those moments where you don't really realize that you've done something really stupid and don't notice until it's too late to do anything about it. and that it just gets worse from there. but it's either one of those "not funny then, funny now" moments or one of those moments where you're laughing the entire time.
just had one of those. my brother and i drive to our parents' office to mow the lawn, trim some stuff, and sweep up the mulberries that dye the parking lot/driveway every year. we get out, my brother puts his wallet and keys in the glove compartment (because they'd be a hindrance otherwise), and then we haul out the mower. a minute or two later, i pause in my trimming of the excess grass (the stuff the lawnmower can't reach), then go find my brother. the following conversation ensued:
Me: where'd you put your keys? Brother:......*points to car* Me: stare you locked the car. Brother:.........really? you sure? Me: *goes to check the doors* *doors don't open* stare Brother: huh. where's the key to the office? Me: in the car. Brother:....huh. oops.
so once i was done sweeping and trimming, i walked over to my grandma's house (who luckily lives within a 5 minute walking distance of the office) and borrowed the phone to call my mom. i feel like a total dolt for not realizing my brother's stupidity sooner, but it was (still is) funny. and i got the last two of grandma's homemade oatmeal cookies xp so it's'all good. my mom came by a few minutes later and unlocked the car for us.
ever had one of these moments?

As soon as I get my car (and drivers license for that matter) you guys won't be able to count the number of times I lock myself out of my car... watch... DX That sounds so much like something I would do....

I had one of those the other day, with keys as well. haha I grabbed the car keys and left the house key right on the counter.. I mean I looked at it and was like "I'm not going to lock the door so I'll just leave them" and then locked the door.. took me about 5 seconds to go DAMN! *kicks self* haha

come to think of it, there was one day where i came home from school to find my brother waiting on the porch. apparently he forgot his key. again, the following conversation ensued:
Me: *laughing at him* *looks through the window in the door* they're even sitting there on the stairs mocking you! Brother: *glares* Me: *still giggling* *starts searching through backpack for key*......? *checks another pocket* Brother:.....*looks through window* guess we're both being mocked. Me: *looks* *sees own key sitting on a different step*........
ended up running to a nearby payphone so we could call to get into the house XD my brother and i are such morons when it comes to keys.

You need to hide a key on the outside of your house somewhere >< *pats shoulder*
I thought I lost the appartment key to the last place toboe and I lived, and wouldn't you know it when Toboe looses his car keys and he asks me to check my car, guess what I found? And after I looked that car over 20 mill times! scream gonk
Toboe did find his keys though, at the bottom of the laundry basket. *sighs*

used to hide a key outside the house. kinda gave up for some reason i can't remember. but i haven't forgotten my key in a long time because during pretty much the whole school year this year i was locking up the house.
how is it that keys are so easy to lose and so hard to find? or at least so easy to forget about until you need them again? or sometimes you just gotta wonder...why do we fail spot checks so often in life?
