Oleander walked slowly, cautiously through the den; peering at the small trinkets that decorated the mediocre apartment. He couldn't believe his good fortune! He'd found a place to stay as soon as he made it into town and thankfully, just before the snow storm. A women had generously offered to feed, house, and clothe him without him even saying a word.

He wasn't used to this sort of kindness; he had grown up fighting to make a meager living for himself and he had nothing to show for it. Perhaps this new turn of events would bring forth happier times for the young male.

I'm not going back there. Not after...

His thoughts came to a pause as his eyes fell upon a worn leather covered bottle. He picked it up, studying it, and fingered the old cords that held it wrapped.

"I see you met Bear."

Bear?

"Well, his name's Bahaar, but you can call him Bear. I'm sure he'd like that. He needs a good friend, and by the looks of things, so do you."

The women smiled and turned, taking her leave from the room.

"Let me see about getting you those clothes, honey."

Oleander smiled and nodded in appreciation, but reached out when he came to an embarassing realization.

"I appreciate all this, I really do. But could you tell me where I might find myself some glasses? I'm a tad near sighted."

"As am I. I believe I have some old thin wire frames around here somewhere. Sit awhile with Bear, won't you?"

"Of course. Thanks."

He watched as she left the room before peering down at the bottle before him. Bear had been set amongst plush pillows and a small afghan for warmth during the winter months. He looked most comfortable, but Oleander could swore he was teeming with sore feelings.

How odd. So young and he already holds such contempt for this world. We can't be having that now, can we?

He picked up the smaller being, and sat in his padded spot on the sofa. Oleander held him up to the light slipping in through the window from behind them. The glass was smoky and opaque beneath the leather hide covering.

"You need to let go of this ill will, lil one."

The bottle shook slightly within his grasp, hard enough that the beads dinged against the glass even with the covering.

"Ah, he seems to be in another funk. Must be cranky today."

Bear continued to move from within his glass encasement and Oleander thought it best to get up and set him in his place.

"Don't mind him, he's just like any small child. Oh, here, these are the only things I could find to suit you properly. Can I get you anything more?"

"No, no. You've done more for me than I could possibly hope to burden you for. Thank you so much."

The woman merely smiled before heading to the kitchen.

"Dinner'll be ready in a little bit. Why don't you enjoy some television til then?"

He nodded and looked to the screen after hitting the power switch. Nothing that held his interest was on and it didn't help that he kept glancing over at Bear from where he sat.

You're just like him, Bear. Please, don't cause her any pain.

Bear sat still, his mind full of brilliant images. He couldn't make out the miscellaneous shapes or colors, Hell, he'd never even opened his eyes yet! This thoughts troubled him greatly; he wanted to make sense and ease the tension in his head. His glass began 'humming' as he wished to see outside his glass encasement.

Dinner was quiet, but plentiful and Oleander was most grateful to the kind woman and her humble home and offerings. He could see Bear from where he sat and tried not to think about the little one too much.

The woman excused herself before he had finished his meal and went to sit in the den by the window. She sat with Bear atop her lap and stroked the leather hide and coarse ties.

"Such remarkable colors. You're going to be a lil heart breaker."

Oleander giggled softly to himself, trying to conceal his eavesdropping. He wondered if his own mother or caregiver had been so kind, soft.

"Shall we sing a song then? What shall it be tonight, how about Southpaw Boxer?

Like a philosopher, I turn my back on the age and live my own way.
Like a bystander, I cross over time and wander on.
The dictators are furious. Their man has made the exact same mistake again.
I’m sure just about everyone is striving for a different future.
"

Oleander rose, picking up the dirty plates and walked to the sink to clean. He hummed the last couple of verses to himself while he worked and wondered how long he'd be allowed to stay here, with her and Bear.

Event!
Vaporization.
Done with his half-life in the bottle, Bahaar is getting ready to vaporize. And with a mighty pop and a long whistle, the bottle begins to spout thick vapor. It soon cools and settles into the form of a Temeo.
Congratulations! Your gentle care has prompted your Temeo to emerge.
If image appears a bottle, please refresh.

"Heavens, would you look at that!"

The plate Oleander had been drying slipped from his grasp, but he quickly fought to claim it again, despite the cloth in hand. He succeeded, but instantly put the plate and rag down before heading towards the woman's voice; towards the den. And he stopped as soon as he entered the room, mouth agape, finger outstretched...

"He.... he grew?!?"

"Yeah I grew. Did you think I'd stay in that form forever?"

"Well, it had been some time since I brought it/you home."

Bahaar sneered and snubbed the two; obviously annoyed by the awe and surprise surrounding the circumstances of his transformation.

"You don't have to be so cold Bear. It's just nice... It's like seeing you for the first time, again."

The kit cocked his head and held the other temeo's gaze. He was uncomfortable in his new form, but not ungrateful for being near 'family'. He'd kindly keep those feelings to himself, but he nodded and rested his head on the woman's lap since she sat next to him, admiring him.

"Not so bad, I suppose."
