Name: Ralke Age: 19 Sex: Male Sexual Orientation: Girls. Every make and model. [Heterosexual] Craft: Smithcraft Rank: Candidate
Physical Description: Quite the opposite of his sister, Ralke's appearance is just as bright as his personality. The boy has a head of dark, jet black hair that is as straight as his orientation and happens to stand on end as if he had been struck by lightening, or, more likely, a hard hand, one time too many. Stormy grey eyes that are framed with thick eyelashes, too good for any male, are often upturned at the corners at whatever prank or joke he is currently in the midst of pulling, but all emotion can be tracked to this area of his face; when irritated or upset, Ralke may appear to have shaken it off or forgotten about whatever ill occurrence is at hand, but his eyes betray him to anyone looking hard enough. A bad habit of blushing, either in guilt, amusement, or simply excitement, it isn't far fetched and makes it common for Ralke to have a set of rosy cheeks no matter the weather: warm or cold. A strong set of cheekbones and a full mouth make Ralke quite a looker with the ladies... Of either sexual preference, he has found. He stands half a head taller than the average male his age and, by his sister Rawni's opinion, he probably has a few more left to squeeze out of his last growth spurt.
Ralke rather enjoys looking his best; not only does it irritate his sister but it gains him a few more points with whichever female this jokester is currently teasing. In the past few turns, Rakle has taken it upon himself to arrange for a piercing at the top of his left earlobe, currently decorating the cartilage. Ralke would look good standing next to any one. Well, perhaps better, depending on the person.
Personality: Think of the archetypical jokester in any mythology. That is, on the surface, Ralke. Constantly thinking of new pranks to pull, it was no wonder he finally decided to become an apprentice for the smithies in the Weyr. If he doesn't Impress in the next few Turns, Ralke could easily move forward in his Craft and do silly and important things for the Weyr. Despite his easy capacity and enjoyment of his Craft and his pranks, the other important thing in Ralke's life are girls.
Not only his sister, but the girls Ralke likes to tease, likes to prank, and, most importantly, likes to kiss. And he likes to kiss a lot, but only one at a time. A bit of a charmer, Ralke has a habit of making himself known to a certain female, teasing her and joking with her until she agrees to go along with him for a while, and then decides to move along to someone else. Simply because he isn't looking for long term yet and he feels that someone else should have the opportunity to let these girls have the fairy tale they deserve. And most often, he knows just who should follow in on his wake. A bit of a hands-on matchmaker, he is.
Much more of a teddy bear on the inside, Ralke, unlike his sister, is unbelievably incapable of showing it, even to those he loves the most. Except when he's discussing his current romantic situation with Rawni. Then he can show her how he feels towards someone else. But never towards her. Even though he thinks she might have some idea...
History: Ralke was the first born to his father, an spirits maker, who expected him to follow in his footprints. Until his son started to speak and then he lost all hope for that plan. Laughing, joking, and pranking his way through his youth, Ralke was ever so pleased when his parents announced he would have someone to look after soon. Even more pleased when that person was a little sister. Sure, a little brother could have been cool too, but with a sister- endless teasing could occur. With a monster to follow him around for several years, Ralke took better care of his baby Rawni than any other big brother could have. And she started to grow on him with her big blue eyes and the fact that they looked almost exactly alike. He pulled her into his pranks, making some of the Holdmembers think they were twins and then getting out of trouble when he sent Rawni in to rectify whatever damage he had caused. It was perfect. Until she grew a little older and started getting moody and upset all the time.
Suddenly, he knew what the problem was. Rawni wasn't like everyone else, except for perhaps Ralke himself. And no one else really understood that. But having taken care of his baby sister since she was born, it was up to him to make sure she got to where she needed to be. Ralke coaxed her into figuring out she liked girls, and boys, but also helped nudge her to come to the conclusion that maybe she was meant for more than just a simple Craft in a simple Hold. Ralke wasn't sure what he was supposed to do, but Rawni needed to know. And so he told his parents that he was going to become a Rider and nothing could stop him. And of course Rawni wasn't going to be left behind.
Not that she knew he said that. Despite the teasing and the joking, Ralke actually cares a lot for his sister. Enough to make sure she isn't ruining any chances for herself with her bratty attitude. Slowly and quietly and completely behind the scenes, he's been helping Rawni her whole life. And he intends to make sure she has a damn good life and Craft, for when she finally understands that there isn't anything stopping her.
Pets: None, but he has been eying up a Flitt for more than a few months now. Other/Talents: Ralke is a good hand at drawing, generally with complicated figures with mathematical equations and detailed schematics to boot. He also has some ability to charm others into getting what or who he wants, but that might be a mixture of his personality and appearance, rather than some extra charisma. His build makes him a natural runner and sure footed in any athletic situation or competition.
Will this character be a candidate? Yes

While one piercing is okay, unfortunately, I'm slightly iffy on the fact that he has three. :< Since medicinal technology is very limited, those piercings would stand out in a weird sort of wtf way, not so much in a 'cool' way. xD Other than that though, again, I don't see much of a problem with him. <3I am a little slow today; there's no such thing as an apprentice inventor, I'm afraid. ;__; They're just too rare to have their own craft, especially in case of a situation like this, where they'd be snatched up to be potential Candidates. But here is a list of available crafthalls and the like!

It took me like, ten years to get back to this, so sorry. I talked with Nata, one of our owners, and unfortunately, she sees 'Technican' as being related to the influx of technology that came when AIVAS was discovered. Since AIVAS doesn't exist in this setting, neither do things like the complex mathematical equations, etc.
I'm sorry I keep making you change this, but that is the word I got from the higher-ups. :< <3
