It was a nice cool evening. The perfect time to hunt after a long hot day on the Savannah. The rainy season had started early, he noted with his nose to the wind. The soft wind held a distinct sense of rain but also carried the sweet smell of a zebra herd. He started to plow in their direction on fleet feet, huffing through his open maw. He wasn't incapable of taking down a zebra by himself. He was a bachelor and his troupe's hunter for the most part. But he wasn't always bright enough to get out of the way of a quick placed hoof and held the scars of a few hunts on his frame.
Maybe he could find some help. If a herd was being so lazy as to let their smell drift across the plains then maybe someone else had caught wind of them. He found a large rock and leaped onto it, glancing around. This wasn't his territory and he wouldn't defend it as such. He just wanted someone to have friendly hunt with him.
He would applicate a female but the green maned lion knew he was starting to get up there in years. Even his youngest cubs he knew had to be adolescents if not adults right now. To think that made him rather sad as he hadn't meant all his cubs. Most of them were to help someone with their pride numbers or to make sure the female wasn't lonely. His ears fell back but he shook it off.
His delicate nose picked up what he thought was another African predator and he let his thoughts fall away as he tried to locate the other.

 Hroarrrrrrrrrrrr. Ma-harrraaorrrrrr.
Ban'ma lowered her head sheepishly into the overgrowth and gave her stomach a good glare. It was becoming incresingly difficult to keep it as full as it was used to. Pride life had spoiled her beyond repair and here she was, stalking the juiciest looking zebra in all of forever with her stomach giving her away every couple of steps.
Great.
She crouched low to the ground with her flourescent mane flopped over her right eye. Dark eyes watched as the zebra returned to it's herd, skirting away from her scent in a mad dash, but luckily it didn't alert the others. Life was getting pretty bad when prey beasts didn't take her seriously. Huffing, Ban'ma crept forward with her tongue hanging out the side of her mouth. This would be so much easier if she had a helping paw. She was a social lioness by nature, and being on her own didn't suit her at all. With someone else, she might have had more of a drive to catch her meal and maybe even have some dinner company.
Grrraawwwrrr.
"Shush!" She hissed sharply, tapping her stomach with an agitated paw before turning her salivating mouth to the herd.

Nyack snorted slightly as he kept himself low. The closer he got to the female's scent the more he smelled the herd. So someone had picked up on it. Good, hopefully they'd be friendly.
He spies a bit of blue in the grass and sinks down to the ground, crawling over to her to avoid scaring their potential meal. "Excuse me..." He says in a loud whisper, glancing toward the herd. "I see you're hunting these animals... I ah... was needing some help." He doesn't want to make her think he's challenging her pride. He just wants a paw in taking one down and some company.

Ban'ma jumped, her crystal blue eyes widening in fear as she prepared to bolt. The scream in her throat was barely snuffled by the fact that her surprise attacker was lion and she swallowed it quickly. "Don't do that!" She chastised. "You nearly scared me out of my fur. Jeez, are all rogues like you?"
He was cute, in a foresty kinda way, but that didn't give him any excuse to do that. Although....."You want help?" She brightened up and chewed on her bottom lip, cutting off her little squeel of happiness. Praise be! Her luck was changing for the good. "Your timing couldn't have been better, shug. If we hit them at once, I know we can take 'em."

Nyack put his ears back as he realized he'd scared the female instead of the herd. Oops... "Ah I'm sorry... Er I don't think so... I've met some mean ones and some really nice ones..." He voiced with hesitation.
He gave her a sheepish smile when she brightened. Good, he liked it when girls (or anyone) were happy. It meant he'd done something good. "Shug?" He questioned with a dull blink then cast it off. She could call him what she wanted.
"That was what I was hoping. Thank you for your help." He gave her a polite bob of his head and turned his attention to the hunt at hand. "Which way do you want to come from?"

Ban'ma exhaled shakily and put on an appologetic smile. "Nah, I'm sorry. I just kinda...suck at hunting. I guess I should have seen you coming or something. "
She laughed, then slapped both paws over her mouth. What if the herd had heard her?! "Sorry, sorry, my bad." The lioness whispered. "It was just so funny. Your reaction, I mean. Shug is just my way of shortening sugar. I call people nicknames all the time." She shrugged it off, feeling good enough with her explanation. "Now, lets catch us some food." She licked her lips.
Not really sure about hunter lingo in the least, she looked over her options. "Umm...how about the back?"

"I'm sure you'll do fine. I'm rather sneaky so..." He was trying to keep her from feeling too low about herself.
He gave a soft chuckle himself. "No worries. O-Oh..." He seemed to blush a bit and shifted himself. "Yes, I think... I think catching food would be a good idea... I'm uh I'm Nyack."
The 'back' was a good of a direction as any. He turned himself so he was facing the heard and and started to move quietly, searching for a good one.
"That one looks old enough. We can probably take him down."

When her eye caught the little blush Ban'ma felt more at ease. "A pleasure, Nyack. I'm Ban'ma." She batted her eyelashes, the right being the only visible set since her left was covered in her vibrant mane. It really was a hassle because it grew so long, but she didn't have time to worry. Her stomach was making noises again.
She snuck along behind him with her belly as close to the ground as possible. All in all she was clumsily scraping her hindlegs against the ground. "Good idea. If he's old, he can't run as fast." Two points for Captain Obvious. "What do we do now?"
