And the battlefield is...
Water field
Five large platforms float on the surface of the deep pool, four forming a diamond formation around the single platform in the center. While land pokemon can move around on this field, it was mainly built for water-types. Rules prevent the freezing of the water.
This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to WATER type attacks.This field also reduces damage from FIRE type attacks by 25 HP

Raina entered the stadium with her pokeball clasped in her hand. It was time for Ayirwen to get back in shape and Raina had finally managed to find a few takers for a battle. As she stepped up to her podium and hit the button that would randomly choose the battlefield she looked across to the other side waiting for her opponent to appear.
After a few moments the randomizer stopped on the water field and Raina grinned. "Perfect!" she exclaimed and threw her pokeball. "Let's go Ayirwen! Show 'em what you're made of!" she called and was answered by a call of Dewgoooong!. They were ready, now where was their opponent?

Sienna made her way to her trainer box, stepping on it with a happy hop and waving to her oponent...Oh bugger, it was the water field. Frey was going to throw a fit. It's not like it was her fault the fields weren't always in their favor. Oh well, it was battle and they would do their best whatever field it was!
"Here we go, Frey!" The bird-keeper exclaimed and tossed the safari ball onto one of the floating platforms, the ball bounced to her hand back after it had released a stream of bright red light.
The large bird's entrance made the platform wobble and tilt in the water, most of it splashing up at him. He gave a perturbed cry of "PIDGE!" before deciding to flutter into the air, safe from the water for the moment. Oh Mew, he always got the worst fields.

Raina smiled and waved at the other trainer. "Good luck!" she called and then looked down at her dewgong. "Ready Ayirwen?" she asked and when the pokemon bobbed her head up and down Raina grinned. "Alright, let's start this off with an Ice Beam!"
As the command reached her the dewgong slid off of the floating platform into the water, becoming invisible for a time before popping her head up and unleashing a light blue beam from her horn aimed directly at the bird that was hovering above her.

Frey was too busy muttering to himself about the stupid water and it's stupid wetness weighing his feathers down...when he was studdenly struck with the Ice Beam. "Guh!" He plummeted to the platform below him, most of his feathers frozen solid from the icey attack. He got most of the shards off with his beak, but boy did that HURT.
Sienna grimaced, such a powerful hit and they had barely even started! "Alright Frey, counter with Feather Dance!" She commanded.
The platform wobbled unsteadily as Frey got to his feet, and then flew into the air. He circled high above the water, soft downy feathers raining upon the field. They rippled and sailed on the water, but most were headed down to smother his opponent, knocking down her attack power.

Raina watched with anxious excitement as the bird pokemon plummetted down to the floating platform. That was an awesome way to start off a battle. As feathers floated down all over the field Raina shook her head, there went their attack stat. Oh well, they were still off to a good start.
As Ayirwen waited for another command she ducked underneath the water and swam off to avoid the feathers that were obscurring her view. When she popped back up she heard Raina call out "Ayirwen, use Ice Shard!". Soon Ayirwen had taken aim and lauched a huge shard of ice at the flying pokemon above her.

Frey lost altitude fast after that last hit, which seemed just as bad as the first even with his opponent's attack lowered. This was going to be tough. His feathers were weighed down with sharp icicles again. Luckily instead of plummeting into the water, he was about to glide his way down. The pidgeot was halfway down from the height he was at before.
"Alright Frey, use Heat Wave and melt away all that ice!" Sienna commanded. After two hits like that they really needed to come up with a better plan than this. But they had no type advantages, and there weren't any moves that Dewgongs knew that would be particularly effective against themselves either... At least they had knocked down some of their attack strength.
Frey dove down and then swooped low over the water. When he stopped the shadow of the Dewgong, he hovered and beat his wings furiously over the water. It heated and boiled at the surface, but would it effect the pokemon below?

Raina was getting very excited now, this seemed like a one way battle, all she had to do was finish and there was no question about who would win. She couldn't see Ayirwen beneath the water but she was sure that it had to be cooler beneath the surface than the boiling water on top and for that she was thankful. Too bad Ayirwen wouldn't be able to hear her under the water. She just hoped that her dewgong would know what to do. This wouldn't be the first time Raina had let her pokemon make up their own minds in battle.
As the water got hotter and hotter Ayirwen swam deeper until she was resting at the bottom of the tank. She couldn't hear Raina down here and hoped that she realized that and wouldn't be upset that she didn't listen to her commands. Thinking quickly the dewgong made a beeline for the surface of the water, cringing at how hot it was the closer she got to the surface and when she was finally free from the liquid she unleashed a powerful blizzard attack hoping to cool everything back down and maybe even knock that bird out of the sky.

Frey stopped his Heat Wave momentarily, noticing the Dewgong was definitely at the bottom of the water now and very safe from the boiling water for the moment. He hovered over the spot, waiting for another command. As soon as he saw the shadow below speeding towards him he skimmed across the water, as fast as possible and as far away as he could, successfully avoiding the burst of snowflakes as the Dewgong burst from the water.
"Up and over, Frey! Use Toxic!" Sienna shouted, telling her pidgeot to bank upwards, twist in the air and then finally use Toxic when he was over the Dewgong. Toxic wasn't her favorite move to use, but after that last mistake with the Fire type attack, poisoning their opponent could help a little bit.
Yuck, Toxic. Frey grimaced, it was his least favorite attack. It had a nasty aftertaste. Nonetheless, he swiftly turned upwards, the powerful tailwind from his turn making a small wave on the water now below him. The bird twisted gracefully in the air, and then zipped a little lower over the Dewgong to deliver the Toxin attack. Purple goo spewed from his mouth. 'Yuck.' The pidgeot thought.

((Going for poison this time. That last attack only did 75 damage btw, I just noticed that Fire attacks are lowered by 25 'cause of the field DX ))

Raina watched as Ayirwen's attack missed her target completely and sighed, oh well, you can't be lucky all the time but... it was kind of embarrassing. As the bird retaliated Raina called out "Dive down and dodge it!". Ayirwen, who was in the water anyway, readily agreed and managed to miss the attack completely, coming up on the other side of the arena, far away from the toxic goo.
"Now use Ice Beam one more time!" Raina called, hoping they could knock the bird out of the sky so they could get in some other attacks.
Ayirwen bobbed her head, took aim and unleashed another blue beam from her horn.

"Dodge as well use Toxic again!" Sienna commanded quickly. They had one solid hit so far, but they couldn't rely on that for very long with all the hits Frey had taken already.
The pidgeot dodged as soon as he could, but the beam skimmed his wing and froze several feathers, weighing him down again. He preened himself as well as he could while he was still in the air, chunks of ice and dusty snow fell with plops to the water below. Ready to fly again, he dove into a stoop, flying low over the water only to spew more Toxic, then zipping back up as high as he could. He was definitely more vulnerable near the water than away. Now all he could hope for was that there was enough sludge in the water from both attacks to do *some* damage. The bird was breathing heavily now, obviously worn out from the last attack by the dewgong.

As another stream of toxic gunk landed in the water Raina grimaced, "Yuck, there's no way I'd swim in that.." she muttered to herself and then watched as Ayirwen leapt into the air to get away from the nasty goo. She had a light purple coating though and she desperately tried to shake it off as she landed on one of the floating platforms.
"Aurora beam, now, take that bird out of the sky!" Raina called after Ayirwen had managed to get most of the goo off of her body. As Ayirwen heard the command she turned, huffed at the bird and unleashed a bright rainbow beam from her horn directed straight at the flying pidgeot.

Frey flew swiftly to one side, successfully dodging the Ice Beam. He then caught a random thermal upward, waiting for the next command.
"Hm..Let me see..."
Frey sqwuaked angerly at his trainer, "C'mon, pick a move already!!"
"Geez Frey, chill...Steel Wing!" Sienna called out after some thought.
Frey rolled his eyes. Finally. As if they weren't already wasting enough time already. The pidgeot dove down at his opponent, wings glowing silver and as hard as steel.

Ayirwen slapped the platform angrily with her tail as her attack missed which set it to rocking making it even more unstable than it was before. As the platform came back down she saw the bird coming but she had no where to go to avoid the attack so she settled for curling in on herself which made her as small a target as possible but she couldn't help the cry of pain she released when the attack hit.
"Use Aurora Beam again!" Raina called to Ayirwen as she worked on recovering from the attack. The scratches from the steel wings were bleeding and it worried the trainer but she knew she couldn't go out there yet.
After she recovered Ayirwen turned around and unleashed another aurora beam at the bird. This time focusing carefully to make sure she didn't miss.
