Redwing sat by the river. The rocks had taken in too much heat, even for a cat like herself to be comfortable, so she settled with staying in the grass. She was almost tempted the jump into the water, but tryed to push the thoughts out of her mind. She was a ThunderClan cat, after all. The only ones who were supposed to like water were RiverClan cats. But still, she found her paws starting to carry her over to the river's edge.

Firestone was out of the camp. It wasn't an official patrol or anything; He was just with a couple of his clanmates, who wanted to do something besides stay in the camp all day. He sniffed the air, and held its clean feel in him for a bit. He loved Greenleaf.
He was dragging behind the others, but they didn't slow down, nor did he give any effort into speeding up. He just didn't feel like running very much; not when it was this hot. Instead, he checked to see if anyone was looking, and then left for the river. Maybe he could fish or something, but at least it would be cooler.

She had only been in the river once before.
She was just an apprentice, and a lot of cats were at Sunningrocks. Redwing didn't find much appeal in laying on a pile of rocks, so while her mentor was lying there, she decided to wander a bit. The river seemed to draw her in like a magnet. And without a second thought, she ran right in; splashing around in the water, and not thinking about anything else.
Then the next thing she remembered was her mentor calling her away from with water with a dissaproving scowl. 'ThunderClan cats do not swim,' he had said, 'Leave the river and its fish to RiverClan'.
But Redwing couldn't understand what was so wrong about it. It just seemed so.... natural

Firestone ran for the water, and leaped in with a splash. He wasn't worried, because this was a shallow part of the river. The water felt so good, and he was immedietly cooler than before.
He ran a paw over his face to knock some of the water off, then started looking down into the light stream for signs of movement.

Hesitantly, she stepped into the cool water. It felt good for this time of year when the sun beat against everything in the forest. She could feel the ripples around her feet, and stepped sideways when she felt a fish nibbling at her toes. She had never tried fish. Once in a while a warrior might bring one to the camp, but usually the elders ate before she had a chance to. She watched in the water for the silver shimmer of the scales, walking around slowly with her paws slightly padding in and out of the river.

The water was stirring now, and Firestone looked above the surface to see why. That's the reason: he could see the red she-cat now, awkwardly moving around. Was she trying to scare the fish?
"Hey! You!" he cried out. That cat wasn't from his Clan. If she was she wouldn't be making such a dumb mistake. "Get out of the river!" he hissed.

Redwing stopped immediately after hearing the command. "Who? Me?" she called looking for where the voice was coming from. She spotted the cat further upstream the river. He was a quite handsome stong-built tom from what she could see and smell. And he was definitely a RiverClan warrior.
She stepped out of the water. "Sorry," she apologized, "I didn't mean to.. I'm so sorry." This wasn't the first time she had gotten scolded for being in the river, and it most likely wasn't going to be the last.
