So Ireland serves it and Scandiniavia doesn't? .........?
AND, they spoke more about the viking in Ireland than in Scandinavia. ..................?
(Enjoying my trip, LOADS of CD's, at least 2-3 more CD stops before I'm done, so I'll report back when I'm.....back)

Well, Ireland was pretty much discovered by the Norse....so its really not that surprising.
I'm so jealous of you though, I'd love to go to Ireland, I'd just love to travel anywhere, but neither I, nor my family has enough money to do so.

Alcoholic beverages made of fermented honey can be found in cultures all over Europe and Asia. Scandinavia just gets undue credit. razz

Digi: ever tried bigos? Now THAT is what you would love. And it may come with a bit of wine inside too.
As for the meads - I really mean it. Polish meads are very good. If you ever get to stumble upon some, search for those called Półtorak or Dwójniak - these have the most honey inside them, hence are sweater and stronger.
