Mwenye-Heri Tarishi had wandered out to the edges of Jini-msemi territory a few hours ago, hoping for some time to be alone - and not the kind of alone where someone might happen to wander by. The pride was much bugger than it had been once upon a time, meaning there were more lions than before to run into. It wasn't a bad thing, really, but she wanted some time to think. The truth was, though, she didn't have all that much to think about.
Things had all just been so...strange since her mother's death, and had gotten stranger when her younger siblings and then her own children had left. All of a sudden, Shishi didn't know what to do with herself anymore.

Soloren was finding more and more often that space to 'be alone' in was hard to come by -- lions, leopards, everything was starting to congregate on what had been empty space in his childhood to form prides... which in turn had started to mean that sometimes he'd be chased out -- even if it was by a pretty face of some sort.
But it also meant that in some places he was suspicious of possible run-in. However, for some things he'd let it slide -- such as the presence of the white-furred (well, mostly) female that he could see some distance away from him.
However, instead of sidling up with some charming suave greeting of whatever variety, he simply sidled over and sat down -- enough distance to give him time to flee if she felt inclined to attack him, but also close enough to allow his sincere curiousity in her show obviously.

In a way, Shishi almost envied her older brother, Narindima'moyo; though she'd never had any ambitions of taking her mother's place, at least Nari had a neverending supply of distractions. Shishi, on the other hand, had plenty of free time to brood. Maybe she ought to bother him for some sort of responsibility so that she could occupy herself with something other than the duties of a huntress. She felt a little like she might go crazy without s-
Oh? What was this? Somewhere in the midst of her brooding, she'd missed to approach of another. Now that she'd noticed him, she took a quiet moment to study him. He was not of the pride, that was for certain, although he would have fit well enough appearance-wise. Better than she did! She took almost entirely after her grandfather in color, with the light colors of the sun-worshipping half of the Ardhi'bedui.
Not that colors really mattered to the Jini-misemi; while greens and browns had once been dominant, that was no longer the case. There was very little of the 'original' blood left in the pride, but no one minded. Outward appearance didn't mean a thing. Still, Shishi did tend to find greens especially appealing.
Just a personal preference. Curious, she tilted her head slightly and offered a friendly, "Hello."

Soloren had nothing to hide, so when the female turned her eyes on him he sat quite still and perhaps just a little straighter to allow a better once-over -- as though he was waiting to see what sort of reaction she'd have to his presence.
No need to invite himself too much closer if she'd rather he not make such an approach.
However, it seemed she hadn't deemed him to be a nuisance to her presence from first impressions, so he settled in and nodded back to her greeting. "Hello." he answered simply, his entire posture relaxing more now. "You had a sad look about you, so I came to sit and give you company, if you're so inclined for it."

At his offer, a touch of a smile graced her pale face. Distractions wouldn't make problems go away, but...it would be nice, at least for awhile. She nodded her assent. "I would like some company, yes."
"My name is Shishi. And you are?"

Oh good, she didn't go 'NO, GTFO! D8<' at him for that. That was a good sign indeed! Cautiously, though not suspiciously, he sat down next to the lioness, nodding as she offered him her name. Well, that was a rather lovely name indeed!
"That's a beautiful name you have." he agreed, before he did the polite thing to return his own. "Mine is Soloren." Nice and simple, if he could say so himself, but at least it was unique. He'd yet to have run into anybody else who had such a name. "I'm just a rogue who was passing by the area... I've never quite seen a place like this one."

"Thank you," she said, accepting the compliment with a smile. "Yours is good, too." It was actually short for a much longer name, and had been for her cub name as well. It was a funny sort of coincidence, and quite unintentional. Her grandfather had given her this name.
"There's nowhere else like it." Shishi was proud of her home. "Not many outsiders appreciate it, though."

He seemed to be quite humored by how the lioness spoke of her home, looking away from her to pass his gaze over the swamplands (or what he could see of them, rather) once again. They.. were not bad. Certainly they may have been a bit murky for his own abilities (as he probably would have been eaten by a gator), but they were not bad.
"Well, I imagine I wouldn't do well inside of the lands. I'm not exactly the most sure-footed of individuals. I fear that if I were to try, I would either look foolish, or be eaten by something that could navigate much better than myself."
He did his best to not sound insulting by saying the land and himself would not mix and match very well. On the contrary, he was attempting to say it was too good for him.
Which in a sense, it was.
"But I wouldn't mind taking a look about it, if it would be permissible."

"It takes a little practice," she said with a small smile, "Not that I've never misjudged the depth of a pool and gone for an unintended swim." He was right about the possbility of being eaten, though - there were a fair few crocodiles in the swamp! Fortunately, however, no one had ever been eaten by one, at least that she'd heard of.
"I'd be happy to show you around a little." Shishi stood, stretching just a little. "I promise I won't let anything eat you."

Ah ha ha..ha.. oh dear, he actually paused to imagine himself becoming gatorfood, making a slightly amusing expression as he considered the possibility, before shaking his head to snap himself out of it. Oops!
Yeah, he'd just um... well, there was no harm on going off on a swamp-romp he guessed.
"I would be charmed." he answered, also rising to his feet and stretching, digging his claws into the earth before straightening back out to look at his now-Swamp-tourguide with a slight smile.
"If you would be so kind?"

"Certainly," she agreed with an inclination of her head, turning towards the swamp. "If you'll just follow me, then..."
It was a good way to pull herself from her sulking, at least a little while. She'd introduced newcomers to the swamp before, although she got the feeling this wasn't one who'd be staying. He'd be a lovely addition, though, with those colors and all...

He was calm enough to follow her lead when she gave it, looking around at the scenery around them with a sort of curiosity that it deserved (rather than the lack of interest). Unfortunately, as Shishi suspected, Soloren would only be looking at the scenery on the nice tour she was about to give him.
As for his colors....
Well, that was something for another time. For now, all of his attention was on the swamplands that he was delving into; there was to be quite an interesting trip for him to look back on later.
