She thinks they were getting near the jungle. The terrain seemed to have changed from when she had first met her now traveling partner. “Think we’re close?” The female had asked, wanting to get the other’s opinion. The had been traveling together for a few days now, each passing moment learning something new about each other.

“Do you think you will be going home after we find this plant?” Citka asked, glancing at the male with a small smile.

Majivu walked in silence beside his earthy colored companion as he thought about things. He kept up the conversations they had easily with simple, yet detailed answers, and questions of his own. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy her company or the chatter he just felt a little confused about many a things, things he wasn't quite sure of at the current moment. "Huh?" He mumbled jerking his head up to look out at his surroundings. He squinted taking a good look at the area before nodding, "Yes, we're very close actually." He paused to smile softly. "Won't be too much longer." He had lost the solid formality of his speech, it lingered but wasn't completely there. It simply meant that he was getting more comfortable with the female. It was a good thing. "No, I don't think so. I'll escort you back to your homelands before heading to the ocean, I've heard that I have family there and I might be able to find the god of water there."

At his words, Citka smiled. “Good! I can’t wait!” she paused for a moment, realizing that her words could have been taken the wrong way. She quickly tried to fix her mistake, “not that I don’t like traveling with you or anything. I mean, once we get there we can rest for a bit and….and… I’m just gonna be quiet now.” Citka looked away, thoroughly embarrassed. She gazed towards the sky for a moment, her ears flicking at his next words.

“The ocean?” She had heard a lot of about the big waters when she was growing up. Maybe on her next quest that her father gave her would be to gather plants from the said waters. Hmm…she wondered if there were plants there held some kind of healing abilities as a few others located around the savannah.

“How come you have to see the God of Water?” Citka knew about deities. Even though the Kusini lands worshipped the Harvest God, the pride held an open mind about the other gods that there might be. The lone twin had never met anyone of such status though, she wouldn’t know what to do if she was to come across one.

He arched a brow at her as though he was just the slightest bit offended by her sentence but it was ruined by the chuckle that escaped his maw. "No, no it's fine Citka," he told her smiling rather brightly. "You don't have to be quiet, I understood what you meant." He told her with a small shake of the head. "You know you're quite the silly character right?"

His mother might have scolded him for using such a term but he didn't care, she wasn't here right then. Besides, she didn't have to know right? "Yeah, that's what my aunt told my mother the night before she disappeared, unfortunately so many things came up for my mother that she never got the chance to find my aunt herself." He explained.

"Well my siblings and I have grown up with the idea that..." He sighed unsure of how to explain the situation exactly. "That we were blessed by the four basic elements, so to speak. Each of us have a marking that helps to reinforce said belief," With that he paused and gestured to the leaf-like marking decorating his shoulder. "See?"

Her ears drooped a little more as the male’s look, but was quickly cured as a chuckled arose from his maw. “Oh, thank goodness!” She honestly thought she had said something wrong, and then he would just walk away. Even though they had just met, she liked her new friend! It would be a sad time to say goodbye when they would arrive back in the Kusini lands. Maybe though, it wouldn’t be a goodbye--- just a see you later so that would make a time in the future they would get to see each other again.

“I hope you find your aunt there then,” she continued to smile.

“Hmm…” Citka’s blue and gold eyes locked onto the marking on Maji’s shoulder. “So…you are going to see the water god to see if it’s true? Or to get a blessing…?” She was slightly confused at the reason for actually going.

"I hope so as well," he replied thinking of his aunt. He had never met any of his family members before, well with the exception of his immediate family. He only knew what she looked like through tales from his mother. White with green upside down triangles under her red eyes. he hoped that she would be easy to find. If only he knew just how much family he had in that one little pride started by his aunt. "My mother won't admit it, but I think my aunt Misae is her favorite sibling." He chuckled at the thought. There were very few things he was sure his mother was actually fond of, and this aunt was one of them. Not that she didn't love her other sisters, Misae was just the one she had bonded with moreso than the others.

"In a sense yes, to both of them," he paused wrinkling his nose. "I go to seek a blessing and perhaps a token from the gods for my siblings as well as myself," he shrugged. "It's my trial." Not that he needed a trial in the first place but it was something he needed to do for himself.

“Maybe your mother doesn’t admit it, because she doesn’t want her other siblings to get jealous if they know your mom likes her sister better then the others?” She offered. When it came to Cit’s family, she liked almost everyone just about the same – with the exception of Koda. Being inseparable during their childhood was the reason for the charcoal healer in training.

“Oh…so are you going to find all the gods of the four basic elements? Like…after the water god, find the one of fire, air and earth too?” That would be wicked, but probably an arduous task as well.

“…Trial?” Hadn’t Maji mentioned the trials before? Her thoughts were distracted as they walked. The climate seemed to become more muggier now, no longer the heat filled air. Citka didn’t know if she liked the feeling; it was hot, but wet. Was this the jungle?

“…I think…we’re there?”

"Probably," he agreed nodding. It made sense, especially with the way his mother acted. She had always shouldered so much responsibility he couldn't help but feel envy for her for her completely calm demur. It was difficult to piss that female off, unless you were red. He chuckled at the memory of his mother's first meeting with the half-firekin Vulcan. Of course she didn't know he had been there or he would've been in soooo much trouble. Good times, good times.

"That is my plan, I can only hope to accomplish it before too much time passes," he admitted glancing down. "I've heard that the goddess of wind frequents the Ela lands, I'm hoping to find the goddess of earth around the swamplands I've heard of. I'm just hoping to stumble across the other two honest," he laughed dryly. "It might be a fool's quest but I can't help but try." He shrugged.

"Hm? Oh yes, the humid atmosphere seems to be right, now let's look for that plant."

“Well then, at least you have a plan! It’s not like you are shooting in the dark about where you are going,” though, in reality, he kind of was. It wasn’t certain that the gods would be in each land that he mentioned, but at least he heard that was were they might be. Citka needed to get out more, she didn’t know exactly what the ‘Ela’ lands were, nor what the term ‘swamplands’ meant, but she could only assume that it was something about the terrain? She shrugged, making a mental note to ask her parents when she got back.

She nodded. The plant they were looking for was almost stringy like, with the small leaves the spread out on the side. “Dad said you would know it when you see it,” she gazed at the plants, “I don’t think these are any of it, let’s check further on!”

"I guess so," he replied uncertaintly. He had a general idea of where to find the gods but in reality he could only hope they were there. And the goddess of fire...he had no information on her at all. He'd just have to gather some on his travels, once he concluded current business with Citka.

"Alright, I can only hope that your father is right," he commented chuckling. "Or that you know it when you see it, honestly I don't think I'd know much about the differences between plants," he sighed. Of course he could always try talking to the plants...

It was a quirk from when he was a child, a token of his blessings. He wasn't crazy by any means but he believed that he could very well talk to nature, at least then. Now he wasn't so sure.

She knew her father --- she believed him when he said ‘you’d know it when you’d see it.’ After giving a description, she was certain she would find something like the plant. If anything, she might find something that would find look similar to what was described, and then would look a few more days to make sure there wasn’t something else more ‘similar’ to what she’d find. (That was, if she found anything in the first place).

She gazed towards the ground. She had seen some of the plants that were scattered around their paws. “None of these…” She needed to find them.

“…oh!” She pointed just towards the left of them. “I…I think those are it. They sort of match the description!” She bounced towards the small plants.

He had found himself falling behind her as she darted from plant to plant examine each in hopes they were the plant she was looking for, no needed. He couldn't help but smile as she moved, she was so excited at the possibility of finding it.

It was rather cute.

He was thankful that lions weren't actually able to blush or he might of at the thought. Quickly he shook his head and made his way towards her. When she spoke to him he nodded. "Well let's have a look then." He told her catching up to her and heading over to the plant. "Well it looks like what you explained to me, do you want to take some and keep looking just in case?"

“I think I will!” Oh, this was so exciting. If this was the actual plant, then that means she could go home and show her father. He would be so proud! “But….just to make sure, I’ll look around some more later.” She picked the plant by the stem, making sure to keep her lips away from the leaves. She didn’t need her maw going numb if this was the actual plant.

She looked around, hearing the sounds of running water. “What’s that?” She had heard rushing water before, after all – her homelands had the raging river as well as the calm one. This sound was different, like the water was pounding on something.

"Alright," he replied as he watched her delicately pick the plant and hold it in her maw. At first he was confused as to why she would do that before he remembered their earlier conversation, the plant helped the patient by making the area of 'operation' go numb. Although the image of a lion, or any creature actually, trying to speak with numb lips was rather amusing to him.

He couldn't help but chuckled. "Wait," he paused a look of concentration decorating his features. "I'm pretty sure it's water, um..." he had the word dancing on the tip of his tongue. What was it again... "Could it be a waterfall?"

Maybe while in the jungle, Citka would create some type of ‘bag’ to carry the plants she found. She would investigate the jungles later for large leaves or something to help construct something.

“A….waterfall? What’s that?” She had never seen one before if that’s what it was. “Like…like rain? That’s water that falls, isn’t it?” Citka lived a shelter life apparently, not knowing what a waterfall was exactly. “Can we go see it? I have never seen a…waterfall before.” She asked quietly, like a child would ask their parent for something like a treat.

"Er, not exactly," he told her. "It's more like water from a river streaming down a cliff," he explained. He wasn't sure of a better way to put it, besides that seemed pretty accurate to him. "The water then falls into a lake, it's really a beautiful sight."

He himself had only seen one back when his whole family had been moving from place to place trying to figure out their next step, next move. He wondered how many he would come across on his journey.

"Of course we can go see it, but you don't need my permission," he laughed softly. "I mean, you're an adult, you can make your own decisions," he shrugged before begining to walk in the direction where the roar of the water was the loudest.

Citka nodded. She knew she was an adult, but it was just a habit to always ask permission. She needed to learn that now she was on her own (for the time being, anyways) things would be able to be done without asking. Making a mental note in her head, she followed Majivu.

Upon arriving at the waterfall, Citka's eyes widened. "Whoa..." that was all she said.

"Not even the raging river in my pride is this...fierce...." she stated after a moment, wanting to go under the falls to feel the power, but yet stood right at the sidelines. Things this beautiful had potential to kill, Citka wasn't ab out to risk her life to test the theory.

The site was a beautiful one, that was for sure and he couldn't help but have his breath taken away by it. "Amazing..." he mumbled letting his golden eyes take in the rushing water. "So much beauty, yet so much danger," he commented glancing over at his companion to see her reaction. He chuckled at the awe that decorated her expression.

"Nature is something isn't it?"

“It’s unbelievable,” she said quietly, casting her dual colored gaze towards the male. “There is so much out here that I never knew about. I guess I’ll need to explore it more often,” flashing the other a quick smile, she turned back to the rushing water. Citka could stare at it all day, but the day was beginning to draw to a close. Perhaps she should take a small nap, and continue to look for a similar plant during the night time. Father never did say what time of day it actually grew in.

Giving a short nod, she stepped back, looking for a nice place to lie down. “We should rest before we begin our journey back home.”

"It shows us so many different things," he told her thinking about the oasis that still gave him shivers as well as the highlands where his home lay. There were simply just many wonders that needed to be seen, he couldn't wait until he came across the ocean, from the stories he had heard, well he heard it was simply one of a kind.

"Hm?" he mumbled turning his head back over to her. He thought about it and nodded. "I do believe you are right, we've have had much excitement today don't you think?"

“It’s been eventful! We managed to get here, and find a plant like the one described…and also seeing this wonder!” Citka said excitedly, trudging towards a nice soft spot on the ground, motioning for Majivu to follow. “Thank you for coming with me,” she said after a bit. “I think it’d have been very lonely if you hadn’t come…” she laid on the ground, tail flicking occasionally on the dirt.

He nodded in agreement before moving to join her. "I must agree," he replied with a soft smile as he laid down. "Of course," he paused looking at her. "It's been my pleasure Citka," Majivu told her glad that they had journeyed together. Time flew by when there was someone to pass it with.
