((Just a doodle to give an idea for the backdrop. It's just outside of the trees in the Stargrove.)) The Rain Ceremony binds two souls together in marriage forever. There is no divorce or seperation in this pride. Thus, the Rain Ceremony keeps two bound forever. The Rain represents love, how it is the lifeblood of marriage. The earth needs rain to survive, as does love to a union.
We will try to do this one pair at a time. A pair will approach Tawa'di. They will need something to exchange with one another, whether it be a feather, a flower/leaf, or something similar. Tawa'di will take each gift, bless it, and offer it to the other. Thus, they will be united. Then the pair should leave together, so I'm asking for at least two posts for you guys. <3
This is also a good time to renew such vows, as it renews the excitement of love! (*bricked*)
If you want items, I am willing to do them as long as you are patient. <3
This will open on Monday, hopefully.

Ama Galu'nadi gently nudged his companion Binti before stepping out from the sidelines. He'd waited quite a while to do this, and now the time was perfect. Long ago, the Ela male had decided the lioness who'd taken care of his mother and then his mother's offspring would be the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Though their relationship wasn't always visually represented, they'd shared a closeness and a bond that many only hoped for. She never had to stay, but she did. She stayed with him through everything. The heartbreak of his mother's passing, the hardships put upon him to raise his half-siblings, and then the pain of watching them turn to adults. She'd always been there.
He had no doubts. Ama strode slowly towards Tawa'di, feeling that Binti was beside him. Around his neck he held the trinket he would give her during the ceremony, hidden within his great mane. At this moment, the great Ela could not look any happier or prouder.

Binti'sokota shifted uneasily, oddly tense now that she was actually standing here, ready to approach Tawa'di alongside Ama. It wasn't that she doubted her feelings for the ela male--they'd crept up on her slowly, without her realizing it initially, but she was well past denying how important he'd become to her...but the knot in her stomach remained.
Starting when Ama nudged her, Binti laid one paw lightly on top of his before stepping forward alongside him, head held high, the small carved-bone antelope she'd brought to give him held carefully in her mouth.

Tawa'di lingered in the area just behind where the two trees stood; many vines draped between the trees, their green colour blending in the with background. It left a very soft feeling, as well as something to admire for any of the other couples that wished to observe, waiting for their turn. He was pleased that there was a perfect location to hold the marriages.
Seeing the first couple approach swelled his heart; it was one that he had been watching for most of his time in these new lands. They had been newly grown when he first noticed them, if he remembered right; and they were still together. They might not have known it, but Tawa'di always had a hunch. He was an old sap, one that adored seeing love grow between two. Even if they would grumpily admit it.
Offering a nod to the two of them, the old lion gestured to the two to outstretch a forelimb to one another; a sign of their union.
"Ama Galu'nadi, of the Sky. Binti'sokota, also of the Sky. The two of you recognize your devotion to one another. The land will now recognize it as well, binding the two of you together until death. Your souls together for eternity."
"If you have true intention of your vows to one another, exchange your gifts. Wear them always, as they will prove that you two are together, and always, as mates."

Ama's eyes nearly glowed as he took Binti's paw in his own.
"The gods above please protect the one I love. I honor all you created as I pledge my heart and life to her. I honor mother-earth - and ask for our marriage to be abundant and grow stronger through the seasons; I honor fire - and ask that our union be warm and glowing with love in our hearts; I honor wind - and ask we sail though life safe and calm as in our father's paws; I honor water - to clean and soothe our relationship - that it may never thirst for love; With all the forces of this world that has been created, I pray for harmony and true happiness as we forever grow young together."
With that, Ama slipped his paw from Binti's long enough to remove the necklace from the confines of his great mane. Gently he held it before her so that she could see his treasure that he was gifting to her. "This is a token of how much I care for you and I cannot bear to be without you ever. This necklace is a symbol of more than just our pride, but of my love for you." He lifted the necklace up and over her head, settling the gift across her neck. Comprised of several layers, the strong vine necklace held a delicate pouch, identical to those worn by the females of the pride, hung in the center. "This pouch was my mother's before she died, and I know she would've wanted you to have it, Binti." His green eyes shimmered as he finished settling the necklace upon his love's neck.

Binti cleared her throat, eyes glistening as she lowered her head to make it easier for Ama to settle the necklace around her neck. Laying one forepaw back across his, she dropped the small bone charm she'd brought to give ama into her other paw, and then repeated his vows carefully, not wanting to miss any of the words--they were beautiful, and if her voice was a bit scratchy from emotion, surely it could be attributed to the formality of the moment.
Clearing her throat again, she held out the small bone antelope charm she'd made herself, offering it to him with a small smile. "And this is a token of my love for you-you balance me, and give me strength when I most need it."

They approached slowly. It had been some effort and argument between them to get to this spot- and while an agreement had been made, there was tiredness to the next couple. Ameh loved traditions. She always had. The idea of marriage had enthralled her. Phib, while quite amiably acclimated to the Ela’wadiyi, had a hard time understanding why it was necessary. A deeply private person, he liked to avoid things that put him in the spotlight. He liked traditions from afar. But suddenly standing in the midst of it made him feel old, and just a bit embarrassed.
[“Well, what would they think of us?” She had said, hours before. “Together so long and never married? It shouldn’t be such a hard thing to do!”]
It was a hard thing to do. They stopped together in front of Tawa’di. Ameh smiled and bowed her head to the elder. Elegant and put together as always- she held a small, pristine white feather in her mouth. After acknowledging him, she looked over at her mate. It wasn’t just about marriage to her. It wasn’t just a ceremony. She wanted him to realize what it meant for her to say her soul was bound to him! That in thousands and thousands of years, she had never loved anyone like him. That, in this, she implicitly committing herself to one day assuming a mortal existence permanently. And although Phib had dragged his heals and not understood- he did understand loving her. He’d loved her all his life, whether or not he knew it. He loved her even though he knew fully well she kept secrets from him. He loved her even though they had no children. He just hoped she was not so doubtful of him. As though he would run off! He held another feather in his mouth. It was a simple brown feather. He wasn’t sure where she had gotten hers, but he hoped its simplicity wouldn’t frustrate her.
The white lioness smiled, and leaned up against him. His ears were flattened and he was looking very intently at his paws, but it was enough to make the lion smile. She'd always made him smile.

Tawa'di watched the first pair leave together, feeling a jolt of youthfulness flood in his heart. It was thrilling seeing this, and he was greatful that he was here to witness it. Though it was a less public ceremony than the others, every couple that wanted to be united could watch while they waited their turn.
The next pair to approach was one that....well, he could honestly say surprised him. He had only met them once before, when they asked together for membership within the pride, as Shadow Clan members. It had been quite some time, but Amedia still looked as youthful and vibrant as ever. Her chosen, it seemed, hadn't changed much either. He couldn't resist a smile.
He offered a bow to the two of them, thanking them for joining him. He gingerly took their offerings from one another, placing the two feathers together just in front of their forepaws.
"Together, you have been, from the first time I met the both of you. Together you are, approaching the trees within the Stargrove as hearts intertwined. Your offerings to one another represent how your hearts soar together, even through the darkest of times. Together you will always find the light, even residing within the Shadow."
He raised up each gift to one another. A white feather for Phib, and a brown feather for Ameh.
"There is nothing simple in a gift, as the thought and importance behind it is what's represented. Wear your gifts with pride, as all will see that the two of you are mates, married on the land of the Ela'wadiyi, and together for as long as your loves shines."

Ameh bowed her head low. She took the old lion's words to heart. There had been many years of both shadow and light stretched before the goddess. She liked to believe they did find light together. And in this land, she was finding more of it then ever before. With her heart full she raised her head and delicately picked up the brown feather from between them. Phib might have worried about the implications- but the earthen color delighted her. Always to earth she had served.
Beside her, although still a bit choked by the whole exchange, the old male nodded his head at Tawa'di's words. She'd never done him wrong, that was for sure. Watching as she plucked the brown feather from the offerings, he leaned down and took the white one. It was a bit longer then hers- and as he held it in his mouth, he had to wonder exactly how a lioness who never seemed to hurt anything had managed to heist it off a bird.
"Thank you, elder." Ameh said gently. Her head turned towards her mate. She felt as though she had a lot to say to him- but the sight of him looking back at her and smiling was all she needed. Yes, this had always been the right choice. She pressed her head against his and thrummed pleasantly.
The two turned around, and moved back towards the onlookers. Quietly, as she moved- Ameh teased lightly in a whisper: "Now you can't be rid of me."
"Well now, that is a problem." Phib mused with a grin.

So many things had renewed his feeling of youth lately, this currently more than any of the others. He had anxiously been awaiting this moment since word of the festival had reached his ears and Kindoro had agreed, once again, to become his mate. The same butterflies had taken flight within his stomach as they had when he'd first confessed his feelings for her.
The only difference now seemed to be that the pride she was a member of, that they were members of, accepted their union and were willing to bless it with a ceremony; binding them together in more than just their own eyes.
He had waited, feeling his heart skip as other couples had entered the grove before them... And now it was their turn. He leaned over, nuzzling his cheek against Kindoro's as their shoulders touched before stepping back so that they could walk together towards Tawa'di.

She had only just managed not to pounce on Tambaa out of joy when he had asked her to join the ceremony with him. She had thought for so long that they wouldn't find a home that accepted them and their union. It had hurt that the Pride she had been born into had not but this made up for it. A place to call home where their little family was accepted fully.
She leaned against him slightly as they walked together. She knew this would be a special day for both of them and tried not to let the butterfly's get to her. She looked down for a moment at the little string of pebbles that she had to give to Tambaa for a moment and tried not to let her emotions get the better of her

The next couple to appoach was one that he was expecting, though he had only known them for a much shorter time compared to the other two. They had proven to him how they cared for one another, and felt that it was a perfect example that they came to renew their vows, and become officially recognized as Ela'wadiyi mates.
Pleased so much that he could almost purr, he nodded to the both of them as they approached. He was a little surprised that there was no gift from Tambaa, but there were reasons for that. One of which was that they were proven together already, so perhaps there was no need. He was not one to judge, and there would be no doubts between the two of them regardless.
"Welcome. Tambaa and Kindoro of the Wolf. You've been recognzied to others as mates, but now the land will recognize it officially. You will be together as one, from now until your body becomes one with the earth. Your hearts will stay together past that time, and shine on forever in the lives of your decendants."
Gesturing that they should extend one paw together, he placed his paw on the offering that Kindoro would give to Tambaa. Wishing for their happiness together, he pushed it to the male, for when he was ready to take it.
"Together now, and together forever. You are lifemates, and never shall you part."

He turned to his mate, letting his eyes meet hers for a moment as he extended his paw. Leaning in, he brushed his muzzle against her cheek affectionately, sliding it up slowly until he could whisper into her ear. "I have no gift to offer that is greater than my love for you. In time perhaps I will find a way to mold it into something more tangible than a feeling, stronger than a shoulder to lean on... But until then I hope that I alone am enough for you."
Pulling back after nipping lightly at her ear he smiled before leaning down to retrieve the string of pebbles that Kindoro had brought. Someday when he had the chance he would have someone split into two so that they could each have a part of the current whole; a symbol taken from a symbol, not complete unless together. He only hoped that she would understand until then why he hadn't brought a token with him.

She knew that there was no one else in the world for her better than Tambaa but it felt good to be able to be bound together in the pride's mind. She wanted everyone to know that she loved him and for it to be accepted by those they considered their family.
Her ear twitched at the slight n** and she smiled at her mate for a moment. Tanbaa had never been one for trinkets for expression. He had always tried more to use his words and gestures. She looked over him, taking in the new way he carried himself now that he was adjusting, before she turned her ees back to Tawa'di
