I need some help with my schedule, so you can all act as my advisers. Anyways, I think I want to take Chorus, it's from 6-8 PM on Thursdays. My current schedule is below. Realistically, I could easily fit it in. It's a 2 credit hour course that isn't really even a course. I just need to show up to get an A. The time sucks though. I don't want to have to finish with class and then leave again for some s**t a** vocal class that probably will benefit my singing marginally, not to mention it'll interfere with my social life.

So, what do I do?

Is it frowned upon to drop out after a month? Anyway, what else are you going to do with yourself all Winter?

I was thinking of looking at Facebook and winning the love of some beautiful, intelligent woman, or something. Maybe sledding, and movie viewing, probably with some running 3-4 days a week, not to mention a job (I need that paper). Losing a weekday night like that would probably cost me a bunch of that stuff. Oh, haha, also not to mention my other classes (which shouldn't really be a problem, but BLAH).

Still though, singing with complete strangers could be pretty fun.

Totally do Chorus. Singing in a choir really can be a social thing, so who cares if it takes away from time doing other social things. ;D PLUS, with your amazing and improved singing voice, winning over the ladies will be even easier. DOOOOIT.

I can already sing fairly decently, probably far better than most. The thing is I've never had any formal training, so that would be my main reason for taking it. It's still a pretty tough decision, though. That's a big chunk of time every week that I'm not necessarily sure I want to commit to. We also perform pieces with the orchestra, and undoubtedly would have practice sessions (other than our regularly scheduled class sessions). If I do end up taking it, the goal would be to get good enough to the point where I would audition for Choir (which obviously is smaller and better), and eventually either double major in Music/Mathematics or just drop Mathematics down to a minor and go full out Music. I'm still not sure about that career wise though, since I'm almost certain I want a PhD in Math (which is obviously a completely different conversation, yet still partially relevant).

I know I'm sounding really pessimistic about this, but my mind is still somewhere in the middle.

Oh, and I don't think I'll have to worry about wooing any ladies with my beautiful singing voice; they're usually more infatuated with my cuteness/intelligence/hilarity/humbleness, etc.

My back up plan to all of this is just to become an obscure musical talent that tours small places yet still has a decent fanbase (enough to support myself financially, of course). After that it's a skydiving instructor, or maybe a chef. Those would be pretty fun.

And then you could be an astronaut, then the president...
