His lip curled to the side in the form of a smirk as he stretched out his limbs. He had spent the last day or two in the area of the Mwezi checking in with his 'friend' to find that she had gotten bigger, with cubs. From what she had told him, they were his and he had no reason to believe that they were not, besides he'd figure that if they were his or not they'd be coming with him. Little Ivie had expressed thoughts as such, he needed more potential members anyway.
Speaking of members he still needed to find himself a lady who could deal with him and the possible gossip that was bound to occur. But then he was used to being talked about, he still was. Things like that came with the title of royalty and more specifically, heir and king. Not that he minded, it just meant that he made an impression on impressionable minds and that worked for him.
Now he was out to test the waters.
Maua sighed. A long and irritated noise drawn out as her usually elegant tail beat against the ground like an unruly chimp. Did it ALWAYS have to take him so long? Not that she'd ever been truely dissapointed with the end result, despite what she may have said aloud... Reguardless.. some feelings of worry lingered in the ebony princess. He'd promised not to leave.. and yet so had her sisters. And goodness knows they'd left her sick and near dead in the middle of the damn savannah.
Kika just needed to hurry up! Huffing gently, Maua debated taking a short little walk. But she could not convince herself entirely of the effort. Taking the middle ground she instead began to pace a wide circle, eyes touching the horizon at each turn in search of life.
Suijin had fufilled his need to stretch as such he started to walk again. He didn't have a specific direction in mind quite yet but it was fine, he knew his way around, he'd reach a destination eventually. For now he was on a hunt, not for the edible prey but for the...guilible prey.
It was then that he spotted her, her dark coat decorated with red markings. He furrowed his brow trying to decide if that was indeed markings or if it was the paint markings he had come to see around the savannah. Well there was only one way to find out, to ask her.
"Hello madam, I couldn't help but notice you where here by yourself, isn't that dangerous for such a pretty lady?" There he went turning up the charm.
She felt a soft spark in her spine, eyes widening softly in surprise, though they'd narrowed once more to their almond like slits by the time she'd turned and found the male close enough to inspect. Her last encounter while she'd waited for Kika had been lucky... lucky she'd found a nephew to prattle at instead of some other pride member that might have tried to attack her for the venom she'd spit against her sister's pride. Would she be so lucky this time?
She did not particularly like the fact that he'd mentioned danger... it was often the sign of someone intent on it. But perhaps he was a chivalrous fool too. Stuck in her spot, she pulled herself upward more regally, watching the male with cautious red eyes. "Perhaps. But my guard is not far away. Surely he'd come running if he heard me yell."
What Kika would do against a fullsized lion male she wasn't sure.. but ideal threats often worked just as well as real ones. Both out of caution and finding the distraction of the male a reprieve from her wait, she left her attention on him responding mildly. "How 'kind' of you to ask, though."
"You have a guard ma'am? How wise of you," he replied with a nod closing the distance between them. When he found himself to be a comfortable distance from her, close enough that neither would have to shout, but far enough away that neither had to worried about being attacked without some effort. "I must admit that I feel a ting of jealous for the male that gets to spend his time with such a beauty." He figured flattery was something most females enjoyed, even if a potentionally greater threat loomed around the corner.
"I suppose it was, but then again perhaps not," he replied shrugging. "Would you rather that I leave you ma'am?" he asked flicking his tail behind him. He had to be careful with his words, if she sent him away without enough information, well then it could be potentially disappointing and he couldn't have that. "I must admit though, the reason I engaged you in conversation was for one simple reason," he paused wondering if he had captured her attention. "The red upon your pelt, is that a natural marking? I must say, it inhances your eyes."
"No true princess would be wandering about creation without an escort" she replied matter of factly, not seeming too disturbed by the distance that was shrinking between them. "He is a good guard and a good hunter." It was something that not many could say.. pretty much owning another creature to do their biding. It raised her mood to brag about it. And his flattery only helped to keep it going.
"You can stay." She smiled a pretty smile, one lacking her usual venom, meant to charm back, her eyes turning to touch the markings on her back as they came to attention. It was a strange question.. and she debated for a moment laughing him off, insisting it was quite an inappropriate thing to ask a lady. However his astuteness should be rewarded.. and obviously if he'd looked close enough to actually question.. well then she didn't mind letting him bask in her beauty a little longer. "How very observant of you. The red is an accent I have applied on ocassion just for the reason you've mentioned."
"Are you a princess then madam?" He inquired his interest spike even more so than before. There was much potential within this one, even his mother would have found interest in her. "May I ask from which pride?" He inquired once he had her 'permission' to stay. He didn't need it but he liked to make her think she had even the tiniest bit of power over the situation. There was a reason his former best friend feared him, even though he was considerably smaller. "I appreciate it ma'am." He told her with a grin spreading across his maw.
It wasn't his usual grin, that was usually more of a smirk but it was his charmer's grin. Whenever he played a part of something or rather someone he had to play it perfectly. It was how his mother had raised him. "An accent? Well I must say you have great taste then," he told her letting his water-blue eyes dance over her form once more.
Perfect, since it was nothing more than an illusion so to speak, she was fitting his ideals nicely.
"Thank you.." Maua almost purred with the compliment as she herself began to inspect his coat and stature. She could see it, that tiny spark of interest she'd instilled with her 'oh so subtle' slip. Of course he'd be impressed after all. As his question arose however, she wondered what way to best continue. The truth and pity worked.. clearly someone so charming as him would enjoy a little damsel. "Umande'mfuni, or perhaps you'd know them as the Mistweavers"
Her tail danced as an expression of exasperation touched her features, truely playing up the part. "But alas, my kingdom was usurped and stolen from me. My family and I were cast out but threat of death."
"My only condolence in the whole thing is that the pride has run itself into the ground now. Even the Storm god abandoned them for their crimes."

"The Mistweavers?" He repeated furrowing his brow. How interesting. "I've heard of the place but have never been there myself," he remarked almost sadly. from what he had heard in many ways it was similar to his own pride, with one great exception. The pride members had not deserted the queen, or whomever was ruling the lands. Although he guess in a sense they had overturned their royalty.
"That is quite the pity Miss, I myself face a similar situation," he sighed shaking his head. If pity worked for her then perhaps it would work for him. "However, for me it was the opposite, my pride left me when I did not wish to give up the lands," he drooped his head keeping his gaze on her. If this didn't interest her in him then he wouldn't know what would.
"But with the recent rains the lands have flourished once more," he looked up with a grin. "I just have to spread the word and maybe I'll have my home back..." he stated eagerly before mentally cursing himself.
He shouldn't sound so damn eager.

-Though at most times she really couldn't care less about anyone else's problems or worries, she found her ears twitching softly to catch his words, trying to dig the meaning from them. Was he.. a king? Or simply some peasant who loved 'his' pride? Her interest was perked, her slender frame taking a subconcious step forward, tail flicking.-
"Ohhh...?" -She asked softly, trying as well not interested any more than in politeness.- "What is your pride like?"

"In my opinion," he pause a smirk sliding across his lips. "The best place you'll ever happen upon, of course I might just be a little bit biased, I can't help it though," he told her drooping his ears slightly to make it seem if he was slightly bashful. She was taking the bait just like he thought she would. Everything was going according to plan.
"In the center there's a large lake fed by numerous waterfalls, with the abundant water-flow the vegetation has flourished since the pride disbanded," he began his whole demur brightening as he began to describe his home, his pride...his kingdom. "Honestly it's one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen and I've been to quite a few places," he admitted with a happy sigh. "It's just a shame that I've been left alone."
He dropped his gaze down to the ground. "It was a real shame too, the drought came just as I started to take my position as king..." he shook his head as if it was a real regret. "Although now that the lands are flourishing I believe that the children of former members will return, I've actually found a few interested..."
So much for subtle hinting.

-Oh this was torture!! He spoke and spoke in words so vague... she just couldn't tell... and then finally! The words she wanted to hear spilled off his masculine voice and the mild rigidity in her shoulders melted, stepping forward with a sultry liquidness, pulling her so close that if he tried, he could reach out and touch her.
Her face pulled forward a mask of concern, her voice coming out far sweeter then it had before.- "What a tragedy... but atleast it seems yours will have a happy ending King... " -She paused softly.. making it obvious he'd failed to name himself for her.
He made no mention of queen... and her mind danced over the idea of the pride. An old one.. not something just made up and created like her sister's... and water drew back memories of her youth in the mistweavers.
Red eyes focusing on his softly, she pondered her best options. He seemed a fairly strong male.. so shoving her way in did not seem an option. Settling herself to sit prettily before him, her tail wrapped elegantly about her.- "I'm sure they will come back and you will raise a strong pride. Perhaps even.. if you don't mind... I'd like to see it someday during my travels." -God it was hard not to spit the word travel. The very thought of spending a whole lifetime of walking sent a shiver down her spine.-

"I can only hope so ma'am," he replied nodding. Things were progressing just so smoothly for him, but then again lately everything had been. "Ah, pardon my rudeness, I've just realized that I hadn't introduced myself," he paused pretending to be shocked that he hadn't already done so. He was trying to get her to introduce herself first but it was no matter, it wouldn't hurt him either way. "My name madam, is Suijin."
He looked at her with his most charming smile. "Do I get the pleasure of knowing your name?" He inquired deciding that he didn't want to wait for her to possibly give her his name, he just wanted her name.
"You know, I would love to have you come see my kingdom," he commented a smirk spreading across his maw again. "Right now it's a bit lonely. It is only myself, another male will me joining me eventually but..." he trailed off hoping she'd get the hint that he was single.

((*snicker giggles* He already used her name a couple posts up XD ))
"Maua.." -She purred the tone pleasantly, drawing it out like music.- "Since you're fellow royalty I wouldn't dream of asking you to make sure you remember the 'princess' before it." -She 'giggled' delicately.. a strange and foreign noise to her, who usually scoffed, but she was playing coy, and for now was doing a pretty good job.
Her heart fluttered the further on the conversation drew hardly believing that all she'd been waiting for.. was now finally being laid out before her. The perfect oppurtunity.. it had to be a dream, and yet she knew it wasn't. Maua tried hard not to show her excitement or desperation, turning her gaze for a moment to hide the grin she couldn't keep from touching her.- "If you are in no hurry, I would be happy to accompany you when my escort returns. We're going nowhere in particular at the moment, so viewing your pride would be my great pleasure."
-Eyes turning back, she peered at him with a sultry gaze that fit her almond eyes so well, adding a hint of sexiness to her otherwise innocent words. No need to be a whore, but she certainly didn't mind working for what she wanted.- "And perhaps we can help remedy that lonliness. If only for awhile"
