The sun was high up in the noon sky already by the time Pilate dragged her self out of her den. Usually she shared with her sister Val, but, it seemed tonight Val must of been off on her own. Pilate wasn't to worried though. Some times the cheetah would stay out for days on end exploring. Val was allowed to have her own little nights out too she supposed.
Pilate cat stretched and kneaded her paws into the ground. She still couldn't believe she had slept in THAT late. Hopefully the cheetah would be able to find something worth eating. Usually morning was the best time to hunt but maybe she could find something worth her while.
Still, Pilate had her doubts as she set off into the grassy savannas. Her slender body snaked through the grass like a pro. Pilate had a lot of practice in the plains. She'd taken care of her self in her early years and it paid off to know how to move with the flow of the grass.
Her paws moved in a graceful dance of a flow. Pilate was an expert.
A squawk set her low on her belly. A small flock of birds were picking the ground for insects... possibly a good meal. Pilate stayed flat to the ground and watched the birds pondering her next move.

Life wasn't that far away from her.
A lanky body pulled it's self out from a hole. Yep a hole. The male was a teen, a different kind of male, and yes he was coming out of a hole. Why? Well You can say for starters it was a great place to take a nap. He started to dig it when he was younger, and now it was just a place for him to hang out when he was bored or wanted to take a nap. Mostly when he wanted to get away from his family for a bit. But right now to him it was too cloudy to go out for a run. He wouldn't want to get out there then have it pour on him. He really wasn't in the mood for waiting for his fur to dry. He figured if he stayed in one place or near it he could stay dry if it did rain.
He sighed softly moving forward and crawling out of his hole. Shaking off some of the dirt. It was too hot, way to hot. Otherwise he would have stayed in the den. He grunted slightly as he flicked his tail around behind him, before lifting his back leg to scratch behind his ear. He looked around as he sat back on his haunches. There had to be something for him to do Anything. Other than sleep that is...

Pilate crept closer and closer to the flock of birds. Her concentration never faulted. Yup this cheetah was a pro.
The fact that a lion wasn't to far off close by hadn't even broken her concentration. In fact, she had yet to notice the dark figure of a lion that had emerged from a hole.
Nope, her mind was on one thing, brunch. That's when Pilate kicked off out of the grass making her move towards the flock. The cheetah jumped up into the now fleeing flock and managed to get a mouth full of something. Perfect..
...Wait...
To the shock of the radio active female, she'd missed the birds where it counted and now had a mouth full of tail feathers. Bleh! The female spit and sputtered the dreadful feathery things hoping no one witnessed her failure. That was down right aweful, bleh!
... Turning her head she then noticed the dark lion. Her ears dropped a bit in sheer disbelief. Had he watched her attempt ?
Feathers still hung from the cheetah's mouth in a chaotic fashion.

Rahvu wasn't really paying that much attention to what was around him for a bit there. to him there wasn't that many exciting things around. So it took a bit before he barely noticed something bright green out of the corner of his eye. Sure he had seen green lions around before but! He hadn't seen anyone that brightly colored. He had a feeling it had to be another feline.
He was about to say something until he noticed the flock of birds. That made sense, who ever it was they had to have been hunting! He watched and decided to keep his mouth shut. So he was going to wait before he wandered over and tried to make friends with who ever it was. He watched slightly amused wondering what would happen...
The hunt seemed to go fast, and he saw as the... Cheetah? Missed and ended up getting feathers. He tried to hold back laugher, trying to be polite. As she noticed him he got up and started to wander over to her. "Hello there." He said sweetly with a grin on his face.

Pilate took a step back with out really thinking. She wasn't afraid of lions having grown up the majority of her life around them, but she was ashamed of her failure. The fact that feathers still clung to her chin was not on her mind. All she could do was watch as the male approached.
It took her a second to realize he was saying hello. Pilate blinked, and then grinned. The feathers clinging around her chin made her look slightly silly.
"H-hello~" She tried her best to sound cheerful and friendly. The cheetah blinked again and swallowed the question, 'how long have you been watching?'.
Right now Pilate just wanted to hide under a rock. Pilate was so embarrassed. Ah well. This stranger didn't seem humored that she had failed, epically, at such an easy prey.
Her tail twitched a tad.

Rahvu looked at the female, he could just really feel the embarrassment in the air. He was a little embarrassed that he saw it, actually. But he didn't want her to feel bad! He didn't like it when others felt bad. He gave her a small smile before flicking his hair out of his eyes. "Hi!" He chuckled slightly before nodding toward her. "I've had the same thing happen to me before." He admitted, it was very true. Then again he wasn't always the best hunter some times.
He then chuckled and gave her a small bow. "My name is Rahvu. If you don't mind me asking what is your name?" He arched a brow as he looked her over with his eyes. She had to be a cheetah. He had seen a few of them before but he really never had a chance to get close to one and talk. No matter how strange that sounded he wasn't much of a social lion at times. Then again he had that hole 'stranger danger' thing going for him when he was younger. Then again what cub didn't? Many adults would tell their cubs 'don't talk to strangers' he got that a lot.

Pilate tilted her head at the other and smiled. It was an embarrassing thing to admit on his part but Pilate only thought more of him for admitting to that. Her guard quickly dropped. Usually she was pretty friendly and warm her self. The sheer shock had made her a little on the awkward side.
That seemed to be melting away by each passing second. This lion seemed easy going and Pilate was pretty okay with that.
"Pilate, its nice to meet you too Rahvu, " She took a step closer to him, a little in his personal space. She eyed him from paw back up to ear tips.
"Wow," Pilate grinned, "Youre really something huh? I bet you're really strong and fast." The cheetah took a seat in front of the lion and stared for a moment.
... She was an odd one that Pilate.
"You want to maybe fail with me?" The cheetah tilted her head.

Rahvu smiled softly as he could already feel the air settle between them it made him feel a little better himself. He smiled sfotly as he flopped down on his haunches in a sloppy manner before nodding toward her. "Its nice to meet you too." His voice was getting deep or so he just noticed, it was proof of him growing up even more. He could swear last time he remembered he was a little thing. Oh and his parents always talked how him and his siblings grew up that fast.
He blinked as the female got closer to him. He looked at her with a blink a few times before he shrugged. "I wouldn't say I'm the strongest, I'm a little to skinny for that." He chuckled slightly before shrugging. "I can be fast some times."
At her next comment he grinned widely. He really didn't care about how close she was he was really never one to care about that. "Sounds like a plan to me. HE flashed a large grin at her.

Pilate jumped back and did a little happy turn. She couldn't be more thrilled that he was willing to hunt with her. Pilate aspired to be a great hunter one day , and was well on her way, but she still had a lot of cubbish behavior to over come. Ah well, the cheetah was a mess and she didn't care.
Grinning like a mad woman Pilate took another step forward, "Alright then. We should probably get to finding something we can bring down then. Follow me," And off the slender cheetah girl marched.
... Yes, Pilate had a lot of behaviors she need to probably grow out of.
Normally the cheetah wasn't this playful, but excitement had gotten the better of her judgement.

Rahvu was a little caught off guard at the females happiness. He really haven't ran into that many others that were that excited about anything lately, at least at their age not that many. But it put him in a good mood. It made him want to dance around with her. He wasn't always the most energetic and moving kind of lion so when he had the chance to act like a kid at times he liked to take up the chance and do it.
He grinned slightly before he nodded toward where she was leading them. "Aright." he keep up a quick trot behind her looking around as they did wanting to make sure he could find his way back. "Have an idea of what we are looking for?" He asked nipping at her tail to make sure he got her attention.

Pilate smiled back at the other and simply shook her head.
"Nope, I'm just following the way the winds blowing. Surely they'll take us to something bird like... maybe something bigger if we're lucky." She grinned at the other and continued snaking her way through the tall grass.
Really, Pilate was just glad for the company. She hadn't been expecting any but now that she had a companion on a hunt with her she was content even if they didn't find anything.
The feathers were finally noticed by the neon cheetah. She gasped and swatted them off. Rahvu hadn't said anything about them.. maybe he didn't notice? Pilate felt her ears lower a little in shame as she continued snaking her way through the grass.

Rahvu looked at the cheetah before laughing slightly then nodded. "Well, that does sound like a plan." He laughed softly before nipping at her tail. "I think we can catch and find something bigger than a bird though. He was pretty sure that they could anyway. He sniffed at the air himself before chuckling slightly. He was hoping they caught a bigger one, that would be very nice.
He noticed as she pulled the feathers off of herself. He felt a little bad then... He looked down at his paw before laughing a bit but it was at himself. "I'm sorry I forgot to tell you." He coughed slightly then looked around. He swore he could have heard something, smelt something.
"I think... I smell something." He chuffed toward her before slowing down. His longer legs lifting up for a moment before coming to a stop. "I think they aren't that far off, what ever it is." He nodded toward her.

Pilate felt her face turn a shade of pink. So he had noticed. She chuckled a bit, at least he hadn't made fun of her for the feathers that had been on her face. Ah well. "Nah don't worry about it." Pilate swatted a paw to let him know she was fine.
"Mmm?" Pilate watched him for a moment as he headed another direction before joining him. She wasn't sure what he was picking up but the cheetah trusted his judgment.
Pilates lengthy body worked about the grass like a pro. Her pink eyes scanned the area up a head, but she still wasn't picking up what ever Rahvu was picking up. What could be this way?

Rahvu looked down at his paws anyway before letting out a slightly nervous laughing before looking at her. "Well... It still kinda mean that I didn't tell you." He chuckled slightly again then licked his lips and flicked his hair out of his eyes, his tail twitching behind him.
He watched her before nipping at her. "This way I think." He chuffed quietly before turning around heading toward another direction from where she was going to. He was more than sure that he was smelling something.

Pilate tilted her head and smiled at the other watching as he flicked hair away from his eyes. She hadn't thought it to be mean before but she wasn't gonna argue.
Pilate jumped a little at the tail nipping and turned her attention to what Rahvu's direction. The cheetah sniffed again.
"Hmmm," She followed after the lion not asking questions. Something was in the air she hadn't picked up on before. But what?
