Cold as Ice:: Players:: oOo_Shinobu_oOo, Kotatsu-chan Gladiers:: Peony, Milo Glade:: Epheria Lakefront Setting:: Late in the evening, the sun has set and there isn't a cloud in sight. The moon is full, however, and casts enough light to see by fairly easily.

Milo dipped his paws in the lake gloomily as the water lapped up to meet him. It was cold, cold, cold like his soul.
Oh, his soul was so frigid. Despairingly, he got up, pacing along the edge of the bank. The problem was, he figured, that no one -understood- him, that no one saw that he was deep and unique and special. No one bothered to look past the strange, makeuplike markings, the blaring songs full of self-pity blasting through his headphones, and his strange obsession with human technology to see that he was smarter and better than all of those stupid, cheerful, optimistic sheep. Optimism was for the weak! Only the really smart saw that the world actually seriously sucked.
Worst of all, no one would call him xMilo, either.
As far as the Cetus was concerned, he was alone, horribly alone in this hellish land full of happiness and fluff and kindness. Pouting slightly and attempting to look brooding, he adjusted his headphones.
Life, he decided, was meaningless.

The air was crisp and surprisingly cool for a late summer night. A small, very elegant Spica had made her way to the lakefront for her nightly bath before bed. Dipping one paw in and then the other Peony slowly made herself into a rather shallow part of the lake.
Finally settling in the small Gladier began the task of preening her fur, making sure every strand of fur was just right. Then it happend. A small strand of lake plant became tangled around one of Peony's back legs while she was fidgeting around cleaning.
Looking behind her Peony soon noticed she was being attacked by a...sea monster? "UNHAND ME YOU FIEND!" The Spica thrashed about as she yelled. "UNHAND THE PRINCESS THIS INSTANT!" Peony was cold, wet, and being attacked and she wasn't afraid to let EVERYONE know this.

Milo jolted at a sudden shriek and looked up from his inner despair. Further along the bank, a younger gladier was floundering in the water, talking about being unhanded. Was she being attacked?
He let out a moan. Of course this would happen when nobody but him was around. Looking about hopefully for some daring hero and seeing none, he got up and walked over to her.
Stopping, he considered the situation. Was it really worth it? Was life worth it? She probably wouldn't thank him if he tried to save her, considering just how much the world sucked. But if he didn't save her, she'd probably be even angrier. Anyway, he thought, cheering up a bit, if he drowned, then at least he wouldn't have to worry about it either way. Splashing into the water, headphones* and all, he floundered after her. "Don't worry!" he called out, attempting to be comforting, "If you drown, just think that life wasn't really worth it anyway!"
*He NEVER took off his headphones, and by some miracle they never malfunctioned.

Hearing another splash nearby Peony jolted upright. She had been tugging of her "captor" but, to no avail. No matter how hard she pulled on the end of the plant it only seemed to tighten around her leg.
Finally spying where the splash had come from over the water, another Gladier seemed to be heading this way. Was this her savior, her prince in shining armor come to save her? A small grin crossed her face when this thought crossed her mind, momentarily forgetting her current predicament. Snapping back into reality Peony tugged at the plant once again before piping up. "Mister prince! If you could kind sir please release me from my captor." She scowled down at the plant. "This sea monster is most rude. Putting it's slimy hands on a princess! But you'll save me right?"
What her savior said next took her by surprise. "DROWN!? I have no plans of doing such a thing! I've got commoners and servants to look after after all!"
