Mawi Mai panted slightly as she headed back home. She felt like it was too hot out today. Even though the sun was setting... it was still unbearably hot. However! It was starting to cool off finally, and she was finally heading home to her cubs. She had a feeling no one would be there first. She was hoping that could sit back and relax for a bit, lay down and take a small nap before she got up and possibly went for a hunt for her small family. Her cubs were eating so much more now that they were slowly growing.
She took a small detour making sure to grab her drum and her shakers, carefully slipping them back on, along with a flower that her mate always found a clone to every time the last one died.
She looked at the den, her den the one that sat up on top near Kitambi's. She always remembered growing up in that den, her and her sister and her mother for the longest time. But now, her mother had moved into an other den and so did her sister, and her and Aapep and her own children took it over. She had finally got the rank she had strived to get. However when she stepped for into that den she was a mother.
And it was time for her to be a mother.

The days went by without so much as something exciting...or that's what it felt like to Kartik. He still didn't understand why he didn't see his grandma any longer. His dad had told him that she was in a better place. A place where she wasn't in pain any longer. But he didn't understand. She didn't look like she was in pain when he played with her. It didn't dawn on him that there were a lot of things about his grandma that he didn't know.
The sounds of paws caught his attention as his ears perked up, curious as to who it belonged to. It didn't take him long to catch sight of his mother as he watched her come over.

Mawi Mai walked up to the small cub that she spotted with a wide grin on her face. She flicked her tail behind her her shaker clattering as she did before she grinned widely. the sight of her cubs always made her day so much better no matter what was going on. She quickly moved to her cub before licking the side of his face the same grin on her face before she nudged him with a smile on her face. "Hey little one." She purred quietly before pulling him closer to her. "What have you been up to today?" She chuckled slightly as she asked the same smile still on her face.

A soft purr escaped from his as Kartik looked up at his mom, full of adoration. He loved his family very much. At her question his ears lowered slightly, "I was looking for grandma. When I asked Daddy where she was, he looked all sad. Why is that?" He was still young and didn't fully grasp the concept that his grandma has passed on and was watching over all of them.
"I wanted to play today with her."

Mawi Mai looked down at the young cub, leaning over and licking the top of his head before smiling slightly but then his question caught her off guard she knew it was all fresh to Aapep, his mother dying and they really didn't have a chance to tell the cubs yet. She looked up for a moment as sat back on her haunches closing her eyes for a moment and letting out a small sigh. "Awh, Kartik..." Her voice trailed before she shook her head. "You're not going to be able to play with grandma... She... Went to a more peaceful place."
It was hard describing all of this to a cub, that was for sure. "Your grandma passed on. She is watching all of us now. She's right here." She leaned over and poked where the cub's heart would be. "And here." She poked her own chest. "For now she is in all of our hearts. The best thing that you can do is to celebrate her memory, and keep all of your memories with her close in your heart."
