The day was chirpy and weather fair. At times like these Aeolus would be hiding way at his favorite spot; the top of a short cliff that overlooked the beach and ocean. Accommodations were a large and shady tree that was only a few yards from the edge, along with a good view of the teepee he inhabited at the sandy bottom. Facing the western horizon it was perfect for watching sunsets, and often he'd invite Astraea to come watch them as well.
Today though he spent his time alone as he usually did, relaxed in the grass underneath the leafy branches.

His face seemed rather perplexed, though the "over what" was probably nothing. Often he just had a permanent scowl glued to his face- now was no exception. Being rather fond of the peace and quiet he was rather elated at the moment despite his expression - hopefully no one would come about to disturb him (but with his bad luck the chances were extremely slim).

User ImageToday was great! The weather was perfect, bright and sunny. The perfect display of the glory of summer. Theia was currently gallopping in the midst of waves. It was refreshing feeling the waves crash against her flank: a perfect antidote to the burning heat of summer, not that she really cared the slightest. (Her body seemed to care less about the temperature than anything else or it might just have been her personality which caused her to be rather unaware to anything that was irrelevant to her.) After quite awhile of splashing about and chasing after poor little terrified fish, she got a bit bored...

The sun was beating hard on her by now and the sun was straight above. The mare returned to the sandy beach and shook the water off of her and looked around for something interesting. Hmmm...water, more water...a crab but a crab was boring, sand, more sand, cliff, blue spot, tree, water...wait wait, blue spot??!! She turned her head back towards where she had thought she had saw a blue spot. It was still there. She squinted her green eyes...it was a blue soquili!!! A friend! Awesome. She immediately started gallopping towards the direction of the blue soquili, but noticing that the blue spot was on a cliff, she changed direction towards where the cliff started so that she approached from behind the stranger.

Soon enough, she had arrived. Is it possible for a soquili to pounce? If so, this was exactly what Theia did just then or at least similar and at the same time, shouting happily,"HEY THERE!!! WHATSSUP???"

Aeolus watched as another soquili played about in the water, not very intrigued on their identity. As his attention moved back towards the sky he focused on identifying the clouds; it would seem that they had fair weather now (if that wasn't obvious enough) and would be having fair weather for the rest of the day- so he presumed. Aeolus wasn't exactly into meteorology. Sighing he remembered a nightmare he had not long ago and as he had been doing so the last few months he kept on his toes. A summer day, he had to beware a summer day... The dream was vague though, what would he have to avoid that wasn't obvious besides foxes and volcanoes?

Eyes shifting back to the sea he noticed that the soquili had disappeared. Shrugging he leaned his head back a little against the trunk of the tree, before suddenly being pounced. Grunting at the sudden weight he quickly squeezed out from under the mare, sending her glares as he got back onto all four hooves. He opened mouth to chastise her and ask why the hell she glomped him but after a moment he closed it again. Don't do it, Aeolus. Sending one last glare he narrowed his eyes and turned away, first walking that eventually turned to a trotting. Ignore her, Aeolus, fools will be fools and it be best not to mix yourself with them...

Theia blinked and tilted her head as she peered down and then across at the navy blue soquili who was looking clearly disgruntled. He looked vaguely...familiar. Must have been an old friend, but what was his name? She couldn't seem to remember, but of course this could be a complete stranger in front of her for she had just arrived in these new lands a few months ago and she had not had many encounters with any others of her kind. But this soquili seemed to be different from any she had met before as if he had come out of one of her dreams...She shook her curls and focused back to the present. It was not often that Theia's mind wandered off to some insightful topic such as this, but the time was short-lived for she had remembered that there was in fact a soquili in front of her.

"HEY!!! Are you okay? I might have pounced too hard, but if so, I'm very sorry. But it looks like you're okay." She looked him up and down. Yes, he did look okay. His head was there and the limbs were intact so everything was a-okay, wasn't it? "That's good. Mhm. Were you surprised? I absolutely love making surprise entrances, it makes life all the more dramatic. Isn't that great? Dramatic. It's such a cool word...Anyways, I'm Theia." She smiled brightly and did a little hop before asking,"So what's your name?" She paused and looked the soquili over again. He had gold and silver butterfly markings.

"Can I call you Mariposa? I heard that that was what butterfly is some foreign language. But that wouldn't be very creative would it? It is always best to stick with something original like...Gold Butterfly that Flies over Hill and Fallen Snow. That sounds cool, doesn't it? Can I call you that? Gold Butterfly that Flies over Hill and Fallen Snow! It could be GBtFoHaFS for short! Or it could be Butter Snow? How about that? How about that? Can I call you that? Please...pretty please?"

...Gold Butterfly that Flies over Hill and Fallen Snow? ...GBtFoHaFS? ...Butter Snow? Seriously? No way. Never. Not in a million years. Not if they were the last living things standing.

Aeolus flicked his tail, irritated, "no; you can not call me any of your pathetic nicknames. I only go by my name which is Aeolus." He moved away a little faster, having a bad feeling lurking... like somewhere inside of him another self was screaming at him to run for his life. A feeling where... he's met her before. Impossible. I never forget faces and I definitely do not recognize her at all. But he was quite sure... he recognized her voice. Could it be... the one in the dream he had? He hadn't heard the voice speak, only giggle... If I can just hear her make an annoying little giggle perhaps I'll be able to match it up- then I'll know for sure that I must get as far away from this girl as possible. Looking at her from the corner of his eye he kind of already had enough reinforcements on the persuasion of him to get away... but now he was curious.

Stopping he turned towards her. "So... Theia." He thought of what he could possibly say, "where do you... come from?" The chambers of evil? The darkest corners of the earth? A happy sugar-coated land of rainbow unicorns? He backed away a little, as if he feared catching a cold that she had that would make him be more like her... "hyper" and "happy".

"Ah-ee-orse?" Theia prounced slowly. What a strange name. It was much more difficult to say than 'Gold Butterfly that Flies over Hill and Fallen Snow.' Yes indeed. Ah-ee-orse? Aheeorse? A horse!!! Yes, yes, no wonder. Ah-ee-orse was just 'A horse' and that meant well...that the stallion was a horse. Mhm. A simple rather unoriginal ununique name,"But 'A horse' is such an unoriginal name, don't you think? I think that 'Gold Butterfly that Flies over Hill and Fallen Snow" sounds much better. GBtFoHaFS shows more artistic talent. Mhm. Don't you think?" She can a stout little nod before being suddenly aware that A-horse had asked her a question.

"Eh? Me? Where did I come from?" Theia blinked. Why did he suddenly ask her that? What a boring question and just about time the mare gave it a boring answer, she suddenly had a bright idea. Why not make the answer interesting? Like a riddle! Mhm. That would be cool. (But of course she had no idea that her idea of riddle-y talk was nothing more than a jumble of nonsense...that was Theia.) She opened her mouth and replies,"Me? I'm from the castle in the sky where bright pink ponies serenade the sunrise and herard the marshmallows of the world. I'm from the place where there is no time but plenty of lime. Where bunnies hop on their heads and where animals talk. Where there is no darkness but darkness everywhere when the suns shine down. Where nobody but the bravest of soul dwell. That's where I'm from."

She nodded to herself impressively. Wasn't that such an interesting answer to such a boring question? Mhm.

"No, you-" he stopped himself from calling her a fool, "not 'a horse' it's Aeolus. ˈE-o-los.'" How did she get 'a horse' from Aeolus? "And no, 'Gold Butterfly that Flies over Hill and Fallen Snow' sounds horribly stupid, you-" he stopped himself from calling her a nit-wit. He was about to explain what his name meant but shook his head; no, she'll just start blabbering about that too. He started to wince at her answer, resisting to tell her to just go back to that place and never leave again.

"...Right," he quirked an eyebrow once she finished. This mare was a freak. That was all there was to it. Cut identifying her, he'd leave now. Turning away again he quickly began to trot away, thinking of any ways he could lose her if she tried to follow him. Or better yet just tell her off. "Don't try and follow me," and in a mumble he added, "village idiot." And if all else fails... Though he'd hate to do it, I'll just have to "get rid of her"...

“E-o-los? Eeyore los?” Theia blinked. What a strange name, Eeyore los. That was even stranger than ‘a horse’ cause that one actually made sense in its own way. And of course, it was even harder to pronounce than the last. And of course, ‘Gold Butterfly that Flies over Hill and Fallen Snow’ was definitely better than ‘Eeyore los’ or ‘A horse’ or whatever it was. She was thinking about this so intently that she almost missed the stallion’s next words. She paused a bit before she spoke. Clearly that stallion before her did not appreciate the art and simplicity of names much. Alas, there would have to be changed. “I think that ‘Gold Butterfly that Flies over Hill and Fallen Snow’ is a perfectly wonderful dramatic name.” Maybe the stallion was a little deaf in the ear so that such a long and wonderful name hadn’t been able to reach his mind clearly so that’s why he was disappointed at it. Yes, that was it. The mare gave a stout little nod. It was probably help if she repeated it louder and multiple times. That would hopefully permeate his deafness.

As Theia came back from her thoughts, she noticed with surprise that ‘Eeyore los’ has started to walk off. When she just realized that he wanted her to follow him on an adventure, he had turned around and say ‘Don’t try and follow me’ along with the strange phrase ‘village idiot.’ Theia had paused for about thirty seconds and stayed put, but then her mind had started working. Why did he say that she shouldn’t follow him? Maybe the ‘Golden Butterfly that Flies over Hill and Fallen Snow’ had discovered treasure and was off to dig it up without her? Oh yes, that must have been it. And the ‘village idiot’ must be his rival that was looking for the treasure as well. But treasure hunting was a very dangerous task and he would need all the help he would get, no? Yes, Theia would help him.

Theia immediately began trotting after the stallion’s disappearing form shouting, ”Hey! Wait up! I’m coming treasure hunting too!”

Aeolus shook his head with a sigh. This clearly was not working. Why must this mare make his life so difficult? Now he had to find a ditch for her to fall in so he may abandon her in peace. Aeolus didn't want to be cruel- but if that's what it took, that's what he'd do. He stopped and decided he'd go along with whatever the hell this mare was thinking until he found that ditch. Stopping he turned his head, "well hurry up then- that treasure isn't going to dig itself up and come to us." He tried to force a grin but failed, smiling at this kind of creature was too hard.

Turning his head back around he continued forward, grumbling to himself. He did not have the tolerance for this kind of person! If she was a filly, maybe, but not if she was a full grown mare! He expected only maturity and dignity at such an age, no less! He glanced back at her from the corner of his eyes- feeling sorry for the little butterflies that gathered around her. They may have been attracted by the flowers she adorned, but this girl was pure poison!

Theia nodded happily as she bounced happily at the ball of her...hooves? How exciting! She had been very correct, they were going treasure hunting! And the Eeyore los or otherwise known as the Golden Butterfly that Flies over Hill and Fallen Snow knew where it was! That was awesome! To think that she, Theia, would very soon be uncovering a chest of bright jewels long lost, the mare's heart fluttered.

She continued to follow the strange stallion with her long curls bouncing at her side. She sped up a bit to walk, well bounce, next to the Eeyore los. "So where are we going? Where?" She paused for a splite second to think a bit before saying,"The beach?" That was probably where the treasure was because that was the location for treasure in all the pirate-y stories of course. But the again, it might be in some more interesting location like a dark mysterious cave? In the shallows in the middle of a couple whirlpools? A volcano?

Wait, where had she gotten the volcano? She frowned a bit. The word seemed to be vaguely familiar to her and it aroused excitement in her. But being not as obilvious as she might have appeared, she knew perfectly where that they were and probably not any volcanoes near where they were currently. So where had she gotten that idea?

"Yes, the beac-" He paused, remembering his nightmare. What was it again? He was on a beach... there was an annoying giggling... and... lava? He shook off the deja vu. "Yes, the beach," he finished. He was a little nervous now, but continued forward down a slope (away from his home of course).

Aeolus felt the grass beneath his hooves turn to a rocky dirt trail before finally a silky fine white sand. The warmth of sand was always such a pleasant and soothing feeling, he almost forgot that Theia was there. He coughed, trying to put on a somewhat-positive tone, "the treasure if very close, it's right over there near the waves actually I hear." Yes, the sand was very soft here but concrete-hard near the water. "Let's go."

With head forward he jogged over to a random spot, thinking up his next moves as if it were a chess game. Forget the ditch, I have an even better idea... "This is the spot," he announced. Brushing away the many shells he tried to dig with his hooves. He only scratched the surface of the sand though. "No good... I have an idea though! You stay here and continue trying to dig, while I go look for help, alright? But you have to stay and dig, otherwise the spot will be gone and we'll have to wait a hole day for it to come back, and the whole situation might repeat itself." Yes, it was low tide now- but if she really was as dumb as he thought she was, she'd stay even when it became high tide (which she could drown in with the huge difference between high tide and low tide they had here.). Perfect plan, get rid of her for good! It wasn't murder, it'd be her own fault for not leaving the spot (if she really did stay).

"Beach, beach, beach, here I come~" She hummed happily as she followed the Golden Butterfly that Flies over Hill and Fallen Snow, wow that was a mouthful, perhaps she should just call him Eeyore los or GBtFoHaFS now. Yes, but anyways, her ears stood erect as she heard him say that the treasure was very close.

Yes, she could feel her blood boiling up instead of her and her adreneline, already it it's peak, overflowing. Yes, she was right! Well of course she was, she was Theia after all. There was as she had rightly thought treasure in this very beach and the GBtFoHaFS had led her right to it! How fantastic! Hmmm...what could the treasure be? Cookies? Crackers? Shiny goldies? Her mind was such a whirlwind of ideas that she barely managed to retreat out of them to hear Eeyore los's next words.

"Here?" Theia looked inquisitively at it. Yes, it was definately there. Her treasure detector was going wild, that is, if she did have a treasure detector which maybe she did have not that it really mattered much anyway.

Having nodded contently at the GBtFoHaFS's wise words, Theia started to dig. Eeyore los must be a very very wise and smart person to think up such a great idea! It was perfecto, magnificento! They would be able to get the treasure in no time at all of course! Of course of course of course, but how in the world had GBtFoHaFS thought of such a wonderful ideas? These ideas don't come everyday and of course they only came to really super smart people like Elbus Tumbledore (who was of course a famous scientist), Ulbert Meinstein (who was of course a famous wizard) and of course Theia herself. And seeing as GBtFoHaFS was definately not Theia, well as she would now just presume since she wasn't even sure of that, then surely he must be some kind of super smart philosopher, scientist or...or...

"You're a wizard!!!" Forgetting completely about her previous occupation of digging up the buried treasure, Theia rushed after the distant form of Eeyore los. How could she not have noticed before? Of course he was a wizard!!! Yes, yes, yes. She raced ahead of him and cut into his path.

"You're a wizard! I knew, I knew it! Of course I won't tell anyone but but but you will help me dig up the treasure now? You can use your super magical powers to unearth it or something! No? Yes, yes, yes! I know that you couldn't use your magical powers in front of me before, but since I know that you are a wizard now, it's all good. So you'll use your magical powers, right? Right? Right? Right?" Theia grinned happily as she bounced in front of the stallion.

Aeolus's head lowered to hear the sound of her voice growing louder behind him. Was escape impossible? Sighing, he turned around and quirked an eyebrow as she called him a wizard. The incompetent fool! He curled back a lip and got ready to bark and yell at her, but restrained himself. Instead he decided to think quickly. He went along with the treasure hunt, which almost succeeded in removing her- should he just continue going along with her? It seemed like the best option.

"You got me- almost. I'm not quite a wizard though. I'm an ELEMENTAL wizard. I have the power to control the winds. So I'm afraid I can not help you unearth the treasure without dealing heavy damage to it- you would need the help of an earth wizard," he bit back his lip. What was next? "And... and I have a confession to make! I never really intended to help you dig for treasure; I was really trying to protect you! For you see, a dark wizard, uh, my nemesis, is wreaking havoc on these lands. You're a persistent one, so I planned to trick and leave you here at the safety of the shores while I go quickly defeat mine enemy." Terrible lines and acting skills but it was the best he could pull out quickly at the moment.

Aeolus bent his front knees so he appeared to be semi-kneeling. It was painful but he needed to make it dramatic. "And this is why I, Aeolus the Wind Wizard, beg of you, what's-your-face, to stay here out of harms way while I go and defeat my nemesis. I may die and never see you again... but if you come, you may die too... and that would be a shameful waste that I hope to never cross my eye." He got back up.

"So live, what's-your-face. Live to have many more magical experiences. It was great knowing you!" The moment he finished he turned-tail and fled.
PostPosted: Sat May 08, 2010 5:38 pm

Eh? Elemental wizard? Wind Wizard? Oh my. Theia stood in awe as the stallion confessed his true identity of a wizard. Well of course he was a wizard, yes yes yes, Theia was right. But a wizard of wind? Oh my! And he was going to leave her at the shore to defeat his enemy? How galliant!

Yes yes yes. She knew what she was going to do now. Treasure was nothing, well of course it was something because treasure can't be nothing so it has to be something. But it was nothing compared to saving the world! She, Theia, was going to go and asist the great wind wizard, Golden Butterfly that Flies Over Hill and Fallen Snow or otherwise known as Eeyore los, yes yes yes. She'll just have to come back treasure hunting again someother time and find that earth wizard what's his face.

Firm on her newly made decision, Theia raced after the great wizard,"WAIT UP!!!! I'm coming with you! For the light, for cookies, for narnia, we shall defeat your anemone!!! Do not fear because we will not die cause you all know that good always triumphs over evil so you don't have to worry about me. I'll help! I'll help! I'll help defeat your anemone super duber fast and send him flying off into the grand canyon!"

Aeolus hissed to himself. He wasn't sure how much longer his patience would hold out. He kept on galloping, to no place in particular. What should he do? Yell at her to get lost till she finally left? 'Accidentally' push her off a cliff? He glanced at her. Such a horrible mare to be around! Well, he had to give her some credit and admit that ignorance really must be bliss. It was probably the only thing he liked about her, if anything at all.

He looked forward again. Yeah... ignorance was good, even if annoying. He'd rather deal with a happy idiot then a know-it-all sour genius. She was well-intentioned, despite the poor outcomes.
