Name: Rawni
Age: 17
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Craft: N/A
Rank: Candidate

Physical Description: Rawni compliments her older brother, and is often mistaken for a twin; the differences are slight, and asides the change in gender, hardly noticeable if one were to manage to arrange to have both siblings in the same room. Similarly colored, Rawni also has extremely dark, black hair that falls to her lower back. Although her hair is thinner than most females and naturally straight, Rawni rather prefers to braid or plait her hair in order to keep it out of the way. Where her brother's eyes range more towards the light side of the spectrum, Rawni's include more blue flecks and appear to be several shades darker. Her facial features are a bit softer: her chin more rounded and her bottom lip slightly more fuller than it perhaps ought to be. Three freckles, arranged in a triangle, hover on her left cheek, below her eye.

Height wise, Rawni is significantly shorter than Ralke, but it is to be expected. Really, Ralke is quite the giant- or so she says. Either way, she stands a little taller than average for her gender but is made mostly of leg. Only slightly thicker than 'thin,' Rawni has developed wiry muscles that hide quite well under her skin. Rawni hardly likes to wear skirts and likes to proudly admit that she hasn't been forced into one since she has moved to the wyer and probably won't be seen in one for a few turns yet.

Personality: Rawni is one of the most complicated characters you'd have the mistake of meeting in the Weyr. At first, the young woman can be callous, obtuse, and impertinent, especially to younger or similarly aged candidates that expect her friendship simply on the basis of their identical ranks. Really, the only people she might force herself to respect the first time she met anyone would be the Weyrwoman or one of the higher ranked Riders. And even at that, she might change her mind about these high-ranking individuals if she doesn't seem to find any traits that are worth respecting. Rawni isn't one to be shy, but she allows other people to fill in the quiet gaps in conversation until she decides to speak her mind- then you might want to stand back or walk [run, more likely] in the other direction and have yourself a little cry. Not that you would admit to it, of course.

Her brother has told her this isn't the best way to make friends but she doesn't find herself too concerned.

Either way, those that bother to stick around or she's forced to have around [Ralke. Ralke. Ralke.] and she slowly comes to know and respect, her attitude changes drastically. Sarcastic, cynical, and sometimes even chatty, Rawni knows how to conduct witty banter like no other. She even lets her female, mothering side out when the occasion calls for it and can be comforting, nurturing, and generally helpful.

One of the best friends you can ever have if you stick through her quips and get under her skin, or impress her enough to skip that entire phase of the relationship.

History: The daughter to a spirits maker and a innkeeper and the younger sister to a bonafide tease of an older brother, it's no wonder that Rawni was a natural born cynic. Stubborn to the point of fault with a streak of sarcasm, Rawni was hardly born into any situation that befit the 'princess' her brother enjoyed calling her. Really, Rawni felt extremely out of place at school or running errands in the Hold until she reached the age of eleven, when she met an outrageous, homosexual dragon rider who was Searching the area and staying at her parents' inn.

And it all finally, and firmly, fell into place. Sure, she liked to look at boys, but really, the girls were prettier. Interested in the same gender as her brother, it nearly took the Rider's entire visit before she made a pact with herself and discussed it with her brother. Who proceeded to laugh in her face and tell her that it was hardly a secret.

Rawni still holds a bit of a grudge against Ralke for that comment.

Despite the fact that the romantic side of her life seemed to make so much sense to her, the rest of her future seemed less and less clear as she grew older and gained more turns. Upset with herself that she hadn't been able to find a Craft that suited her for any length of time, Rawni grew more and more stubborn to figure out what was wrong with her that she couldn't just settle down like all of the other children her age. In a moment of introspection and, again, a catalytic event, Rawni finally decided what she wanted to do with her life, and she sure couldn't have found it in her Hold. And sure, Ralke told her that it was the only area of Crafting left that she hadn't tried her hand at, but who was he to tell her what she should do?

Almost three turns ago, Rawni decided after a lengthy introspection to follow her older brother to the weyr and leave two exceptionally sad parents behind, watching both of their children set out for a more exciting life than either of them could have ever provided in their wildest dreams. Despite the fact that their mother argued against Rawni's age and promised to send her along when she had become a little bit older, or learned a bit more of any trade she liked, Rawni explained that if anyone was going to be able to get Ralke to the weyr in any decent shape or amount of time, it was going to be her. Since arriving, Rawni has made a bit of a name for herself and thrown herself into learning everything that she would ever need to know about dragonets, wyerlings, and dragons, in the way of history, anatomy, and general health. It seems Rawni has found the calling that she could never decide upon in her Hold. But she would hardly admit to the exact thing her older brother predicted.

Pets: None
Other/Talents: Rawni has a natural ability to find lost things- both on purpose and coincidence. Perhaps it's because she's female or perhaps it's some other latent ability, but Rawni has never been stumped yet. Similarly, she is rather talented at dancing: moving to a rhythm, but this feature is shown off far less.

Will this character be a candidate? Yes

[[In advance, it's probably best to read both Rawni and Ralke in conjunction with each other. Some of the weird details about their relationship might make more sense that way. They came as a two-for-one deal in my head. Stupid kids.]]

Unfortunately, in this universe, we're not allowing tattoos. :< Other than that though, I see no problems with her!
