for my High School Symphonic Band. But I'm not sure if they are very important in a band. We only have Bb clarinets and 1 Alto Clarinet and Bass Clarinet. So I wanted to add a new clarinet to the section. Is Eb Soprano (Sopranino?) Clarinet important to the clarinet section, if not, to the whole band?
I'm kind of on a budget so I can't buy anything very fancy and/or new. So I'm thinking of purchasing a used Bundy Clarinet.
I think it would be a pretty good clarinet, considering it's a Bundy. What do you think? Should I consider buying an item like that?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~EDIT~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, I don't want to switch to Bb Clarinet because we already have so many, and I'm a pretty important member of the Alto Saxophones... So since I'm an important member, I'd have to give a good reason to my Band Director/Teacher to switch instruments. So I thought about Eb Soprano (Sopranino?) Clarinet because they are somewhat important, because they are like piccolos in the clarinet section. Like I said before they're kind of important. Even though my band didn't ever have one sweatdrop . So that's another reason why I want to switch to that instrument.
