Citka was still on her journey. She hadn’t made it to the ‘desert’ lands yet, but just by the sheer heat she was feeling she knew she had to be close. She closed her eyes, thinking about the time she had spent just a bit with the grey lion Majivu. He was nice; his pride also sounded intriguing. Maybe she would meet up with others from the pride to learn about it’s history. Unfortunately, Citka knew she would always remain in the Kusini’mwezi lands, but that didn’t mean that any children she bore, or other family members she had would have to stay in the lands. She would let them have the opportunity to live their life the way they wanted to.

Right now, the female gazed to the left and right, looking for any signs of life. There was one she saw, a female with the brightest markings her dual colored eyes had ever laid themselves on. What was she doing? Was she resting? Quickly in her mind Citka analyzed the scene before her. The shuffling of the other female jolted her thoughts as the charcoal female stepped towards her, quietly.

The sounds of movement and the scent of another had not ‘awaken’ the female resting on the ground, for she was never really asleep to begin with. Her nose twitched, the other was coming closer. Didn’t anyone teach youngsters not to come near ‘stranger’ lions anymore? Blue eyes narrowed slightly as the older lioness turned her head towards the newcomer. She relaxed, finding that the female was not a child has she had anticipated, but a grown adult.

“Who are you?” the bright female asked, lifting herself from the dusty ground with ease. She stood, awaiting the response from the other female.

“Well?” Rukopa-eupe waited, wanting to know the answer from the female right away.

At the female’s questioning, Citka wanted to take a step back. Her bi-colored eyes were focused on the other female’s markings. It looked like…a bird? It was almost as if a skeleton bird was painted right across her back. She continued to gape at the marking, until the irritated ‘Well?’ erupted from the other’s maw. Sheepishly gazing downward, the female did not meet the other’s eyes as she spoke.

“My name is Citka. I am the daughter of Poza Kenai and Yaya Ayo of the Kusini’mwezi lands.”

She liked to introduce her parents with their titles, but sometimes she forgot the not everyone knew what exactly a ‘poza’ or ‘yaya’ was. At the confused expression from the other female, she explained. “A poza is a healer, while a yaya takes care of the children. I am on a quest for my father to become a poza like him!” Citka said happily.

“What’s your name?”

…Great, out of all the meetings that Ru had to go through, she had to meet the most bubbly and if not dimwitted lion of them all. She noticed the stare towards her pelt, but said nothing. When the other had spoken her name and her parents titles, she gave the other a look of questioning.

The darker female explained it afterwards. Prides…heh, she never understood the titles that were given, especially after leaving her own many moons ago.

“Shouldn’t your father be out here then, teaching you the ropes about medicinal herbs and plants instead of you figuring them out on your own? You don’t want to poison anyone you meet injured along the way trying to heal them now, do you?” Ru mentioned in a sarcastic tone.

“I am Rukopa-eupe.” That was all the introduction she gave.

Citka’s ears drooped. “Well…I…uh…” She knew the other was right. “My father needs to be in the pride, or else no one will be able to heal the sick and injured lions that enter our lands. Therefore he needs to train me, but letting me go off on my own to figure things out in the world! He gave me a very specific task, and I am going to follow it out until the end!” The charcoal female said enthusiastically.

“Plus,” she narrowed her eyes just slightly, her voice dropping a level in tone, “I don’t plan on hurting those that need help. I might be young and in experienced, but I know some things.” Her attitude changed back to the bubbly self once more.

“Rukopa….eupe…Hey! That’s a nice name!”

Ru couldn’t help but smirk. She knew she had hit a nerve with the other female about hurting a lion she was meant to help, but her attitude quickly changed, causing the bright lioness to be taken aback.

“Chill-kid.” She retaliated quickly, before the female could say anything else. “I am just letting you know the facts here. You may think you’ll never hurt another animal because you are ‘sworn to help them’ by all means. Let’s just get over the simple matter that even though you think one thing, it is inevitable to help all creatures that are placed at your front door step. One wrong leaf of a plant, or one drop of root can cause a lot more damage then you will ever think. Perhaps you should get your /Poza/ to tell you more about it before he sends you on a quest, especially with that mindset you have.”

The charcoal healer-in-training frowned, the length of it increasing with every passing minute of talking with the bone-bird lioness. “You sound as if you have had a problem with a healer in the past, and therefore are taking it out on any who practices the profession…” the female observed, her frown never leaving her maw. “Did someone treat you or a family member badly that you need to take out your anger on me?” Citka asked sullenly, sitting on the ground with a small thump. She hated feeling as if she had done something to upset the female, even if she actually hadn’t and was just related by choice career.

“It’s none of your business!” Ru snapped, a lip raising to a snarl. “You don’t need to know my history, my familys’ history or even my friends’ history about /your/ kind.” The female huffed, looking for an exit to take from this situation. “Just because I warned you of things that might have not even passed through your head does not mean anything. Got it? Good.”

Ruko stalked off, leaving the female sitting in the dust behind her. ‘Stupid healers’ she thought to herself. ‘They think they know everything, or can heal everyone. But they can’t. They need to get that through their head; the sooner, the better.’

As the other female walked off, Citka rose to her feet. The other…Rukopa-eupe’s, attitude she could tell had something to do with something in her past. She made a note to ask her father when she returned, if perhaps maybe there was some kind of herb that would help forget the past…or maybe even something to help ease the pain of it. Out of all the plants in Africa, there had to /one/ type of plant that would allow such results. “Goodbye, Rukopa…” Citka murmured, never one to not say goodbye. “Until we meet again.”
