The plains stretched wide and open in front of the young foal. Her strange two-colored eyes took it all in, the warm sun, light breeze, the touch and smell of dried grass. "So much to explore!" she exclaimed to herself since there was no one she could see within sight. It was an exciting first for her, she had gotten away from her family for a little alone time and exploration.

She happily trotted out across the land, her white hooves trampling the scant grass. There wasn't a plan in mind, or a path to follow. It was wing-it sort of day.

Rockstar's hoof was hurting. His entire leg was hurting. He frowned, trying to keep the ears back. "Stupid Selena..." he mumbled. Selena, his herds mate , had once again kicked him for singing and ran him out of the teepee. She kicked him HARD. Every time he put pressure on it it felt like someone was poking him with small knives. He groaned.

Maybe running around in the field would stretch it out and help it feel better. He hoped so. it hurt alot..."I want nice Soquili in my teepee!" He yelled at the sky. He didn't care if anyone had heard him, and if they did, maybe they could help him heal his leg.

He finally saw the end of the tree line, and when he emerged, great plains of green stretched before him. Even the sight of them made him forget his pain and want to run. SO he ran. And stopped three seconds in. his leg didn't want to run. He snorted in an annoyed manner. "Walking it is, or limping, which to you prefer you god damned leg?"

A loud shout caught the blissful foal. She stopped and turned, trying to locate where it had come from. She scrunched up her face as she searched but to no avail, she could not find the owner. "Hmm..."

Winter quickly went about her business once more. She trotted off in the direction she originally had started with. She clicked her heels and whinnied happily until once again some noise, a voice, stopped her in her tracks. This time she was sure it was close. Very close.

The young filly whipped her head around, straining to see in the distance. There off to her right was a dark blob that almost resembled a horse. The figure wavered slightly with the summer heat. It wasn't as close as she had expected but then again sound did carry easily on the open plains.

Winter darted off towards the newcomer. Her small hooves pounded over the ground, her small body propelling forward with incredible strength. Speed was where she excelled. Just minutes passed and she was close enough to see that the figure was actually a soquili stallion. As she got closer, it was apparent the male was injured.

She slowed to a walk, careful not to surprise the stallion. She hoped he was friendly. "Do you need some help?" She called out rather softly compared to her normal jovial tone.

Rockstar's ears perked up when he heard the soft voice. He had been scowling at the ground while walking...limping. But now his face had turned curious and looked to the horizon before him, it the direction that the small voice had come from. He saw a tiny blue speck, it looked like a fellow Soquili. It must be far if it is that small. He decided.

But it wasn't far at all, in fact, this Soq was only a few yards away. Rock blinked in surprise when the small horse was near enough to see the different color's of her eyes. "Wy hello," he said with a smile, happy to see someone new.

"My arn't you small, are you one of those usdias?" He asked curiously, not thinking for one moment that his comment could have been taken as rude.

Winter sighed in relief at the greeting, but then frowned slightly, and cocked her head to the side at the question. "What's an ...usdia?" She asked. The foal was young and inexperienced with most of the soquili species. In fact the only adults she's known are her parents.

ROck smiled and opened his mouth to answer the little filly. "Well you see young one..." he trailed off. He didn't know. All he knew was that Selena, the mare in his herd, had spoke the word once, and when she tried to explain its meaning to Rock, he tuned out. He just wanted to impress the filly, he didn't think she would ask him to clarify. "I...err...I" he hung his head "I don't know..."

He felt silly.

"Oh." Winter cocked her head to the side as if deciding what she would say next. Her attention returned to the possible injury, and she unconsciously moved forward. "Are you alright? Your leg looks hurt."

She stared at his leg, analyzing it. She was a young foal and certainly unable to truly assist but she couldn't help but feel like she needed to help. Even if she just kept the stallion company, it would be enough.

Suddenly realizing she still didn't know the male's name, she introduced herself. "Oh! My name is Winter, daughter of Snowstorm and Suicune. Who might you be?" She smiled brightly up at the larger soquili.

Rockstar looked at his leg. He had momentary forgotten about it. He could already see the purple-ish bruise forming. At least his coat was dark enough that it wouldn't stand out.
"Oh well, the mare in my herd kicked me when I was singing this morning. She was sleeping and I guess I woke her up." He said with a nervous laugh. And then he lay down, scratching it out, hoping it would feel better after a short rest.
"I am Rockstar, one and only son of Rutherford and Elisa." He said, bowing his head politely. 'Its nice to meet you Winter!'

Winter reciprocated his polite bow with a small one of her own. "It's nice to meet you too, Rockstar!" she paused before continuing, "Well your mare isn't very nice then. I'm sure you sing very well. Would you sing a little something for me?"

The young foal sat her rump down in the grass, with a smile still planted firmly on her face.

Rockstar responded with a hardy laugh. "No no, she is fine. She can be mean at times, but I woke her up early in the morning because I was bored. Thats why she kicked me." His ears flicked at the foal's other comment. "A song? I would love to!" He said joyfully, he rummaged through his memory banks for an old folk song that his mother sang when he was just a little foal. When he found it, he began.

"Night has come, the star shine bright. The sun is alseep, but why not you?
The moon will wake and he will blush for he fell asleep,
while you sat awake. Go to sleep, into the relm of dreams.

The night has come, the stars shine bright."

He repeated the simple verse. The song did not rhyme, but it was beautiful and gentle. He looked to the foal for a response.

The foal's eyes widened as she listened to Rockstar's melodic voice. The words were sweet and comforting to her ears. She sighed and smiled softly. "That's beautiful, you're really talented. Could you sing some more?"
Her young face lit up at the prospect of hearing more. It reminded of her own parents.

Rock laughed and shook his mane playfully. "Thank you! I love to sing and listen to songs." He stated with a smile.

"You really like songs it seems, your alot like the mare I love. Candy Hearts. She also really enjoys my songs. Do you know her? Do your parents sing songs to you?" He asked, and in his mind choosing another song to sing.

Winter didn't know what mare Rockstar spoke of but with a name like Candy Hearts, she must have been very sweet. "I don't know her. Actually...I don't know many soquili besides my parents and brother. And my parents would never sing to me." She thought about it for a few moments. "Naw, they wouldn't. They're mostly off in their own world usually which leaves me lots of time to explore."

She bounced with excitement. Exploring new places really made her happy. Family was nice but they didn't move around enough for her inquisitive mind.

Rockstar's eyes sparked. "Well, I would love to sing to you some more. It is sad that your parents don't. Music is such a beautiful thing!" He whistled. Then he cocked his eye at the little filly. She seemed so curious and excited to be away from her family. Suddenly, he imagined how he would have been if music had not been a part of his foal hood. Then his mind began to wander towards thinking of the future. If he and Candy had foals he would make sure he sang to them often and make sure that they had music first. He blushed. He had never thought of him and Candy that way. His face became beat red. He really did love her.
He turned his head away in embarrassment. Was he fit to be a parent? Or would he not be good enough. Then it hit him. He looked at the filly's beautiful, multicolored eyes. She could teach him. Teach him how to be a good parent. Then Candy would surely be proud of him.
Her smiled at the filly.

"I would love to spend they day with you, sing you songs and teach you some. Maybe in return you could teach me something as well!" He said excitedly, proud of his plan.

Winter became elated with Rockstar's proposal, she was overjoyed to be able to find a friend. She was a tad confused at how she would teach the much older soquili, but it didn't show and she was too distracted to ask. "Oh yes! That sounds like so much fun! Where should we go?"
The young foal looked about the plains, there wasn't much to see. Vaguely in the back of her mind, she remembered her family waiting back in the flower field for her, but she quickly pushed it away knowing they would still be there.

((Her parents' owner has been busy lately so we haven't had the chance to rp the family. They're not bad parents...just not always there I suppose. XD; ))
